appetite4illusions
Shame on Mygnr. All the years of music fans congregating here has failed to produce a DRAMARAMA thread...A great band that never found commercial success despite critical adoration and five ace records. John Easdale is a working man's hero. You can tell this is a Jersey band despite their sunset-strip approach to alt. rock. Those unfamiliar, should get familiar. Street_Of_Dreams
This is a very well known song... are you sure these guys never achieved some commercial success?
appetite4illusions
They never caught a wave of attention outside of that song, and were by and large forgotten for a band with five albums of material. Dramarama is a band that never found their ticket to the big time, despite seemingly having so many opportunities. Why Soul Asylum was able to get away with the same thing and they weren't - hard to say. Hi-Fi Sci-Fi is their coolest album in my opinion. But Vinyl features some unbelievable guitar playing courtesy of Mick Taylor.

Shuffle
Great band. Cinema verite is probably by favourite album of theirs and it might just be the most underrated album of the '80s. Lots of great rock 'n' roll power pop with influences from the Velvets and David Bowie (plus covers!). The singer's got a great voice... The rest of their stuff is really good too, but they were kinda doing the same thing over and over, but doing it good.
