sweetness
This album just went #1 on the Billboard Vinyl chart in it's first week which is a pretty big deal for a post-hardcore band, this has never happened before. They've also been getting press from larger publications like Rolling Stone, which just... does not happen, ever. Not that being written in Rolling Stone is any form of validation in the slightest, but it is interesting to see aggresive music like this being covered in a mainstream publication. Could be a sign that the genre is finally getting the recognition it deserves, or just that it's grown so much in the last few years, but all bands and fans from this scene are rooting for them and it's pretty exciting. Not to mention it's a great, honest, record
Guest Len B'stard
Whats post-hardcore?
sweetness
sub genre pioneered in the late 80's and early 90's by bands like Rites of Spring, Fugazi and Shellac in the American mid-west and south-west. Rooted in hardcore punk but more melodic, structured differently, more variety of vocal styles, and more of a use of building tension in a composition as opposed to tearing through songs in 28 seconds.
