  1. Especially Estranged.  Man, I was loving that.  Slash just nailed it and made me feel all fuzzy N' shit.  Frank just destroyed it.  What an absolute disgrace to play all the wrong shit and ruin an epic.

How the hell can Duff stand him playing the wrong beat?!

  2. I'm sorry, but this is going to seem like I'm trolling according to the mods here, but I'm not.  I'm simply speaking the truth.

I have to get this off my chest, but Frank's playing with GN'R is nothing short of disgraceful.

I'm so happy to have Duff, Slash and Axl back together and I've always said that they are the bare minimum to justify calling this band Guns N' Roses and damn, am I excited about it all.  Slash is the greatest rock guitarist of all time, Duff, of course is fucking amazing and I'm just so stoked to see Axl doing this again with them and also is kicking arse.  I wholeheartedly welcome Richard to Guns N' Roses because he fits in and is one mother of a player, but once again, to the reason for my post, Frank.

I am laying here in bed watching/listening to the lastest show on my phone and to be frank, Frank is totally ruining this.

He is doing fuck all right.

He plays too fast, plays the wrong beat, plays the wrong fills and is totally out of time in places.

I am a drummer also and I know for a fact that I could play every GN'R song, note for note.  It's not difficult drumming.  Fitting in with the band is the most important thing and I'm damn sure that Slash and Duff are not happy about it.

This could potentially be a train wreck.

I know they can't stop the show right now to rectify this, but as soon as they get the chance, something needs to be done.  Doesn't matter who it is, either Frank needs to go home and play the GN'R catalogue in its entirety to LEARN the songs or they need to get someone who knows them already.

Sorry to be a downer on the reunion, because I am so excited and satisfied about it all, but Frank is THAT BAD.

Not a bad drummer all in all, but bad for GN'R.

Am I the only one not surprised at some people's less than positive attitudes/comments about this tour? Over the last 15 years or so, I always wondered what the negative people would do should the band get back together and for years, I was always left with a few guesses. One of them was of course the whole "not the original five? fuck off" people. I always knew getting Steven on drums was just a pipe dream even if they all got back together. His drug issues and emotional instability puts him in a place of such liability that pulling off a full world tour would be foolish and too risky. Izzy was always going to be a "guest" spot as well because he just doesn't want to tour the world. I mean, think about it, the guy didn't want to do it back in 1991 when GNR were 10 times better than Taylor Swift... what are the chances now?

Anyway, it's pretty hilarious to see people pissed off at the notion of seeing a GNR lineup that is EXACTLY the same as the UYI lineup (3 out of 5). No one gave a shit back then (GNR was the biggest band in the world) but all of a sudden, the same ratio isn't good enough? It's ridiculous lol.

So I have come to the conclusion that there's just people out there that NEED to be negative. They're negative people. It's what they do... it defines them. They probably walk around being negative but everything else in their life as well. If the original 5 were touring, they'd probably be in here bitching that they don't move around like they did in their 20's, old, lame, washed up, cash grabbing whores... etc. You get the picture.

I for one am perfectly fine with the UYI ratio. Izzy would be great if there were new music involved but as a live performer, we're not missing much. Gilby was fine back in the early 90's and Fortus will fill the same roll. Steven has an amazing groove but again, not the greatest live drummer in the history of rock n roll and NOT the drummer on the Illusion tracks. Personally, I'd rather have Sorum but Frank will handle it well. As far as the new girl, who cares? I barely noticed Dizzy back in the 90's and I won't notice him now, let alone an unknown second keyboardist. I mean, shit... they use to travel with like 5-7 women singers and horn players for sucks sake and that was again, when they were the biggest band in the world. No one gave a shit either. I'm happy with the UYI line up, and for those of you who are as well, cheers. Just ignore these...er... people.

I agree and have always said post Y2K that it was never Guns N' Roses until you have Axl, Slash and Duff at a minimum.  Now we have that back, it's just so exciting.  I'm not even upset about Izzy not being there.   I have accepted Richard and think he is the man for the job.  He is the shit.  You know.... screw Izzy, he doesn't want to do it, well stiff shit.  Fortus is one rockin' axeman and really cool.   Even myself being a drummer, I'm not devastated by no Steven or Matt.  GN'R ain't about drums as much as it is about guitars.  However, I'm not the greatest fan of Frank because he puts his own spin on things.  I don't like that as a drummer.  He's there to play the songs we know and love, so he should play them right.   Anyhow, if he's good enough for Slash and Duff, then he's good enough for me.  The others are like... whatever.   Like I said, when you have Axl, Slash and Duff in the same band.... It's Guns N' Fucking Roses baby!

I gotta admit. Hearing Slash play the leads and riffs he wrote live is a billion times better than hearing anyone else try to replicate it. I guess that is an obvious statement, but it just really is what it should be.

It is obvious and glad you admit it.

It was very frustrating between the years of 2000 - 2015 hearing the majority of  people on this forum say that Bucket, Finck and all the other pretenders played the real GN'R songs better than Slash.  This forum makes so much more sense now and much more enjoyable to read now that those people seemed to have disappeared.... I think.... Where are those people now.  ?. Maybe they've changed their mind and realised they were wrong?

Things are back to normal now and it feels like I've woken from a bad dream.

  5. Because he doesn't want to...get over it.

Get over it? You act like the person cries everyday cause his favorite singer won't reunite with the original band. I think he's just curious. Why do you get so annoyed when people mention a reunion? 90% of the fans want a reunion, get over it.

100% of fans want a reunion. If you don't, you're not a fan of Guns N Roses. I've been saying this since Axl displayed a new bunch of clowns under the Gnr name in 2000. It was lonely in this forum for the first 10ish years of its existence, now I feel like I've been proven right. Ha ha fuck the non beleivers.

  6. Original World Tour. So what was your difficult question?

A reunion would be cheesy as hell. I would rather hear the Buckethead outakes - maybe as a triple album - and then call it a day.

    You're just a dickhead

  7. Some of you might remember that GNR(Axl) was sued in the late 90's early 2000's by an Indiana preacher for supposedly lifting this song. It was written supposedly and recorded on a spiritual album in the late 70's early 80's . I remember there was a huge thread on this topic in the very early days of this forum -back in 2001 or so. The guy came forward saying that he didnt listen to rock music so he had no idea until someone pointed out that his song and GNR's song sounded and had very similar lyrics . Axl and Izzy being from Indiana with Axls religious background was suspect. People came out swinging at the alternative version lyrics as being an attempt to cover up the fact that the material wasnt authentic Guns and Roses written . There was a topic where the other band members had no idea and had thought that it was theirs and theirs alone. It was one of the myriad of lawsuits that GNR /Axl was facing in the 93-2008 era.

Does anybody here remember that or would know what ever became of that?

Although I don't know what happened, I do remember that thread. I'm one of the originals to register here and don't post much, but I constantly read. Funny though, that was the one and only time I ever heard about the Don't Cry being a rip-off, probably crap.

  8. That pretty much tells us that gnr in there current lineup wont be there next year.

No one would want them there. Download Festival is for quality big name bands. Axl's attempt to prove he is bigger than GN'R would get bashed so bad for playing in front of an audience that doesn't have a pysical attraction to Axl.

Axl wouldn't play there either, as he can only get away with playing to the afore mentioned type. He knows he'd get slammed for playing in front of an audience that would be there to see other bands.

  9. Plenty of options to pick from. None though that I would select.

However if 'Yes, I'd love to see a reunion of Guns N' Roses as Axl has proved himself as a no-one without the classic line-up and has clearly made a 20 year mistake' was there I would pick that, but it's not and I don't agree with any other options so I can't participate in this poll.

  11. Just listen to it. It easy to pick who is playing as it's easy to pick who is singing. Unless of course you think some re-recorded version sounds 'better' or 'fuller'because of course in that case you have a hearing problem. If you say that any re-recorded version or live version is even slightly better in any way, then you are either an antagonist, a liar, wrong or stupid. End of story. Fuck you all.
