Isn't there a video interview where he talks about being diagnosed as a manic depressant and that they just threw pills at him. He talked about it with a fair bit of anger.

It's none of our business really but it would be nice to know if he is doing okay mentally. Judging by the tour videos he certainly seems to be.

That is a very narrow minded view on what it takes to get by when you do have a problem with mental issues.

Each person is different for me it takes both the meds and the shrink twice a month just to keep me half ass level headed and alive.

I do see in Axl alot of things and you could my an arguement on his metal state but you have to know some people day in and day out to even know if there is a problem or not. And none of us know him that way so my opionion is just like everyone esles, is pure speculation.

I agree it is all down to the person in question. I have just always held therapy in more regard than medication because it helps you to work on the problem. But of course if said person doesn't get along with therapy or pills then the whole argument gets thrown out the window.

It's just a matter of doing what's best for you.

Maybe less threads about Axl's moustache, more about the music?

When new music comes out, then perhaps a focus on the music. Supporting and half-touring the same album for the last 10 years is going to result in threads about his mustache, hairplugs, etc, etc.

Axl doesn't need hairplugs because he already got them - botched initially then fixed just before RIR '01. And regarding Slash's thinning hair - I am not denying or confirming he supplements his own hair, but at least it looks natural and didn't/doesn't look like the roadkill that was stapled to the front of Axl's head. Revisit the '98 mugshot and the incredibly thick braids he sported from '02 to '06. It was compounded by the botox and chemical peel which ultimately turned Axl into an Alien until he stopped his treatments, probably around '05 or so since he resumed some normality for the '06 "tour". Its fine for someone to want their hair back, but it was done so terribly wrong for Axl in the late 90's. Combine that with people here actually thinking he's had nothing done, and it's laughable.

I don't think it would make a huge difference in people accepting them as Guns but as Conor said, there would be a lot more respect going their way for taking the name and advancing it on a continuous basis which, for whatever reason, is something that did not happen.

It's a shame but those are the cards that were dealt.

It seemed that Axl can't stand that new and old GNR fans still love Slash.. I wonder why not, is Slash!! is not Gilby, Finck o the guy with that ridiculous mask, is SLASH for christ's sake!!!

I don't think he has a problem with people liking Slash because he knows it is a personal and not universal grudge that the two have. What I think he does mind is when people take their liking of Slash and use it as a way to attack or harm the new band whether they have a reason for it or not.

It also probably annoys him how people are so easily brought into the idea of Slash being this easy going, laid back, no grudge mentality sort of guy because it's safe to assume he doesn't see him that way.

I hope one day he will reveal some more info on how he feels about Slash just for the sake of absolute clarity because at the moment there is still a certain amount of speculation.

Nope. Axl said he thought he was just talking to the fan to the Korn launch party but it turned out to be a reporter for Rolling Stone and that he actualy said "loved" as in past tense.

People blur the line with these alleged personal insults by Slash in regards to Axl. What they actualy mean, in my view, is when Slash pins the break up purely on Axl because it paints a negative picture of Axl which people and obviously the man himself don't agree with. Slash wont come out and say "Axl's a dick" because he has an image and reputation to maintain and he knows he might damage it with such a remark, even if he believes it. Although he has called Axl crazy in the past.

I enjoyed it. It's cool to get these small insights into what he likes about the live show and how he views the Guns music.

No one is stupid enough to call a simple quote an interview.

Lets play the website editor game. What's a more appealing title for this article, 'Axl Rose gives first interview in 14 years' or 'Axl Rose says few words to random reporter.' They are sexing it up to get hits on the website, the fact that they say it is his first in 14 years is proof of that considering it is a complete lie.

I just thought, considering how unpredictable this band is and if there isn't an American leg, this could well be the last ever show by Guns N' Roses. Axl's pushing 50, he can't keep going forever.

Axl said the guy he threw out had been hurling shit at him and the band from the start. I assume there was some sort of provocative message on his shirt.

If your sole purpose in seeing a band is to abuse them then you don't deserve to be at the show, it's that simple.

At the goodbye of the o2 gig he seemed really surprised and happy so see so many still there at end. It really seemed to touch him.

I think it splits into two different groups as seen in these two examples:

He either spends so long on an album because he wants it to be the best it can be because the fans deserve the highest quality or because he works purely for his own means with a middle finger up to everyone else.

He goes on late because he wants to give the best show he possibly can because that's what the fans deserve or he goes on late because he only goes on when he feels like it because he only cares about his own wellbeing.
