Set up a static IP on your Xbox.

In your network settings, assign it an IP address manually.

Then go to your router's configuration page. Look around and you should find an option or a tab called DMZ. Enable DMZ, and enter the IP address that you assigned to your Xbox. Save the changes on your router's configuration page, and try connecting to Live again.

so when i play Xbox LIVE it says my NAT type is not open.

anyone know how to open it ?

Mine says the same too, but it isn't a problem. I can still play games and it's not slower or anything...

yeah, but sometimes, in halo if you go to party up with some one, it says "you cannot party up with this person due to NAT"

not all the time just sometimes.
