Vocal worm up

Recommended Posts

Dont force yourself. Do 5ths (with X_Estranged_X's syllables). As in C D E F G F E D C. then C# D# E# (or F natural...there enharmonic) F# G# and then backwards and keep going up. Then do arpeggiated full chords like C E G C <--(up the octave). C# E# G# C#^.

When i used to do drama production things/musicals/whatever you call it, we had vocal warm ups. We had to do the strangest things. Like say the word "meow" to the tune of O'canada but really open your mouth when you do them. Another one is hard to explain. You know when you put you lips together and push air out they flutter. well we used to have to go up and down our scales and do o'canada non-stop with that. You look and sound like a real idiot doing this but it really helps(along with some other warm ups too)
