Why is it so hard to like music these days?

Stop whinging! i named a whole bunch of artists better than the ones you mentioned in the first place and if your not gonna give them a chance cos they dont release single after single on mtv then sod you. all good music starts off as being below the mainstream, even your beloved gn'r, so get ouuta your own ass and listen to stuff that doesnt involve girls and cars (as crazy as that sounds)

The flaming lips? I heard one song from them. Pretty okay.

antony and the johnsons? Never heard of it. Just looked it up and one of their songs is You Are My Sister! Did Boy George sing on that? Whatever the case, if that song is anything to go by, it's okay. I wouldn't buy their CD though.

arctic monkeys? I don't know. I've heard about them. Hopefully they don't sound like Franz Ferdinand or the killers. Oh wait, they did: I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor! I didn't like that song at all.

radiohead? Don't really like them. That's not to say they're not good.

rufus wainwright? I have no idea who this is.

Ryan adams? Bryan Adams? Brian Adams is sweet.

pearl jam? Good.

bob dylan? I love this guy.

tool? Heard about it, haven't heard any of their music.

From that list, only Arctic Monkeys and Rufus Wainwright are recent.

The rest have been in the bussiness for quite a while now.

And as it is, unless Rufus Wainwright is absolutely godlike, the list you gave me is pretty redundant.

I'm pretty much forced to go back and listen to bands from the 80s, 70s, 60s just to get something decent.

Bring back the 80s you say?

Why the hell would you say that?

Today's music not good enough?

Oh, and about "it takes a while before it hits mainstream", are you sure?

Yeah, true for GNR, but they eventually made it.

Can I expect the same for any other rock band that plays actual rock n' roll?

I'm doubtful.

Looks like rock n' roll is dead.

As is reggae.

Oh and I will say this, Green Day rocks.

It's only after the release of American Idiot did I notice them getting played more and more on the radio.

slashs_servant, that's a very good point you made.

Radio just isn't the same anymore.

The whole fucking industry is the same any more.

Kings of Leon, The Darkness and The White Stripes are the ones I've heard, and like.

I'll try to check out the others.
