Why don't more African Americans like rock?

John Lennon once said that before Elvis there was nothing, which is wrong. There was a lot before Elvis, its only that before Elvis it didn't have to have viewers in the billions to be considered something.

I think some of you are painting with pretty wide strokes.

Yes, there are exceptions. But Lynott and Hendrix were singularities. How many African Americans are fans of those two compared to whites? This thread is still about listeners.

How is that album by the way?

They're a very musical people.

The bigger problem is that rock music has been stagnating for two decades. The lack of popularity that rock music has among blacks is reflected among teenagers among all ethnic groups. If there were really good rock bands out there producing new music that might change. I don't see it happening anytime soon.
