Gash
The Idiot by Iggy Pop is a pretty depressing album. Great though. I couldn't get into it on the first listen but it really is a grower. The atmosphere in Berlin seems to create depressing albums heheh.Halleujah by Jeff Buckley (Wainwright's seems a lot brighter and Cohen's is just awful), Suzanne by Leonard CohenI Know It's Over by the Smiths is a particularly depressing one of theirs but I don't like the stereotype that the Smiths are a depressing band. It seems to be from people who haven't heard the wealth of their material or can't latch onto Morrissey's wit and irony.

(per)versionofatruth
I don't know. I think this question is pretty hard. There's alot of really sad songs.. but the saddest would have to be like.. vermillion, danger keep away, and circle by slipknot, if you're going by the meaning of the songs.... If you're lookin at it from a lyrical stand point, maybe like a Home by Micheal Buble, or Ephinany by staind, maybe forget to remember by mudvayne.... maybe if you dont know me by now, that one's pretty sad too... Don't cry and november rain's pretty said as a whole, musically and lyricaly and meaning.. those are my favorite sad songs oh, and Rose of Sharyon by Killswitch engage.. if you havent heard any of these songs, like the slipknot songs and mudvayne.. it'll change your perspective on 'em.. anywho..it is what it isoh, and I forgot Danzig sistina's or Less than Zero.... which he wrote for Roy Orbison

slashs_servant
For me it would have to be i wont see you tonight part 1 - avenged sevenfold...i've cried so many times to this song, especially when acouple of months ago someone close to me commited suicide. This person told me to get this song like acouple of weeks before he killed himself... and its like he wrote it (lyrics wise); absolutely beuatiful.
