I can : " "
Thanks all...
I guess this is exactly as I expected. Maybe it is good to keep the brain behind "Silk Worms" out of the loop anyway.
Peace.

I assume he didn't say much, but I'd be curious to hear some of the highlights.

When this album is "finally" released, what do you think will be in the liner notes?
In 1986 "Boston" released their 3rd album, 7 years after their 2nd album. Their first 2 were huge hits, and then we had to wait what seemed to be a long time for the 3rd. Every one in the band left except for Tom Scholz and Brad Delp. When it was released, Scholz gave detailed descriptions about all the songs, when they were written, recorded, tweaked, etc....
Since Chinese Democracy has been in the works for at least 10 years, do you think Axl will give detailed descriptions about when each song was recorded, tweaked, etc. I know he'll list who played what, who wrote what, etc...
And it will be very interesting to hear who he rips on ie: Buckethead
Did I really just read a comparison between Boston and GNR? I have "more than a feeling" that such comparisons are nutty.
PS- I am hilarious.

Friend just called me from an airport in Cleveland, him and I have a bet on if Chinese Democracy will come out before May 1st or not. Apparently he has the new Spin magazine and Chuck Klosterman reviewed the album. He specifically mentioned song titles that were not ones that were played live or leaked, one song was entitled "Sunday Morning Strip Bar" or something like that and another was "Cowboy Song". It also mentioned Rhiad, CITR and Silkworms. There were specific references to the liner notes which credited Zakk Wylde as a guitarist on a few songs. Sorry I cant post a link Im stuck at work but if anyone has seen the new Spin or lives near a place that sells magazines go get it. If Im wrong I apologize.
Of course... things in Cleveland are always a little ahead of the rest of the world. Sounds like BS to me, and I'm not buying Wylde on any of CD

Silk Worms is the worst song ever written.
Listen motherfuckers to this song that should be heardThrown down in the gutter, it’s more than you deserve
Kneeling fucking virgin, you know that's what you are
Pussy full of maggots, isn't that absurd
What can I do?
With a bitch like you
You know that it’s true
All I have I ask of you I'll be dammed If it’s not true
A bitch like you
Get your head down in the sky
Fucking little schemer got yourself a broken heart
Syphilitic priestess, baby I know who you are
A parasitic demon sucking acid through your heart
What can I do?
With a bitch like you
You know that it’s true
All I have I ask of you I'll be dammed If it’s not true
A bitch like you

i seriusly think this guy hasnt heard better...................................
theres no "softnes"
No, I have "better." It rocks only because Buckethead does some crazy-cool guitar stuff. That is probably why he isn't with the band anymore. Plus, take away BH's cool stuff, and you have some more soft stuff. "Just my luck, I fell in love and baby all that I wanted..." Most of the lyrics in that song are pure syrup. Actually, when I heard the instrumental, I was totally stoked over better. Then I got the full one with the lyrics and it took it down a few notches.

It is hard to argue against that when Axl sings, "Is that star-dust on my feet?" in The Blues.
STAR-DUST?????
Yes, it is, Axl, and it is proof that you've gone soft!!!
And an added editorial: with as soft as Axl is getting based on the demos, how long till he starts releasing
Kenny Rogers-esc albums, i.e., "Axl Sings Lame Love Songs and Ballads with Celine Dion." My bet is by 2010, that is what he'll be doing. Having the occasional November Rain / Don't Cry is cool, but I hear mostly wuss tracks on these demos.

Just looking on the bright side here. I personally think that Axl will have a nervous breakdown someday and destry all Chinese Democracy recordings, and we'll never hear it, but...
At least some new tunes will come out as recordings (sorry Axl, but bootleggers will win here) surface from the forthcoming summer shows. I mean, in 2002, we got Chinese Dem, Madagascar, The Blues, Rhiad (underrated- reminds me of Immigrant Song, but no good versions exist that I know of), and Silk Worms (and I am still scarred from hearing this huge peice of crap).
So some new stuff has to surface!

My Dog is dragging his ass across the floor...looks cool...think I'll join him...
Dude, that is probably the most interesting thing I have read in a while. That deserves it's own section... Some sort of dogs dragging their asses section.

Can people stop asking questions modelled after the following:
Will axl have braids on the next tour?
Will CD be released before the tour?
Will GNR reunite after CD is over?
Will Axl use his new voice on the tour?
Do you think the CD will be an enhnaced CD?
FUCK OFF...no one knows the answers!!!! Stop being a fucking loser and go live your life...
There needs to be a separate section for "THEORETICAL QUESTIONS"
I come into this section for the latest, not stupid no-answer questions.
and yea this should be in rant..but i wanted to get ppl's attention with it...especially the stupid poster doing it.
Would you be best described as a turd sandwich or a giant douche?

You'll need a better source than Nepszabagasagasasda online, i'm afraid.
hahaha
Lol yeah. This is obviously no official confirmation, but at least its more realistic than most stories posted on here, as Monday is a normal day for releasing albums right?
In the US it is Tuesdays.

And my God, what did S.W. say about Axl's songwriting? I could care less what he says about his hair, looks real enough to me, but his writing? I suppose those words are my inspiration for the following, thanks for tolerating me in my rant.
Boy do I feel better! The more you listen to these tracks, the more beautifully blue and sparkling clear the sky of doubt becomes. The man is a great builder of songs, he's great at it, nobody in his genre today comes close. Writer writes a basically simple chord structure, thinks of melody to go with structure, sounds nice. Axl? He comes up with intertwining melodies that are all over the place in perfect harmony, and creates a thought provoking, mental image evoking, anthem out of nothing.
It's also the mark of a great song that they grow on you more and more, maybe them more getting into you than you into them, such as CITR and TWAT. It's easy to hear the hard rockin hook of Better and IRS and say "these are the hits", and because of that initial appeal, they probably are. I see much more in TWAT, CITR, and The Blues though. Here I see Axl really creating something special.
will still be listened to and played on radio in 20, 30, 50 years? And just make it really fair, I'll only post some of GnR's album against all Of STP's
A:
Vasoline
Down
Wicked Garden
Big Empty
Plush
Big Bang Baby
Creeep
Lady Picture Show
Trippin On A Hole In A Paper Heart
Interstate Love Song
All In The Suit That You Wear
Sex Type Thing
Days Of The Week
Sour Girl
Plush (Acoustic Version)
Long Way Home (Live) (Bonus Track)
B
Welcome To The Jungle
Sweet Child O' Mine
Patience
Paradise City
Civil War
Don't Cry (Original)
November Rain
Case rested, rant over, thank you again for listening.
Peace, Jim
Dude, as a fan of both STP and GNR, GNR is way better, and will be remembered that way. STP is pretty much a Pearl Jam ripoff band. With that said...
In spite of your huge boner for Axl, there is no proof the guy can write crap. Most GNR songs were collaborations, and I'm sorry, but the new demos don't come close to past GNR stuff. Maybe CD will be great, but not of the songs leaked are the better songs on it.
Axl is a great frontman, but there is a reason he relied so heavily on cover tunes after AFD, and there is a reason he hasn't released crap in years. I am starting to buy into the rhetoric that he couldn't write his own stuff. The new stuff sounds like reprocessed Elton John tunes.

New Guns N' Roses' Album Out Next Month
Legendary rockers Guns N' Roses will release their first album in 13 years next month when the long awaited 'Chinese Democracy' finally hits store shelves.
The LP has been more than a decade in the making after a series of postponements and production problems.
The band last released new material in 1993 with their covers album 'The Spaghetti Incident.'
Frontman Axl Rose has promised fans a more "complex" record and hinted at festival appearances this summer.
The new album contains 13 tracks with titles including "Better, There Was A Time" and "The Blues."

Axl Rose is fuckin class.
I started a thread like this a while ago and it disappeared, and listenin to the bickerin in other threads about `new` GNR and how Axl is nothin without Slash n co I decided to start it again to get the positive vibes runnin
Say what you like about Axl, but out of everyone who was is GNR, he is still there. Hes given 10+ years of his life to makin GNR work, and I thank him for it.
Axl Rose is class. See you at Download & Dublin!!
Grimo.
Ummmm, 10 years to making things work? What do you have to show for that? Any albums? No, some pretty unimpressive demos for the most part. You can also add standing-up many fans (myself included) on a poorly attended tour in 2002.
No offense, but if you feel from what you've seen that he's spent 10 years making GNR work, you are a moron.
XOXO Screetcher

From what I can tell they are original, but who knows.
FUCK I DON'T HAVE THEM!!!!!BTW: are those original versions or are they just edited versions of the leaked demos?

Hey, if you've read any of my past posts you know that though I am excited to hear new GNR material, I have been less than amazed by the demos- especially the 1:20 version of better (haven't heard the full)... just my opinions, of course, but......
I just found the Better instrumental and it is insane!!!!!!! This thing is amazing! Buckethead is the man... I've heard some shredding in my day, but the arrangements in that song and BH's guitar work inparticular is really really great and innovative... This is the first demo that has really gotten me stoked for a great album!!!
Peace,

Ok, time to show some love to Dizzy here... Is Silk Worms the worst song ever?
Hard to argue against that. Many a bad song has been written by other artists, especially in recent years, but I think Silk Worms takes the cake for the worst ever. Do you agree? Or is it maybe just the 2nd or 3rd worst song ever?
Share your thoughts on this piece-o-poo.
XOXO

I agree with this dude...
and I'll add that I think all copies of Silk Worms should be detroyed. It may be the worst song ever by anyone (thanks, Dizzy).

Chinese democracy is an average song, but I like it. As for the guitar, all of the guitar in the new songs is pretty mediocre. besides for a few of buckethead's parts which are pretty intricate.
I agree completely. BH's solos are nuts, though. He is great (and gone).
-
WAAF;;; they are playing WORLDWIDE SUICIDE BABY;;;
Yea man! PJ rocks! They said it is all request... Someone call for IRS.... I am here in Florida listening to Boston via feed.
-
Yup, PJ, a band that gives a crap about its fans and hasn't had writers block for 14 years! Wish I could say the same on both fronts for Axl!
Didn't the new Pearl Jam single come out yesterday, but their new album isn't due 'till May 2 or something? I wouldn't get too wound up just yet.
yes and i lov it.. WORLDWIDE SUICIIIIDE;;;;
-
Silkworms blows. I'd rather listen to Matt Sorum's boring weak drum solo or Dom Deluese taking a dump than that song again. It is aweful and cheesy, and the fake accent in the vocals is so lame.
As for Chinese Democracy, pretty cool song. As for guitar work, as someone who plays guitar, it is basically a 3 to 4 power chord song that most beginning guitar players could learn to play before the song even ends. I like the song, but the "guitar work" might as well be a Greenday song.
Peace,
Screetcher
I didn't like it much at first either, but everybody should burn it to a CD, then turn the volume on your stereo/headphones to FULL, and enjoy. The song is great, the lyrics are good, the guitar work is great, everything about the song kicks ass.
This is to be done with the soundboard version.
Agreed. I think Chinese Democracy and Silkworms are severly underrated
