SLAXL_Rox
---WARNING: Dumb Questions ---Okay, so apparently I don't know crap about vinyl records, as you are about to find out. :xmassrudolph: *read on*So... I had a few questions. I was at this market-thingy the other day and they had a TON of old vinyl records for sale, and they happened to have one copy of appetite left, and I got it for 5 bucks. Not bad, eh?Anyways, I had a few questions. First of all, how exactly can you tell if the vinyl is an original 1987 copy, or if it's a new re-issued copy? From my understanding, the new re-issued copies have a parental advisory label, and the older ones from the original release do not. Mine does not have the parental-thingy. Ok.So the next question is: (this is where they start getting dumb), why is there a number/serial code type thing written on the actual record itself? I know it's nothing unusual, but I was just wonderin' what was up with that. Also, is there really any significant difference in value from the original released vinyls (1987) and the newly released vinyls? Thanks to anyone who might have some answers/ any information for me. Gordon Comstock
on the back there should be a copyright date. the originals say copyright 1987, if it was re-issued in 2008 or whatever then the re-issue would say copyright 1987,2008.i had to buy the re-issue coz i wore out the original copy. its just hangin on my wall now, haha.hope that helps

Yeah, I guess that means I have an original one becasue I scanned it and couldn't find a '2008' anywhere. Haha, mine's hanging on my wall too, but only because I don't have a record player. Kids these days. :xmassrudolph: Anyways, do you know how much an original one might be generally worth? I mean I'm not expecting it to be a lot, and it's not like I'm going to sell it, but I was just curious of what a rough estimate might be.$30, maybe??Does anyone else have any more info about this?post some high resolution pictures of front/back/record maybe troccoli can help you outBy the way rarerecords has some new AFD's signed by Steven Adlerhttp://www.rarerecords.com.au/12inch/index...em&id=55912Ok thank you!
