this professional audio recording shows (it actually exposes) why this threeunion with four aliens will never be gnr

this is just Axl (with a really hard-to-listen-to and impossible-to-enjoy voice, but still rocking), Slash (great as ever) and Duff (good as usual) playing with four aliens who completely fuck with the sound that these three guys create

i have no idea why would anyone want to listen to this crap instead of listening to any of the many actual gnr live recordings from 1986-1991

i can see only 3 reasons to listen to this nonsense more than once

#1) if you were there at the show

#2) if they had played any new song

#3) if you are a friend or relative of one of the four aliens

other than that, why listen to this horrible version of sweet child o mine?

despite slash obvious greatness, this is at least 180 times worse than any pro-shot recordings of GNR from 1986-1991

Some just enjoy it, some may even love it. I like the fact that Axl and Slash reunited and for me it's obvious that 50 something year old man has different voice than 20 something year old man. 3 (3,5 including reed ;) ) is better than 1,5. I like it and will be listening to it because #4) I ENJOY IT

    Even that is not true.

The band, overall, hasn't sounded better in 23 years but that isn't necessarily true of Axl...

I mean, would you really say it would suck to get 2006-2010 Axl back with THIS band ?

Age - performance ability relation is the best now. Far more work needed to do something like this at his middle 50s than anything else ever before imho. Still, 2010 is the best but not do sure bout 06. Not to tell that he is closer to look like in his prime ( w/o beard, moustaches, bizzare hair stuff And shit) And his attitude is awesome, best ever imo. And it's great that new generation may see live one of the best rock bands ever. For me, not only the voice that matters.

  3. Let's go back to the topic, i filmed this in Prague 2 days ago. They played "Bad Rain" !

Show was great, band sounds still great on stage.

Yesterday in Poland, the local superstar Doda Queen came on stage to sing "Sweet Child o Mine" with the guys.

She is not Queen of anything, she just entitled herself like that. Dorota Rabczewska aka Doda, that's what we used to call her. Her voice is solid but attitude and pop-like bullshit with pathetic lyrics is far from good. we've go lotta great musicians in Poland, much closer to rock music then Dorota, we respect and love Slash, so for most of us seeing him with her on one stage performing one of the legendary songs of one of the best rock bands of all time was really weird. And sad. Doda Queen, local mega star my ass.

  4. From someone who recently interviewed Slash:

You always do your homework before you interview an artist. But, before you interview Slash, you have to submit this homework to his puritan management which makes sure not one controversial question (read Axl and/or Slashs personal life) trickles to the top hat donning legend. As we anxiously awaited the ex-Guns N Roses guitarist on the 21st floor of the Taj Lands End in Bandra, we were subtly reminded once again by his tour manager, Cheryl Hall to stick to the questionnaire.

And people talk about Guns' management.. they're both as bad as each other.

I don't see any problems with having ground rules like this when he's not been in GnR for 20 years and is promoting a tour that has nothing to do with GnR.

    Exactly.

Every interviewer in the world wants to ask him about Axl. It's like friends wanting to talk to you about your ex-girlfriend from high school twenty years ago.

I wouldn't be as nice as he is with the questions list. Mine would be simple. "Any questions about Axl and the interview is immediately over."

On the other hand, his legacy - Slash as a brand which is different then Saul Hudson - is associated with Axl Rose and Guns N' Roses. It's like being and actor and fighting with paparazzi. You can always change your profession. But yes, you're right, it might be annoying to always been asking the same question about the same thing. Plus he wrote his book, old times closed. When something new happens, he will let us know eventually.
