axlslash
Ok, here's the thing. I can pull a good blues solo. I'm not going to be overly modest here, I'm a good guitar player. Now, I can handle playing in most styles. The only style I can't manage to sound quality in is the Hendrix sort of psych-rock-funk-blues style. Any tips? santana
Keep it loose man. Play as loose as you can, and then try and play it even more loose. And don't forget to use lots of bending and vibrato.

moreblack
Yer thinking like Wind Cries Mary, that type of Hendrix playing? He basically plays the chords, but while still doing some hammer ons and pull offs on some parts of that chord...As long as you know what chord you're playing, you can do all sorts of weird things with it.SRV and John Mayer are also exceptionally good at that.
