  1. Freedom of speech... :rofl-lol:

Way to go Axl; maybe the only reason why some people are fan of GN'R are because of the guitar work of Slash and is therefore the reason why they go to the concerts.

so you guys just ruled out what was said in those videos because the guys talking didn't give a fast-paced answer?

If someone answered some long, detailed answer to this question then it's clearly that they know about this even though they say they didn't... these guys are just surprised and confused like "uhm what? no.. I was at the security meeting and no, didn't hear anything like that"

Madison said she didn't believe them because they sounded like they had no idea what they were talking about-- of course they wouldn't know what they're talking about had they never heard of this before!

and the guy in the first video apparently was the Vice President / People & Patron Services or the venue

  2. Revolver!!!! That's the coolest thing that could ever happen to a GNR fan!!!! Congratulations to you!!!!! Enjoy every fucking minute of it and make it a story never to forget!!!!!!! Being yourself will do, hehe. rock4 rock2 rock1 rock3

P.S. Don't forget to party hard backstage!!!! :rofl-lol:

Roy man will do! will fuckin' do!! and believe me.. I won't forget to party hard.. it's my last night of the Canadian trip which begins on the 24th (attending London show and Montreal) - Hope I meet up with you guys in the pre-show parties for both (and after-party after London!!)

Vá djöfuls heppni maður, innilega til hamingju með þetta og skemmtu þér sem allra best maður

hey maður! long time no see!!

takk kærlega og mun gjöra það :D

  3. I understand why Axl, if he gave this order, wouldn't want to have Slash's face staring at him all night. The guy has made his life a living hell for the past 15 years, 15 fucking years. Can you imagine if, thanks to one man who was once your friend, your world and repuation was torn down to the point where you know that no matter what you do you just can't win? Where everything you do will have shit thrown at it? That would cripple you emotionally.

Would you want that mans face staring at you while you try to enjoy something that took you 15 years to build?

That same man is tattooed on his arm and responsible for many of the songs that GNR play to this very day.

It's a fucking t-shirt. Fans can wear what they want.

    Not anymore they can't :P

Yes Slash helped write the songs, and they are great fucking songs but that doesn't change the fact that he has conciously said things that have damaged Axl in a big way. If I was Axl I sure as hell wouldn't want to be reminded of him while I'm on stage. I'm not arguing the pros and cons of this but I'm just seeing it from Axl's point of view and it's an understandable one.

maybe the people in the front row and security can spot them during the opening act and that way it wouldn't make as much fuzz about it.

also, Slash is tattooed on his forearm so this face will be there no matter how many shirts you get people to turn inside out =/

but personally I don't really care.. doesn't touch me in any way possible and if that's the way Axl wants it to be then so be it.. of course some people are gonna want to raise hell and get their money refunded and that's okey.. he most likely knows that can happen but if he still wants this to be done I, personally, can respect that and not give a shit, it's not my place anyway to make a stand for something like this.

EDIT: as dumb as I think it is to bring something as big as a top hat to a rock show where you're jumping around and having fun but those who want to stand perfectly still to hold their big-ass hats on their heads should be allowed to since the current GN'R guitarist DJ Ashba performs with one ... IDK :shrugs:

  4. From Fernando on HTGH:

We did not advise any security to ban any sort of apparel.... If they did, they did it on their own accord, or under someone else's order - from within their management.

Can we squash it now? Or should we discuss it for like 10days, then discuss about why we discussed it for 10 days, for another 2weeks... then, reignite the conversation on how Axl himself was at the venue doors, telling everyone that Slash linkings and/or apparel is not allowed.

    .................................

    Ali

    There is a reliable source

he posted this on HTGTH? they're actually discussing this there?

  5. that's so sweet! I am so glad that a hardcore fan won one of these things for a change1 Have a blast man. Can't wait to hear all about it.

yeah and Rockstar Weekly wants to publish my story.. though I think they're only talking about the backstage experience but not my whole trip which will hopefully include something great! I'll post about my trip on MyGNR before I talk with Rockstar Weekly

EDIT: and also, what guitar lesson-contest were you guys talking about in the first page or so (or maybe it was the other Backstage Pass-thread)

  6. I don't support it but quit the "viva la revolution" attitude. You can't "fight the system" in this case.

Axl knows better than to ever try something like this in the U.S.A. He would be playing in front of an empty venue.

    .

I truly doubt Axl's the one behind this thing... most likely just promoters being paranoid because they've seen those shirts being a problem before and are afraid that something would happen

  7. Gee. Wow. I guess if they're releasing more blocks of tickets then that must mean that these shows aren't selling very well right? They must be getting desperate. Fuck, I feel so bad for Axl.

Or it means they're adding sections they has previously not considered.

yeah that's the message I got from it =/ the fans want more tickets so they release more tickets... fail to see how it can be the other way around

  8. thanks everyone!

and nah, my date will be the lovely one who got me a place to stay in Montreal (spent all my money on flight and tickets so I can't afford a hotel or anything)

but did I understand this right.. I won 2 backstage passes and 2 tickets to the show too? does anyone know?

  9. This is the email I got:

    Hi Eli,

Because the original winner of the contest is unable to attend the concert, we went straight to Bumblefoot to make sure he was OK that we sent someone else before actually informing our second choice. In Bumblefoot's own words, they forefitted their prize by going on Twitter saying that couldn't go.

Congratulations. You have now won the contest. You were originally selected second in the competition - it's always good to select two in case the winner doesn't work out - but we needed to wait for confirmation from Bumblefoot.

Your original email said you were interested in Montreal. Is this correct?

Additionally, I would love to have two pages in the upcoming magazine for you to tell your story and show a couple photos from your trip. The story should be about 1,200 words and the photos need to be at least 5 megapixels.

Congratulations. We will be in touch with more shortly.

Bumble emailed me right after and told me congrats! posted about this in the "Win Backstage Passes"-thread but just wanted people to see that it was luckily one of us who won, and for those who read my story in that thread and see what I'm going through to see them live.. this is just.. the greatest thing ever!

and thanks to everyone who's been showing support and hoping I'd survive my trip hahah

    see you guys in Canada

  10. FYI, I JUST purchased a florr ticket for the Edmonton Show. I've tried many times, as recent as yesterday, but didn't get a bite until today...

Leads me to believe that there are some available for other cities as well...

yeah I noticed there are floor tickets for the Montreal show.. and when I bought my ticket (late November I think it was) the floor and the first rows of seating were "sold out"

  11. Great!! thanks!

What a surprise, Axl's missing. All those guys must secretly make fun of Axl and call him a dick I bet.

lololoooololloll they're probably like "hey man.. he's a dick" loololoololl

    just drop dead, please
