  1. The hype is up as we all know and GN´R and Chinese Democracy referenses are popping up everywhere. The latest that I´ve found was about the long-awaited Refused DVD that has been ín the making for MANY years and the releasedate has been pushed forward many times so there sure is a parallell to Chinese Democracy here, hehe.

    Well here´s the article:

By the way, Refused is the band that released the record "The Shape Of Punk To Come" that Duff mentioned ALOT in the interviews he made during the release of the Velvet Revolver debut album. And since I grew up within the same music scene as Refused and seen them play over 27 times I can assure you Duff is right when it comes to this band! :)

OK, this thread is supposed to be about references related to GN´R, and I guess that will have to do since we ain´t getting any offical news anywhere! :P

  2. Not similar at all, especially not "shockingly similar".

NWA roughed up rap a lot more than GNR did to rock. NWA came out with revolutionary new lyrics [from Ict-T and BDP, etc.] that scandalized the whole entertainment industry.

GNR saved rock from the likes of Poison and Yngwie [sp?] but that is nothing new in the history of rock, punk saved us from the New York Dolls and disco in the late 70's, and Nirvana saved us from Warrant and more mainstream, big $$ and big hair bands.

I love GNR - but they did not shake up rock the way NWA shook up rap.

    Word to your mother! :rofl-lol:

  3. As long as Axl isn´t holding the mic for the rap parts I guess I have no problem with a GN´R song that would include it. But I hope he chooses the rap artist carefully. Maybe do like NIN and invite Saul Williams who has both a good voice and great talent.

Why cant Axl hod the mic for rap parts? The reason of what you wrote Axl should do. Sing with NIN.

Cause I don´t see Axl as being a good rapper, sure it could be great if he did it live (like Cornell is doing on the RATM songs) but a studio version of Axl rapping? I don´t think it would be any good, but hey what do I know, maybe he is the new Eminem? :P

  4. If Guns N' Roses toured with NIN it would be huge. I'm not a huge fan of NIN but they have some rockin' songs. I would go to see it regardless.

Have you seen NIN live? I don´t think Axl would dare to tour with them just yet cause they could actually perform a better show than GN´R, that is if Axl and Co don´t have an ace hidden away for this tour. But if you compare the NIN of today with the GN´R of the 2002 tour I´d say NIN would kick some major Axl ass musically and visually. The only thing Axl would have on them is that he is fucking AXL ROSE but that only takes you so far. <_<

Still I agree, it would be a great show but I don´t see it happening. First off I don´t think NIN concider themselves as an opening act and I don´t see GN´R doing a tour where they can´t concider themselves as the main band. Still I hope I don´t have to see Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet For My Valentine as opening acts in Sweden cause those bands are... ...no words for it.

Sorry dude, you are dead wrong. NIN are OK, but not even in the same league. They may put on a good show, but you are dealing with Axl and the lyrics, voice and melody that go along with that. Not even comparable.

Well your opinion of me being wrong is as valid as mine of me being right. :o

I saw NIN live back in 2000 and was gonna see GN´R in 2002 but it got cancelled. But as everyone else on this forum I´ve seen the live footage of the shows they did and also heard the bootlegs and sure it can be unfare to compare a live act that your actually seeing live on the spot with live shows on a DVD or something else like that but I gotta say that Axl didn´t impress me that much. What I was happy about was that Axl was out there again since I am a huge GN´R fan (much more than a NIN fan which you´ll see if you check out my record collection adress in the profile) and that makes the shows great (accept for the Boston one which is terrible). But even though Axl is Axl I still think Trent and his NIN are a way too strong band to have as an opening act. Cause how much we want GN´R to once again rule the world we just don´t know what to expect and to think that we as GN´R fans are objective on judging this matter is just a little laaaame. :xmassrudolph:

I might add that I saw GN´R live in 1991 and in 1993 and back then it was no question about who was gonna kick who´s ass cause GN´R would kill anyone in their way!

  6. Today on a swedish radio channel they discussed Chinese Democracy and Axl. Nothing new but I guess it could be cool for the other swedish members to hear it.

If it´s OK with the admins I can post a link to some place where I can upload the discussion?

Please don´t PM me about the show cause I don´t want to have to reply to so many people, I´ll post it here if the admins OK it.

The discussion was about if Chinese Democracy really will be released and some swedish hardrock specialist (whatever that is) was on the show talking about it. He was really positive and talked about how big Guns N´Roses still are even though many people don´t belive it. Pretty cool. :P

  7. I know it doesn't make a difference which pic of axl it is,

but for those who are interested i think NIN used this one:

    :P

I'm waiting for next fake from NIN, this is getting interesting :xmasssanta:

Dude! You'll give Grissam and co a real run for their money! Top work Coma! :)

    Grimo.

haha CSI better watch OUT!!!! :rofl-lol:

What is NIN up to? I love it!
