No, it does not suggest that at all. What it suggests is all the people around the world who love the real band still love the real band and seeing "Guns n Roses are coming to town!" makes them excited to hear their favourite songs live. REGARDLESS OF, not BECAUSE OF, the "new lineup". I use the term "new lineup" loosely as I doubt the entire "band" including Axl have ever all been in the studio even once. This circus does not operate as a band, just because you show up at a stage with a few other guys and play a series of songs that you learned independently of each other, years apart from one another, does not make you a "band". It makes you what James Hetfield called the real band, "A guy and some other guys". If people thought that then can you imagine what those people must think now?
If you read this part of my post, you will see where I'm coming from.
Axl is doing fine on his own.Through all of the shit, and through everyone leaving, Axl has been there headlining major shows and selling out arenas world wide.
You can't tell me that people are still too stupid to realize that Axl is the only original. Everyone and their grandmother knows this by now.
I'm sorry, but I'm a realist. I know that any past version of this band is not going to reunite and I couldn't give two shits less about it. If Guns n' Roses are playing anywhere near me, I will gladly fork over my money to go see Axl. Especially when the people playing the music are doing a better job of it then the sloppy wasted original band could ever hope to.

The best lineup is the Appetite lineup. It is not even close. And no, I am not the minority, I am the majority. GNR is WTTJ. GNR is Paradise City. GNR is Brownstone. GNR is Civil War and Coma. And Axl didn't create those songs by himself. Last man standing my ass. The original GNR is Hall of Fame Material. New GNR is $1.99 bargain bin band.
Well, since the Appetite line up didn't record either Civil War or Coma, I think you need to straiten out your priorities.
In fact, the Appetite lineup never even played Coma live.
The fact that that "1.99 bargain bin band" is still selling out arenas world wide would suggest that Axl is doing fine on his own.

its funny how so many ppl think they are 'entitled' to anything..from a total stranger.....seriously....these boards are just full of this crap...when are ppl going to grow up and quit whining like a bunch of babies?
'i dont get this...blah blah blah'
'i dont get that...blah blah blah'
seriously...you guys are all a bunch of whiny babies...GROW THE FUCK UP.
its scarey to say that 'you' type of ppl are becoming more common rather than less common in this day and age...it just says that GnR fans are little babies when you read crap threads like this....
You don't sound too happy.....guy.

Ummm, excuse me? You got beef with me?
Hahahaha, nope man. We're good.

That's it, I am personally going on a mission to hold Axl, at gunpoint, in the studio until we have 7 new albums.
Who wants to block Beta for me? She scares me.
just shoot her, pussy
What good would that do? The psycho bitch would just come back for me in one of her future lives.
Hush hush now. You don't know this woman. Get back to me when you've met her. KthxBye.
I didn't know Hitler either, but I know that he wasn't quite right in the head.
And what the hell kind of unintelligible drivel is "KthxBye"??? Why the hell would I care if you're going somewhere?

This is my absolute favorite song by anyone, ever. Definitely underrated as far as mainstream attention goes.
-
Well, since it's Axl and a piano, they are his songs. If you were in a band and your guitar player wrote some shit on his own time that you had no input on, or even played anything for, would you call them your songs?

When did Todd Youth join Guns n' Roses?
Other than that, nice find man.

It's nice to hear someone that was there comment on the situation.
I wish Dizzy would do more interviews.

Nah, I wouldn't care. Of course, it would be fun to see them with that line-up, but I like this one. A lot! (I wouldn't mind seeing Josh Freese drumming with this line-up, though. But that's just because he's so great and awesome.) The chemistry of the 2001 line-up always seemed a little off. To me anyways, but then again I never saw them live.
Guess, I just love Fortus and Ashba too much
I had the privilege of seeing them live in 2001, and then again at Sturgis last year, and I have no preference for a reunion.
I have grown quite fond of Thal, and I would hate to see him leave the band.

what about the solo, Bucket's solo is awesome.
It's just not for me man, I can't get in to it.
I've tried, but it just isn't happening for me.
-
For me it's the best song on the record for a few different reasons.
What are your reasons? I'm not trying to belittle you, I just would like to listen to the song with those reasons in mind to see if I might like it better.
It's got a great chorus, melody, flow, vocal and guitar solo.
I like the lyrics and the vocals, but I cant bring myself to liking any of the music. Thank you for replying though.

Has anything that DJ has said come true yet???
I admire his optimism, but I won't believe a word until Axl confirms it himself.
I know that Axl has said that there is more music, but if nothing new is played at Rio, I'm giving up on hearing anything new for a long time.

At least has a good solo. But what if everyone here opening a thread like this ,dont make sense to me, ex."Why do people like Scrapped?","Why do people like Prostitute?","Why do people like The blues".nah. :sleeper:
Probably because we have absolutely nothing else to talk about with the band hibernating again.
why do people like the album period.
Because it is leagues better than anything else out in mainstream music today.
I have been a Guns-ONLY fan for 18 years, but I think 21st Cenctury Breakdown by Greenday and the latest Foo Fighters album are better than Chinese Democracy. For all you morons out there who think advanced, technical geek-music is COOL because "Slash can't play it", listen to Foo Fighters. They understand that they can't abandon the good melody in order to show off. Still, it's quite complicated.
That's your opinion and I respect that.
I personally couldn't care less what Slash can or can not play, I love Axl's vocals.
Hell, it could be Stevie Wonder on piano and Little Richard subbing for Tracey and Roberta, as long as Axl's on vocals, I will always accept it as Guns n' Roses.

I'll agree with you man, it is deffinetly one of the worst songs GN'R have released. I used to think the same of Shackler's, but as I grew older, I realised how fucking amazing it is.
Yeah, that Slither version is really good though. I hadn't heard it before because I didn't like the song or Velvet Revolver, but it's a lot better than either song on it's own.
-
Seriously, I think this is the worst song that G'n'R ever released. I love the whole album, except for this turd.
I would much rather listen to Just Another Sunday and My World back to back, on repeat, than to suffer through that horrible porn music reject again.
I just don't get why it's so highly acclaimed. Can someone please explain what I'm missing? Besides a brain, I already knew that.
Because other people like it, it's worth making a thread about how you don't like it? What are you? 9? People like what they like. It's just a matter of taste.
Yes, I am 9. When you find something recent to talk about, besides another stupid DJ farted article, come back and talk.
Throughout the whole thread, people have discussed their opinions. It's made some people laugh and some people a little angry. But, it's only made one person whine, and that was you.
In case you haven't noticed, there isn't much to talk about recently. I think that this thread did a pretty good job of giving people a place to express their opinions. I've expressed mine, but nowhere did I criticize anybody for disagreeing with it.
I'm sorry that somehow you managed to get all butthurt about it, but thank you for such a mature response. It gives us 9 year olds something to look forward too when we grow up.

My personal feeling is ITW is an awesome song. One of the stronger songs on CD. BUT, this version is completely amazing. I'm addicted to it:
I'm not pro-re unionist, because I think that that dead horse has had the shit stomped out of it. But that makes it a good song.
Better than good.
Hell, better than Better.

Big If The World stan here. Everytime I listen I'm creating my own music video to it, end of the word type video with tsunamis coming to shore and people running for their lives.
I love Axl's vocals, guitars are sick, drum loop is infectious, also the lyrics are pretty impressive.
I can see why some don't like it but it's an interesting new style I hope Axl brings to CD2, Same with Shackler's
I wish I got that mental image, it's a hell of a lot better than a fat guy and a cow.

It's a cool change-up. Do like the use of the air-raid siren effect. Not sure about the la de da part, as it reminds me of that M. Faithful part from Metallica's Memory Remains, but do like how that part canvasses across the speakers. Also, is there one song that everyone can agree is awesome from the album. Just seems like so much variation in opinion.
I think the one song we all agree on is T.W.A.T.. I haven't heard anyone complain about that song.
I love it how people have different favourite ones rock2 tells a lot about the record...something for everyone!
I agree with this. And it's amazing that with how different each song is from each other, I only really dislike one song.

One of the one's I always skip.. Even live, I have to say it bores me.. Its just so dull.. Progression is soooo slow, and the way it is sung, just does'nt get me going.. I think it has alot more potential, but the way it is built seems... Contradictory, is the best word I can describe it with.. A simple song, overcomplicated by multiple guitars, un-organic in the sense of vocals and percussion on it.. It could have been so much more, and it really feels semi-finished or not thought through.. !
Funny about the song likings: My fav's have to be:
Catcher In the Rye
Sorry
There Was A Time
Scraped
Prostitute
Same for you guys / Vice versa for the ones that like If The World ?
Almost the same, I would probably put Shackler's in there above Prostitute though.
:chef: Street of dreams beat both ?
Live it does, I'm not too sure about the recorded version though.
Why are the fans being kept in the dark?

I've always wondered what kind of loser comes and rants about a band that they don't like, in that bands forums.
If you're sitting there crying in your pillow about a reunion that isn't going to happen, grow up, get over it, and move on. Everyone else already has.
You are entitled to your opinion, as is everyone, but to waste the time it took you to type that out when you have absolutely no shot of effecting anything is just plain pathetic.
