  1. Hmm - good and bad news for me.

If they don't add extra tour dates it's bad news as I don't fancy going to a festival with tree hugging hippies!

    no hippies at reading/leeds

  2. Zane Lowe said GN'R have 3 UK dates so I assume Leeds, Reading and one in Ireland

Geography fail from Zane Lowe there

Hopefully get to Leeds on a freebie, should be a good day that

  3. The main difference though, is Corgan's first records where it's pretty much him, are brilliant. So much so, that it does make you kinda wonder if he was the entire driving force on the first pumpkin records (not saying he is).

Siamese Dream was his baby guitar and bass-wise, I'm sure he'd have drummed too, but Chamberlain's a beast, just listen to 'Geek USA'

  4. Reading/Leeds sticks to NME-friendly bands on the whole, as you have Download and Sonisphere catering for the rock and metal these days

Glastonbury has turned into some Q/Mojo magazine bullshit for middle-class Radio 2 listeners

  5. If they're coming over late May/early June, you can forget about GNR at Reading/Leeds as that's the end of August

Most bands do one end of the festival season, or the other, not the whole thing

I've been told Metallica, AC/DC and Van Halen for Download

Soundgarden and awful indie bands for Reading/Leeds

  6. Madison did not deserve that. And what's with calling people "lesbian" as an insult. What a bigot. But we already knew that eh?

I wonder how many more times you can say the same shit, over and over again. How about you move the hell on and/or post something completely different that maybe, helps you look like less of an idiot.

    here comes the cavalry

  7. I'm hearing it's Download in the UK again, possibly London at Wembley Arena too and Glasgow and that Irish festival who's name escapes me at the moment

When you sign up to do a festival with live nation/clear channel there's an exclusivity contract that any additional gigs have to so many miles away from that festival, so it would rule out the usual suspects like Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham and Sheffield

How come they managed to do all of those cities in 2006 when they played Download?

fuck knows, but it's usually the case for headliners

which is strange really, as download is clearchannel's thing, and they have no goodwill with them whatsoever

anyone got any posters of the 2006 tour to see who promoted it?

anyway, just repeating what i'd heard from various sources in the biz, nothing's been signed off though, so don't hold your breath

sometimes these things are pencilled in just incase

  9. i would not want to see GN'R at a festival show

it's the only place they show up on time!

yeah right. I was at Leeds 2002

    lucky you

I was talking a few days ago with an english guy who was there and told me it was a really bad concert ,,, don´t want to believe him but he told me so ...

It was awesome,I spent the whole day getting my drink on, and saw some great bands like Dillinger Escape Plan and Biffy Clyro (back when they were unknown)

I seem to remember a massive (plastic) bottle fight broke out during The Offspring, that was fun, more fun that watching them for sure

When The Prodigy finished, I drained the snake and went down the front with my buddy and left my girl behind with the rest of the gang as they weren't fussed. I lost all sense of time, but me and my buddy were NOT moving as we'd got right near the barrier, so we pissed in bottles, but the did the honourable thing and tipped them on the grass and not over the crowd. Stealth pissing rules

We got the GUNS AND ROSES chants going too. When they came on we were like a pair of schoolgirls, it was fucking AWESOME. All thought of hired hands went out the window, as the band tore it up. Then there was the infamous rant before NR and we thought it was gonna go off, you could feel the tension in the air, but they let the band play on, and that was that

One of the best shows ever

  10. This is NOT a story that I would have posted as news.

However, yesterday I closed an eight-page thread about this topic because I didn't believe it. I thought it was a bogus rumor and didn't want forum members to continue debating an untrue rumor. We go to great lengths to ensure the news and information that's posted here is accurate and reliable. We don't censor news, but we do shoot down untrue rumors whenever we see them.

However, when I checked into this rumor myself and spoke to the security manager, I discovered the rumor was true. It's not our forum's policy to censor discussion on "true" information. I made a mistake by closing the thread yesterday, and that's why I re-opened the discussion. If I had just re-opened the existing thread, people would have had to read through eight pages of fighting over whether the security policy was true before finding out that it was.

This is the only reason I started a thread about it. :(

Just ask management , I'm sure merck will confirm or deny it straight away, he usually does

    Oh wait, wrong decade now
