ShadowOfTheWave
Thoughts? I respect some of the instrumentation and lyrics, but I can't get past the atrocious vocals.
RandallFlagg
I've only really delved into Burzum so far, I really really dig Det Som Engang Var, Fallen and Filosofem, Varg has a right shriek on him but some soothing croons at times believe it or not, I love the repetition of some of the tracks, his ambient stuff can be quite stunning as well.
Rdeyahlxp
I really like the instrumentation foremost and dig Black Metal bands like Immortal, Burzum at times. Varg has his fair share of cringeworthy moments tho, like that intro to "War". Contrary to most people into black metal I really like that 2011 sort of Greatest Hits package where he has repolished his songs. Some of his songs have really strong riffs and I like the angry/raw feel of it all.

bran
yeah definitely a big fan of black metal. i am more into the ambient/atmospheric stuff IE appalachian winter, midnight odyssey, evil feast, darkspace etci also like the second wave stuff especially buruzum and darkthrone( under a funeral moon, being one of my all time favorites)its a sub genre that early on was really was put into a box in regards to lyrical content and its overall style and production. in the last decade or more black metal has really expanded its sound quite a bit and has become a very diverse sub genre. Bansidhe
No mention of Venom yet? They're pretty much responsible for the whole genre! They always had a slightly raw, punk edge to them which is a world away from the church burning, Scandinavian types who appeared throughout the 90s. RandallFlagg
Snu Mikrokosmos Tegn is probably my favourite Burzum track from the records I've heard, DEE-DAOOOW-DUMMMMMM that riff is simply amazing.
