GNR or Aerosmith

Recommended Posts

Marc,

Everybody is aware of the talent the U.K. has produced-Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Stones, and Pink Flloyd. I have heard Aerosmith bill itself as America's greatest rock band, which is argueably true, but for me it is GNR without a doubt. In my opinion Aerosmith does not even have a true classic album in their catalouge. I would love to know what you think about who is America's greatest rock band. This is just a "shits and giggles" type of question, so please dont see this as a shitty question forcing you to take sides, because it is not that type of question. But really , did Aerosmith ever create an Estranged or November Rain? And, what were your thoughts as GNR were blowing up opening up for Aerosmith? Did you ever get to meet the members via your GNR connection?

Carlos, that came from the "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World, the Rolling Stones". I think the albums up to Draw the Line are all great, but you're talking about the "one album a year" era. They had a few months in the studio and had to be back out on the road. Big part in why they burned out.

Marc - When did you first see them in concert? Were you the fan that stuck with them through the Dufay/Crespo era and supported "Done With Mirrors"?

http://i47.tinypic.com/23t3uvt.jpgI met Joe Perry in 1981 and Steven Tyler in 1982. As far as Aerosmith classic records you have Toys In The Attic and Rocks. However the first 7 records are great and a few from the reunion are great. I did still support the band when Joe and Brad were gone just like I still support New GNR. I can't really say who is better GNR or Aerosmith. Its like a Black And White Cookie. Both sides taste great. http://i49.tinypic.com/21lvhvk.jpg
