So he said "Iowa" not "Ireland".

I really agree with him, there are nearly no bands who change up their setlist from show to show. I went to a few concerts this summer and looked online for the setlist so i knew which songs to expect, and thats exactly what i got. 99% of artists keep the same setlist, I for one like it so that i know which songs i can expect to hear. He is cycling through the CD songs, and he will play more of them when we get the album.

He needs to keep the crowd involved throughout the concert and playing a bunch of CD songs will turn 80% of the crowd off - none of the 6 people that I am going to the Detroit show with are going to want to hear many CD songs, they dont know the lyrics, they aren't familiar with the songs and its a crowd killer when people dont know the lyrics and cant rock/sing along. If you've ever been to a concert where a band is promoting an unreleased cd, most people take that opportunity to visit the restroom. Even VR played about 6 or 7 STP/GNR songs when I went to see them at the State Theatre in Detroit. They realized that 80% of the people in the arena came to see them because they were a GNR/STP collaboration.

Also, most people here like Axl because he doesnt give a fuck, otherwise no one would still be here after nearly 15 years.

See ya in Detroit.

Want to ask those of you who flew into Puerto Rico to see the concert just how you all liked it. This was unfortunately my first GnR concert because, well, they never did come to PR beforehand. I have seen many many concerts before from everything from Metallica in their prime, Chilli Peppers, Primus, Tool, KoRn, Pantera, but GnR eluded me. What did you all think of the show, the band, the island, and the crowd? rock1

We had a good time. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton, where the band stayed (didn't mention where they were staying while I was there and writing on here because they were staying until Tuesday morning and I didn't want to blow their cover). That hotel was pretty nice- it had a good pool, great beach, and the casino was fine, even though they took a lot fo my $$$.

We went to a few bars here and there and then to a whorehouse/ strip club place called Lollipop. I met Beta, Frank, and saw Ron again. The arena was nice and like-new. My only complaint there was that it was impossible to buy a beer larger than 12oz. We were in the club seats, but the servicio was slow. This made for frequent trips to the beer line on the concourse.

I liked Old San Juan too- saw the fort and where the cruise ships come in, etc. I didn't eat good food with the exception of the night we ate in the restaurant at the Ritz. Every other place we went wasn't that great. San Juan overall seemed like a cool city to me and I will be back.

Best video from the show in Puerto Rico has to be typed in correctly to see. Go to youtube.com and type in the search bar Guns and Roses in PR and then click on the icon with the whole stage glowing. Amazing footage shot from the thrid tier of seats in the new indoor stadium in San Juan. Best footage I've seen for GnR on this tour yet. :anger: rock1

I have been trying to get an official figure of how many people were in the stadium for the PR show. I think it was anywhere between 12-13k. Anyone got an official number?

Was that the Live and Let Die video? If so, it was really great and sent chills down my spine. That is awesome song live IMO and all the pyros at the beginning and when it gets going, it's awesome. rock3

I thought about that, and I came up with an idea. Your in a concert, you have so much video space to record stuff, why not the new songs? Becuase people are not going off to the songs, they don't know the songs, why record them. Nobody here is recording the new songs because they don't identify with them. There are very few diehard fans to that extent that will suffer until getting new material now because this is a totally new band. Gone is Slash and that is huge. No new solos from him to look forward too. That said this new band certainly has the potential to put out a great album. I am sure the people in PR were not thinking of "oh new song" record it and paste on youtube.com. Then again, maybe they do have it recorded and are not aware of the demand for such rare footage.

Another awsome, awsome moment at the concert in Puerto Rico, link to Knocking on Heaven's Door with crowd panorama:

I think we all just want Axl to release the new album and start a new era for GnR. If Axl wants to just live in the past he'd be a lot better off if he phoned up Izzy, Slash, Duff, and Steven.

You must live in Iowa.
