Lithium
So, the problem is that some of the songs on my iPod suddenly stops in the middle of the track, and some songs stop and switch to the next track before it has even started.Help?
FunkyMonk
I've had that problem before, can't remember how I fixed it though, I think it went away by itself. If you click on some albums does it just keep skipping songs until the album is finished then it goes to the menu? That's really annoying. Try restoring it if you want to get rid of it fast, I expect that'll work.
Lithium
Yeah, it skips tracks until it finds a track that works, or go to the menu if there aren't any tracks left on the albums working properly. Wouldn't restoring the iPod result in the loss of all the information on it?
december pain
This happened to me awhile back, I'm not positive but I think that the best thing to do would be to upgrade to the latest version of iTunes. I think that worked for me.

Wouldn't restoring the iPod result in the loss of all the information on it?It's been a common problem with the iPod classics - particularly with songs that were ripped with programs like Real Player. JDRM
I had the same sort of problems with my classicmake sure you've updated to the latest firmware (1.1.2) , that fixed everything on mine
Leisure Rules
copy the tracks back to your pc , then restore the ipod by updating it's software in ituneswhen done copy the songs to your ipod. I think this is the logic way to do it

All iTunes? Not to start an arguement......I'm actually curious how you figure the are the cheapest?I have 2 Mp3 players that I bought from Best Buy, that were cheaper ($99), that work better than the original I-Shit I had, and hold more songs.Oh and they are compatible with I-Tunes songs I DL.I'm not really trying to debate you...........as I'm so much as saying, I think people need to shop around before buying a mp3 player.IPod/Apple, is the most known, but not the best "bang for your buck." There are no high capacity mp3 players (ie 80 - 160GB) on the market that are as good as the ipod for what you pay. You have to remember that the prices of ipods have plummetted since you bought yours. I sell ipods and other brands of mp3 players at work, so i've done my share of shopping around. And it makes a weird clicking noise sometimes...I bought my classic on the day it was released (last September), so my iPod lived in a sock for the first few weeks until the first case was produced
