  1. Nobody likes this tiresome arguing but it is was it is. If it bothers you so much then stop coming here.

It usually stops when the band becomes active again.

  2. nuts to any of that, what we wanna know is if Chelsea will turn their season around and win anything this year...

    Will anyone beat Barcelona?

Nope, Barca will win again... La Liga and the Champions League :krider:

I would gladly put money on a Barca Madrid final. I would have been willing to tip Real but then I saw Barca spank them earlier this season.

  3. Axl said that Sorry was based on many things, like each portion of the lyrics relates to something different. One of those subjects is Slash, in my view anyway, so when Axl says the song isn't about Slash he isn't lying, the song was not written purely with Slash in mind, just certain lyrics relate to him.

  4. Didn't Axl say something about letting other people put their own interpretations on the songs before he came out with his own thinking behind it?

He talked a fair bit about Catcher though.

I remember Slash saying that Axl likes to try and form the image in his head into a song. That always reminds me of Locomotive in how it has this strong churning beat.

  5. When put your name on a contract you need to be of sober mind and thought. Drugs can't be an issue in the actual signing of the contract so you can assume they agreed to it with a clear mind.

  6. LaRocker, you can't force or manipulate someone into signing a legal document because it would instantly nulify the document. It is illegal and, as Indigo said, punishable by a jail term. If Slash's lawyers could prove Axl forced him into a contract, which I have no doubt in my mind they have tried, then Axl would no longer own the name, the fact that he still owns the name shows Axl did not trick or force them into putting pen to paper.

But how could you prove such thing? I believe that if Slash acused, his evidence was weak on that.

If some bank hand tactics were applied then there would no doubt be people willing to back him up. Duff, Matt, Niven, Gilby, Izzy and any of the dozens involved in the band at the time. The fact that they didn't even try to launch a case is pretty telling.

  8. I'm reminded of that rant where Axl says it's no longer about the money, chicks, drugs and being the bad ass rock n roll man because, in his own words, "I can't fake it no more." So to say all the perks of touring in some way outweighed the negative bull crap he was going through is off the mark in my opinion.

But on the other hand he strong arms his band into signing over the name, and tries to take full control of the band and reduce his friends to employees. So I think it had a little to do with money....

But that's impossible. Forcing someone into a contract, no matter how lightly you push them, is illegal. If Axl had in any way forced the old band into that contract then he would have been sued straight into poverty. Axl showed them the contract, they accepted.

  10. His piano parts like Prostitute and This I Love really don't get the credit they deserve. Even his cover of Elton John from this tour is pretty special, it's probably my most listened to track from the Tokyo bootleg. Some paino reinterpretations of the songs on Chinese Democracy would make me an incredibly happy fan.
