DirtyDeeds
as much as i love GnR... as far as epic albums go, i think the UYIs are lame... so i would go with Pink Floyd.. the Wall. hell... dark side of the moon is great too.
redapple
I wouldn't call UYIs lame but The Wall is definitely more epic album. But Queen's albums Innuendo, A Kind of Magic and Made in Heaven are very deep stuff also.

DirtyDeeds
UYI's lame!! omfg...yeah, UYI2 is the album i think of when i hear epic... UYI 2 is the album i think of when i hear "boring/crappy/mostly filler songs."UYI 1 is ok mostly, but i can only listen to KOHD, Pretty Tied Up, and YCBM on UYI 2. DirtyDeeds
what about civil war- yesterdays- starts out good, then turns for the worse.breakdown- give me a breakestranged- don't like the guitar work. also don't like Axl's ridiculous forced voice at the beginning.so fine- meh... it's ok i guess, but if i was at a GnR concert, this is the song during which i would go get a drink refill.locomotive- again, give em a break.youre FUCKING MADmy cousin and me, my mum, my dad, my aunt and my sister, even my cat say youre FUCKING mad- get in line, so does my doctor.get in the ring mofo-exactly... the most ridiculous, childish shit noise i've ever heard. Greekgelboy
Scenes from a memory by dream theater is the best EpicThe wall fucking sucks, it has a few good songs, but then just stupid sound effects, dark side of the moon is better.UYI albums are fantastic, with a couple of dodgy songs, each album has at lease 60/75 mins which are amazing. axlslash
How has no one mentioned Tommy? I'm listening to the Who's performance at Woodstock right now, where they play the full set of Tommy live in the USA for the first time. So much energy, plus the story is fun to follow. I preffer t to the UYI's 110%.

exploited1851
I recommend as an Epic album: IN KEEPING SECRETS OF SILENT EARTH 3 by Coheed & CambriaIt's an excellent mixture of punk, prog, and emo. Think of Thursday covering an entire Rush album. It's good!
