I have no recollection of that. Either I was joking before too or you've got me mixed up with someone else, because I live in a tiny village that I am sure I've never mentioned on here before. I have mentioned the country I live in, though.

I'm two year older than you.

I have not got you mixed up with another person my man.

Of course I was joking. I thought the Brooks quote was a dead giveaway. I sometimes feel like I’m 68, though…

But I thought it was funny that this grouse character claimed I’m in my 30s and have 40 coming up because there is no way of knowing. And especially because what he/she claimed is not even true.

Haha I´m messing with you man, we have had interactions with each other before through this forum, you might not remember it but we did that's how I knew you were trolling. Hell we even share the same hometown.

I still feel young, it's weird physically you may change but mentally you still feel the same.

I still have fun and laugh a lot!

It's just the way it works I guess, like others have stated. I now firmly believe that your mental age will always be frozen at like an early 20 something. You had your formative years and tears that go along with all that stuff and you just keep on doing you untill all of a sudden you develop a squeaky pinky and you're like what the fuck is up with that and your body starts disagreeing with some of the stuff you did in the past

  4. I think you are right in that assumption, I was just trying to hold onto my 30´s for one last year haha. I´ll be turning 40 pretty soon.

I'm very curious to learn who is the oldest member here, who is the ultimate rock forum member that is actively smirking right now?  We have got to have someone on here who is 70'ish im sure but who just doesn't actively post right?

Crawl out of the woordwork may your name be known

You have just won yourself a dishwasher my man, that place did have a cartoon of the band members like that. I´m guessing you are in your thirties as well?

I get a bit depressed when I think of how much of my youth I wasted reading this forum and cringe when I think about some of the shit I would post back then.

rock4 But I already left you and you're better off left behind

Man don´t get me started on that stuff Im a right ol´ geezer, I started my online gnr adventure on an obscure scandinavian website called we aint dead yet!

Aaaand now i'm looking at the time and date in my lower right corner of the screen and it says we're about ready to cross over into 2024. It has made me realise that im getting close to 30 years of being active in an online community, do I really still care about the band, well the answer is nowhere near as much as decades ago, However the online community it has spawned is priceless. Guess it's all about the friends you make along the way!

There are also loan sharks in the poorest areas, they'll lend money to anyone at super high interest rates of like 99% or higher. The poorest suffer the most.

I find that quite disheartening, I realise that this is how the world works to a certain extent but come on it doesn´t have to be like this all the time guys. What I'm trying to say here is, be good and nice to your next of kin or even better, to a random stranger. The world would be a better place if we all did that.

aaaand now I'm getting off my high horse haha

You nailed it. I spent last Christmas in Texas with my two brothers and my dad (I live in Alaska) and I am soooooo glad that I did because my dad got very sick with Bulbar-onset ALS and passed away just this past September.

I had even asked for time off this Christmas because I never would have thought that he could not make it another full year. You just don't know sometimes. Life is short and I take it day by day and treasure each day that I have.....

I'm sorry to hear that Marlin, I wish you all the strength that you need or needed to get through that crisis. Hope you are doing well.

The adverts normally start now for what are essentially savings accounts that tie you in to purchasing from a specific catalogue. You pay in each month to fund Christmas, earn 0% interest on that saving, and then get restricted to purchasing from a select set of stores and often pay more than the best deals on the high street or online. It's a massive scam that preys on people who are unable to leave their damn savings alone.

The UK and America are HORRIFIC at teaching people how to manage finances. The fact Dave Ramsey has made so much money from what is the most simple and basic financial advice going simply astounds me.

It's a thing in England too. A lot of families on lower incomes use store cards which usually charge high interest rates to buy their kids presents.

That sounds absolutely horrible, people of lower income are usually quite prone to this kind of trickery and this feels like adding insult to injury.

Thnx for the answers! Much appreciated

Charging the gifts and then paying them off for the rest of next year, sucks.

This has got to be one of the most American things I've ever read, is this a thing in other countries I wonder?

Nothing against you dontdamnme, I wish you all the best !

Family can be annoying but unless you hate them just tell and show them you love them, make amends, let them be as they are, ignore their stupidity and never hold a grudge for too long. Hug them any chance you get, have diner with them, laugh about their stupid jokes and listen to the ever same stories one more time. Those stupid fucking routines, these annoying table and sofa talks...cherish them, cherish the fuck out of that while you can. Life is so fucking short and most people never really know what they got 'til it's gone.

Powerful words my man, my parents are getting to a certain age and i swear if I have to hear that same old story once again I will explode, your post made me realise that I need to take a chill pill because pretty soon I will be that exact same person. Hell Im already boring my kid with my stories haha, I keep on retelling her when her mom and I first met. Dont know why but those were some powerful words mate, cheers thanks for that!

Let's do it tough guy, I'm back in London December, 12th.

We can do it at Paragon Kick Boxing Gym in Shoreditch, PM me your details and I'll get you a guest pass.

Cage or ring? Doesn't matter to me, you're getting whooped either way.

You're not going to start whining and crying when it doesn't go your way are you? You know, like you're doing now?

These two people are deserving of a ban in my opinion, this is inciting violence,

And they are supposedly turning around again and going back to their camps....that's a bit anti climatic to say the least. You march upon moscow get within close range of the city you strike some deal and we're friends again. How does that even work. like what in the actual fuck is going on over there

Now it makes sense again, that’s why you don’t half ass a coup against someone who regularly assassinates political opponents.

  14. He has picked his hill to die on that is for sure, I don't think a policy of appeasement is something the kremlin is known for so escalation and more violence and bloodshed is highly likely.

Gonna be intersting to see what standpoint nato partners are going to take. Officially they are still going to condemn the man for all he has done of course but unofficially there could be some silent support. I mean the enemy of my enemy and all that. However for the time being I think nato will just do a lot of observation and watch with a heightened interest to see how everything will unfold.
