<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

S means "slide". that means you hit a note (ex 12) then, while pressing the string, slide your finger to the 15th fret, without picking the string again.

You may not have the timing right or

It might be tabbed wrong.

And yes Slash's parts are quite easy, compared to Hammett, Vai, Blackmores and Mustaines solos.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

oh, thats what you mean :P. of course gnr is child play compared to iron maidn or metallica.

and druid, try powertab or guitar pro. they play the tabs for you, so you can see and hear exactly when you play the notes

Slash will always be my idol even if his solos or simple

but it's not the tab or the timing, it's the sound

the it's so easy solo ain't that bad, but right next door to hell might be the easiest.

by the way, anyone who says slash stuff isn't complicated should be gearing up for a world tour, that shit ain't easy. it's not the hardest, but it's still complicated.

i'd like to hear mr. johnezz play the bad apples solo.

I don't think it's hard to play a Slash solo note for note. I do think it's hard to play a Slash solo the way he does it, giving each individual note meaning and a purpose for being there. That's talent.

You can't really sit there and compare different guitarist by the difficulty of playing. Yngwie seems to play as many notes per second as he possibly can. That has merit. But I don't think that's any more or less difficult than playing one single note with the perfect amount vibrato at the perfect time in a song. Two completely different but exceptional talents.

Right after i build my new guitar :)

If you want the greatest "less is better" guitar playing, learn some Gilmour, he shits all over Slash in that department

I dunno about that powertab. It might be good if you wanna learn something in a hurry or if you're really stuck, but if you're learning you should be practising timing and listening, and powertab does that for you.

  • 1 month later...

you'll find ppl on here that will say a relatively hard solo (for a beginner) is easy so they can make themselves sound cool..or good....For a beginner the SCOM is hard...except the two slow interludes...they are quite easy.

the thing is..when u are starting out with solos...

I learned KOHD and DOn't CRY first..also PAtience....they are the 3 easiest solos...

13 years later i can play slash's stuff note for note...tone for tone...

'So fine' uses a slide (glass or steel, usually)..that might be why u think it sounds off...Live Slash just uses bends for So Fine - no slide...which is way more emotive in my opinion.

Learn the ballads first. You'll get it eventually.

and when it comes to slash's style...its about melody and breathing room...not 'lets impress with speed...' Slash understands melody and rhythm. He doesn't need to cover up his style with effects or speed.
