Stormbringer
Well, I have to agree with all people who mentioned classics like Led Zepp, Jimi, Sabbath and other bands. However, there is one very important classic band that nobody has mentioned so far - Judas Priest. And their album Painkiller. No matter if you like their music or not you gotta own this album. At least for educational purpose.Painkiller showed the world that the band was able to make a metal masterpiece even after 20 years of existence. That's only one of the things that makes it important. alstonuk
The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead - Amazing both lyrically and musically.Queen - Made In Heaven - Best play through album they made. And a sad one..Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon - Defines why they were so good. The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses - Magic. Great tunes and THE baggy albumHappy Mondays - Pills n Thrills n Bellyaches - Pure madness all the way through.Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral - Bitter lyrics and amazing engineering.Oasis - Whats The Story Morning Glory - Defines the 90s.Metallica - Ride The Lightning - Title track, Fade to Black, Creeping Death. Ace.The Verve - Urban Hymns - Very moving and some great orchestration.Manic Street Preachers - Gold Against The Soul - Ambitious 2nd album.I reckon these are cool choices. Good variety and some classic songs. Didn't bother choosing GN'R as we all know their status.
