He was the premier guitarist in the 60's and even Jimi says he was heavily infulenced by Eric. I used to think Clapton was a little overrated until i listerned for Derek & The Domino's Live at the Fillmore East. It is a must have and is Clapton at his best, it shits on any of his playing in Cream. His playing is so emotional and precise. Actully after listerning to that record i would rate him as the best White bluesman ever. Do not judge until you have listerned to it.
