I think that is not beyond the realm of possibility.

a cover of Judas Priest's "You've Got Another Thing Comin'"

Kind of odd to report that Slash and Izzy may be returning. Why would the guitarists in the current lineup bother to stick around if it was only a temporary gig?
Too fucking weird, it's as if Axl has two versions of GN'R planned
-
The only thing Edward Van Halen has in common with Axl is that their respective bands haven't had a new record out since the 90's (GN'R's "Illusion" records in '91, VH's "III" in '98).
Not happening.
No.
No way.
-
Seemed accurate to me, there were a few things I hadn't read or heard before.
-
If these shows are cancelled, it is effectively the end of Guns N' Roses. The fans' patience has been tested enough. It's like dangling a piece of raw meat in front of a lion.
-
Wasn't this "rumor" just one of the posters here taking a shot in the dark based on the open date the band has that night??
That was me.
I want it to happen, and though the musical guests are booked well in advance, consider this: Paul Simon has been the musical guest before, but he has also hosted numerous times. Maybe this is a hosting gig only, and he's not the musical guest. We'll see.

I'd have bought a round for Axl and his pals, seeking nothing in return except maybe an advance copy of Chinese Democracy

WAAAAHHHHH! I wasn't able to scalp all the GN'R tickets I wanted. WAAAAHHHHH!
I guess you haven't been reading the threads huh?
If you had, you would know that SmokingArthur had bought extra tix to sell to fellow Gunners at cost so that diehard fans wouldn't have to pay scalpers a fortune. I know this because I've been watching him trying to sell them on the forum in the ticket thread - for the exact cost he paid for them. I know the cost he paid for them (with postage and ticketmaster charges) because he showed me his confirmation emails.
It sounds like scalping to me when there is a FOUR ticket limit and he buys 23. Let the "diehard fans" call Ticketmaster on their own. That's what I will be doing if/when GN'R plays Boston or Manchester NH.
-
Doubt it. Lenny's not in the same league talent-wise.
It would be like Sammy Hagar when he joined Van Halen. Eventually there would be a fallout.
-
I am curious if everyone who bought their tickets have gotten them. I purchased a total of 23. Ever ticket was purchased with UPS express shipping from NYC to NYC. Ticketmaster sent me singles and one pair that I ordered. So basically, all the seats on the FLOOR are in different sections. They obviously did this on purpose. They have not sent me any of my (4) ticket purchases, and the rest of my doubles. I got 7 tickets out of 23 and tomorrow is friday. This is complete bull from Ticketmaster!
The limit was 4. Although I bought like 18 tickets I only got 10 total 4 for 12th, 4 for 14th and 2 for 15th.
My other orders were cancelled. When you check on order history on ticketmaster it will tell you which orders went through and which didn't and I believe I got charged an extra 10 dollars for every order that did not go through. Although my transaction went through when I bought the tickets I think they saw that the same person bought more than 4 for each date so they automatically cancelled my other tickets.
You get 4 per night max.
I think this is gonna happen to alot of people
Not sure if this is your case but you should go look at order history on ticketmaster.
You are correct. I was not charged $1,800 like my purchase confirmations indicate. I only received confirmations of print and shipping on (7) tickets. This means many will not get tickets from me. I have shipped to everyone who has paid except for one that I have refunded via Paypal. I can't even go to the fucking shows with my friends now! I have one ticket for myself!!! Did they still charge me for procesing of all the tickets I did not get too? This is bull! So the tickets cost me more than I charged? Damn....
WAAAAHHHHH! I wasn't able to scalp all the GN'R tickets I wanted. WAAAAHHHHH!

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Sirius actually was the first to play something from the new record. Remember that Dizzy was on recently, and Sirius headquarters is in NYC, where, as we all know, Axl's been hanging out for some time now. I REALLY, REALLY think May 16th will be a big day for GN'R fans.
Two weeks - we'd know about it.
BEST case we'll get a date. I'm hopeful for that, but we'll see.
I didn't mean seeing the full CD on May 16th, but I think a radio single is very possible. I'm also suggesting that Sirius would be allowed to play it before anyone else. It seems trendy for artists to go to satellite radio with new material these days.

With shows before and after May 16th, could we see at least A SINGLE released on this day? It is a Tuesday, after all, and I am a bit curious to see if the day is being used for that particular reason. Your thoughts?
-
Sure, GN'R can be the biggest again, but it's dependent on a number of things. For starters, Chinese Democracy has to be a success, both critically and commercially. Another issue is that there can be NO MORE cancelled shows, and the people won't tolerate Axl's tardiness, either. I would also think there has to be some kind of interaction available between the band and their fans. Having the official website up and running would be a good place to begin. A lot of GN'R's success will also come down to who's in the band. The more originals, the better, but it's important to have a band that isn't constantly rotating its' members.
-
I wish he'd get rid of the cornrows. Really.
He does look healthy though, not the stick thin Axl from the Appetite days.
-
Good post, though probably inaccurate.
-
Not going.
I'll wait until they play Boston or Manchester, NH. Might see Tesla in the meantime (hey, they were pretty good in their day).
HAHA! im going. HAHA TO YOU ALL!LONG LIVE AMERICA!
No need to rub it in. Some of us might actually want to see if Axl doesn't cancel minutes before the show, anyway. Wouldn't that be A BITCH?

For those of you who subscribe to Sirius Satellite Radio, I found out through my weekly Sirius email that Dizzy Reed will be guest hosting "Hostile Takeover", a weekly program on Channel 28, also known as Faction. The program airs at 7:00PM EST this Friday, 4/21, and will be rebroadcast at 1:00AM. No word on whether the show is live or previously recorded, but the email indicates Dizzy will play whatever he wants, so who knows, maybe he'll sneak something in.
-
Yeah, it'll be a surprise if Axl shows up and performs.
-
Leave it to MTV. They play nary a trace of music anymore, but they'll sure as fuck report on it.
-
I fucking HATE Clear Channel for monopolizing FM radio and turning no-talent shit bands like Nickelback into household names due to overexposure. Not to mention they dropped Howard Stern virtually overnight after the Janet Jackson Super Bowl debacle for claiming his show was too indecent for their standards.
I want to see GN'R when they tour the states, but I'd hate to give my $ to those greedy suits.
-
Hard to refute. Slash has said nothing in the press recently, so it's not impossible.
-
It would be nice. But I doubt it. They book these bands months before.
Off topic: Pearl Jam is on tomorrow night, Lindsey Lohan is hosting.
Maybe GN'R was booked some time ago and it's been kept hush-hush?
I think Axl & the band must have visited here
