Strongback
Seems like the people who write that note are haters of the actual lineup of Guns N' Roses
Mike Honcho
Those fuckers... That article seems to have been written by a 12 year old kid... typical for that newspaper.Oh, by the way, they are hating on Axl and the new band.Anyway, I was so bored that I felt free to waste 10 minutes of my life translating this. Here you go:Who are the New Guns N' Roses?More than one die hard fan said no after the confirmation of their South American tour on March, 2010. The reason: the poor discographical return last year ("Chinese Democracy"), an album that seemes too pale to have costed more than 13 million dollars and having taken 17 years. But the main reason for the distrust is the omnipresence of the vocalist Axl Rose, the only remaining member in the band.Nobody can be blamed for missing the historical Slash, Duff McKagan and Izzy Stradlin, and because of that it is fair to do a short review to unravel who are the controversial singer's bandmates. We'll start here. Slash, McKagan, Stradlin, and even the last drummer, Matt Sorum, left Axl alone, tired of his dictatorial attitudes and his indecisions when trying to create new songs. The only one who stayed was keyboardist Dizzy Reed, who joined in 1991 for the double album "Use YOur Illusion"."We needed the whole band to write the best songs. But as nothing of that happened, we ended up discarding the material", Axl admitted in an interview with GNRonline.com.Then the singer started alternating virtuous names, like bassist Tommy Stinson (The Replacements), the guitarrists Robin Finck (Nine Inch Nails) and Buckethead, the drummers Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails) and Brian Mantia (Primus). Just heavyweights, that however, suffered Axl's rage. They are not like historical Slash and Izzy Stradlin, but they have an enviable curriculum. The band that finally should arrive to Chile is an octet. Led by Axl Rose, it counts with guitarrists Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal and Richard Fortus (Psychedelic Furs, Love Spit Love), the mentioned bassist Tommy Stinson, Drummer Frank Ferrer (Love Spit Love), the surviving Dizzy Reed on keyboards and multi-instrumentalist Chris Pitman, who played before with the well known band Tool. According to an official note on the band's official website, DJ Ashba (man who worked with Mötley Crüe and Beautiful Creatures) has just joined in as the third guitarrist. Everything for the audience not to notice that on stage Slash's wavy mane is missing. The original ones, where are they?Slash: Formed his own band (Slash's Snakepit) and played with Velvet Revolver, with whom he visited Chile. Currently he is working on a solo album "Slash & Friends", where Izzy, Adler and Duff McKagan play.Duff McKagan: Played the bass in Velvet Revolver and in The Presidents of the United States of America. He currently divides his time between his own band, Duff McKagan's Loaded, and his hobby as a financial Columnist on "Seattle Weekly" and "Play-boy".Izzy Stradlin: Has played with Axl and is the closest one to him.Steven Adler: He was in Buenos Aires recently with his own band, Adler's Appetite, appears on the VH1 reality show "Celebrity reheb and sober house", and plans a tour with the historical Guns N' Roses.
