A.F.I.-Slash
I've always played the intro to Jungle manually. (picking the delayed notes) Does anyone know what the exact settings should be on the Boss DD-3 pedal for this tune?
quadlaser
that depends, do you play the intro right?E|-----------------------------|-----------------------------|B|-----------------------------|-----------------------------|G|---4-------4---------4-4-4---|--4--4-2--2-----------------:|D|-----------------------------|------------4--4-2--2--0----:|A|-----------------------------|--------------------------2--|E|-----------------------------|-----------------------------| \--------only once----------/ \----repeat this 2 times----/this is NOT the first part.the real first part is actually quite difficult to play
A.F.I.-Slash
This is how I play the main intro lick after the 4 444 444 part....The whole thing is palm muted. Now that I have the DD-3 as part of my set up, I'd like to play it the way it is in the Cherry Lane Appetite for Destruction Purple Tabulature book and incorporate the pedal.E|----------------------------:| A|---------- 0--- 0- 0--0---:|G|---444-2- 2---------------:|D|------------- 4- 2- 0------:|A|------------------------0--:|E|-----------------------------:| this is played very fast and simulates the delay effect from the album. Thanks for any assistance you can offer.....A.F.I.-Slash

quadlaser
god i hate doing this E------------------------------------------------------------- B----4---4---4---2---4---2-------4-----------4---------------- G----------------------------4-------4---2-------2---0-------2-- D-----------------------------------------------------------2-- A---------------------------------------------------------0---- E--------------------------------------------------------------sorry dude, but cherry lane sucks balls, it's for beginners that couldn't play the real version.as for your settings, make it repeat you like 5 times or soand set the timing to the tempo.don't rely on internet tabs either, they don't know what they're talkin about half the time. i always check to see if they tabbed the solos, and if they didn't, then they're full of shit. i'm full of shit too, i'm sure i missed at least one note on this towards the end. whatever, it sounds perfect
A.F.I.-Slash
No offense, DUDE, but the way you have this tabbed out, you're first note is a D#?? That's not even a part of the Amajor pentatonic scale which the intro most resembles. Also, I've been playing guitar for about 18 years and Gn'R tunes for about 171/2 years. During this time, I have never come across transcriptions more accurate than Wolf Marshall and Cherry Lane. Most players would agree with me. Of course, there are certain mistakes prevalent in virtually any tab, but overall, their stuff is pretty good. Thanks for trying to help, but I guess I was just wondering if someone used this exact pedal and knew what setting works.
quadlaser
sorry, my high e string was broke. it threw me off.scoot that tab down a string so the first note is a b.the last 3 notes are the only ones that are right.
James Bond
I pick the delayed notes too because I think thats what Slash did in concert. This is how I play it:|------------------------------------------------|----0-------0--------0--------0--------0----0-|-4----4--2----2--------------------------------|-------------------4----4---2----2--0----------|-------------------------------------------2-----|-------------------------------------------------Hopefully the tab is easy to read! A.F.I.-Slash
Thanks Slash 2004! I agree, I think that's the most accurate way to play it without a pedal. You pretty much do the same thing I do. Any idea on the DD3 though? Because the way we do it is fine for the first six times, but then he picks each note three times instead of two and you have more of a chance to screw up on stage......Do you play in a band? If so, what do you guys play? Later.......A.F.I.-Slash
chris_ikhtak
So this is not the real way to play the intro WITH delayE|-----------------------------|-----------------------------|B|-----------------------------|-----------------------------|G|---4-------4---------4-4-4---|--4--4-2--2-----------------:|D|-----------------------------|------------4--4-2--2--0----:|A|-----------------------------|--------------------------2--|E|-----------------------------|-----------------------------|\--------only once----------/ \----repeat this 2 times----/its this with delay|------------------------------------------------|----0-------0--------0--------0--------0----0-|-4----4--2----2--------------------------------|-------------------4----4---2----2--0----------|-------------------------------------------2-----|-------------------------------------------------I've always just played the top first tab with delay, but that's not the real way to play the intro? The delay pedal just echoes it. This is how it was played on the album as well. Listen.
