  1. Both shows were great. I was way the hell up on Saturday night and a few rows from the stage on Sunday. The sound was solid in both places. Axl sounded better on Sunday for sure. Slash's This I Love solo was better as well.

I know I'm in the minority, but I hate Coma. It's cool to place something that hasn't been played in a long time, but it's 10 minutes long and he just doesn't sound good on it. I'd rather have two other songs.

  2. Can anyone name a singer that actually sings better with age?

So many bands tune down there guitars to accomadate the singer as they get older.

I think Grohl's singing ability has definitely improved over 20 years. That could come with his confidence, though. Axl was always confident. Grohl wasn't.

Also I don't think Springsteen has changed so drastically. I like it better now I think. It sounds even more every-man.

  3. I bet metallica is up there. Of course Enter Sandman but I know I've heard the riffage from For Whom The Bell Tolls too.

That was another one. I've heard Seek and Destroy as well, but couldn't really think of anything else.

I guess I was just questioning locally. Guns seems to be used across the board, though. Every stadium, every game. It's quite interesting to me.

  4. Is there an artist or band that has more songs played in sports stadiums regularly than Guns N' Roses? I was arguing with a friend about it.

    Regularly played:

    Jungle

    SCOM

    Paradise City

You can pretty much guarantee these at any sporting event.

    Heard more than once:

    Brownstone (intro mostly)

    Out Ta Get Me

    Hair of the Dog

    Nightrain

At least one of these is played at every game I attend. Some of these may be local in terms of their play, but some aren't. I heard Out Ta Get Me at least twice in the NHL playoffs so far. Brownstone intro was played in the current NBA game, game 3, on ABC. I have no doubt heard Hair of the Dog and It's So Easy in Cleveland sports games. I'm pretty sure Indians primarily.

My buddy and I couldn't think of anyone even close to having at LEAST seven "pump up" songs in sports. We figured Ozzy is close if you count Black Sabbath, too. And they occasionally play stuff like Kanye or Jay Z, but mostly in the "here's the new hit song, we're hip because we play it" kind if way. So we guessed probably three or four in those cases.

Pointless thread? Absolutely. But we're drawing blanks.

  5. I don't really give a shit what the info is regarding the end of Vegas or Ron. Nobody else should either.

The constant begging and shit isn't gettin anywhere. It only drives up the value of the so-called info. Same goes for the bootlegs that people are holding. If nobody gave a shit, nobody would give a shit. It's that simple.

If Ron leaves, good for him. Thank him for touring. Thank him for helping on the album. Thank him for his pleasant fan interactions. It's the best we can do. He put his solo career on hold for essentially 8 years to go nowhere but sideways. I mean, it's gotta be a pain in the dick to be a composer and tour constantly for 8 years playing songs you had no part in writing.
