  1. The first one was a song from the End Of Days 1999 movie soundtrack and if it gets on the album it is 7 years old (sounds fairly promising especially since the song sucked rhino...).

    What the hell?!?!

How old is this guy? 12?

    What a waste of trees

  2. Cool. It seems the big machine is starting to move....Now, more than ever I have the feeling that SOON is the word B)

Meh. Maybe Axl was diagnosed with cancer, and this is the only valid explanation as to why he's had so much activity as of late.

    I don't think that's funny, a really disturbing post

Yeah dont say that kinda stuff man, seriously uncool <_<

Very seriously uncool and hits a little too close to home for me :fuckyou:

  3. guys, I work at a rock station here in Virginia, and if you saw the amount of eq racks and other equipment we have in there to sweeten up the sound of songs being broadcasted out, you would realize that the IRS versions that you guys are hearing that you think are cleaner are really the demo versions we have just run through all the audio processing racks. I mean it is a huge difference, especially when you do a A/B comparison right there in the studio.

    Where at in VA?

  4. WARCHILD!!

YOU REMIND ME OF A SMALL MEXICAN CHIHUAHUA

Let's break this statement down, shall we?

a small mexican chihuaha is a dog.

a dog is man's best friend.

    dog spelled backwards is GOD.

so, what do make of all of this?

Warchild is a loyal friend and a mygnr.com forum supporter GOD

sidenote: if warchild is a dog then he can play with my chew toy anytime *woof woof* *meow*

    :wub::heart: :xmasssanta:

Sometimes my arms bend back

I like the Warchizzle. I always appreciate people who post in riddle form and are fans of Syd rock2 fucking Barrett

  5. Who gives a fuck!

As long as one likes a song, why should one care about what some people think???!

As long as I like it, and it's work for me that's enough!

Besides, how good does it feel to hear Axl singing NEW songs??!!

    It's priceless!

The general public can jam two thumbs up their asses as far as I'm concerned. The general public is too interested in sucking Simon Cowells cock and making Beyonce Knowles richer.

I always though art was subjective anyways but what the fuck do I know. By the way, TWAT is an awesome song

  6. hmmm.....it's hard to pick out a precise influence. As I've said before ALL of the songs sound like a hodge podge of different sounds and influences.

TWAT in particular is very challenging which I like. The songs arrangement is kinda like math rock.

  7. Merck, Axl: Fuck you.

God forbid some fans want to listen to some average at best songs. Get over the excitement of the first new studio music from this band in seven years. Is it listenable? Sure, but its not the "greatest thing ever" as some of you fucking dolts have said.

You know, I was excited too. I thought it was a step in the right direction, a step towards perhaps bigger things. But its not. Its another farce, another leak that wasn't supposed to happen. How Axl has to crawl back to his cave, sulk, and throw a pity party while he whacks off for another year or two.

I'm listening to the songs. I have them, if anyone else wants them, I'll give them to them as well. Enough of the bullshit. The fans of this band have suffered long enough to be dicked around time, and time again. The only regret I have is that the dingbat who leaked them in the first place didn't leak the rest of what he has.

All of you site owners are spineless, ball-less, dick sucking fools. Get off of Axl's dick. The songs are out, if you want to talk about them, or share them... do so. What is this Merck cock sucker gonna do about it, sue you? To quote Rocky Balboa from Rocky V: Sue me for what?

It seems like this Merck guy only comes crawling out of the woodwork when there is a threat to be made. Management isn't only there to threaten poor, helpless fans. They are also there for promotion purposes, relaying the positive stuff about a band, and an upcoming album. Something there has been nothing of. So shove the threats of legal action up your ass, Merck.

Music is meant to be heard. Its unfortunate that this is the way it had to be heard, but regardless... it was heard. Its all over the net, in places Merck will never even find it if it bit him in the ass. Howard Stern played it, and this tool expects people to just delete it, and pretend it never even happened. It happened, and the reaction to it has been about 85% positive, even from sources like Metal-Sludge who rag on Axl every opportunity they get.

I know I'm going to get blasted for ragging on your braided hero, and thats fine. I've been banned from half a dozen GnR forums for stating things that some people are too chicken shit to say. I love Axl, and the band(new and old) as well, but I'm not gonna suck the dick of a man who has given nothing to society for 13 years.

    Get a fucking job, Axl.

Holy shit. God bless you my man for cutting through this never ending parade of bullshit rock1 rock3

  8. Nirvana were a good band. I still dislike grunge music as a whole though. Classic rock is definitely making a comeback, has anyone seen the amount of Zeppelin t-shirts around?

Yeah I liked them myself although I preferred Mudhoney,Earth and Sonic Youth (although they're considered no wave). The only thing grunge did was kill off crappy hair metal but grunge had no staying power.

  9. That isn't exactly a new thing. I remember back when I was in high school (89-93) there were those of us who discovered classic rock because there were those of us who didn't relate to Nirvana or grunge.

I know there are some here who call Nirvana shit but take it into comparission sakes. If you only had one option would it be Nirvana or Dashboard Confessional? huh?

I think it's pretty fucking jake that classic rock is being rediscovered but do you think it will be taken as a purely nostalgic thing or could some of it be incorporated into something new? Nice article and all but look at who is still selling records and Billboard/Soundscan. As much as I like them, I don't want Led Zeppelin/Black Sabbath clones or GNR clones.

The reasons as to why classic rock (60's-70's) sounds soooo different from what's out now is because

    1. Better musicianship (including lyrics)

    2. More and cheaper drugs (LSD used to be legal)

    3. Better economy for the music industry

    4. Free love (No AIDS)

As Bill Hicks would say, music back then had heart, soul and balls.

  10. Little Ceaser - Had only 2 albums, a self-titled from 90 and Influence from 1992. Great bluesy/bar band.

The Four Horsemen - Again, only 2 albums "Nobody Said It Was Easy" and "Gettin Pretty Good At Barely Gettin By" they were that rare breed on melding Skynard and AC/DC (way before Nashville Pussy did it)

IMO, could've been the next GNR if not for grunge, personal problems within the band. Their frontman (Frank C Starr) was as charasmatic and as much as a bad ass as Axl was but unfortunatly died in 1997 after a motorcycle accident

T-Ride -- Only had one album from 1992 but was as technically and sonically perfect as they come (it should, it took 7 years to record). Imagine Freddie Mercury, Phil Lynott, Malmsteen and Tommy Lee getting together to jam.

All of these bands are long gone and their albums are out of print but well worth the trouble to find and worth the expense.
