GNR mention
in 2006
He kinda looks like Mick Mars.He DOES look a lot like Mick, but he also bears a slight resemblance to the late Randy Rhoads, IMO.
-
Axl's looking more like a cross between James Hetfield and Bob Seger these days. He does look quite healthy, though. Anyone know if he still smokes?
-
Hmm, I always thought the "solo" in Paradise City was a wee-bit.....unorganized?
I always liked the first solo in Estranged a lot.
For the record, the solo in The Eagles "Hotel California" would be my number one, though two guys (Joe Walsh and Don Felder) are involved with it.

Anything is possible, I guess, but I've said June for a while now, so I'm sticking to it.

Axl signs same guitar that Slash, Duff, Matt signed.

This is a brand new, white California strat-style guitar signed by Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum- all members of the Legendary Rock Band GUNS N ROSES. The signatures were all obtained in-person after long hours of waiting on separate occasions to acquire them. Axl recently signed the body of this guitar in New York City on March 14th, 2006 following a late night after party. Slash, Duff, and Matt signed the pick guard of the guitar at their hotel in Boston before and after their performances held at Tweeter Center in the months of June and July, 2005. All of the signatures are flawless and were signed with a blue felt tip. This item is Guaranteed Authentic and comes with the proof photos listed along with my COA, which documents the date and place the signatures were obtained. This guitar is a complete original and labor of love, and would make an awesome gift for any true Guns N Roses fan.

Very cool guitar, indeed. Wonder why Axl would sign it, though, with the signatures of the ex-Guns already on it?

I don't think there's going to be a reunion!!
If that happens, it would be a miracle!!
By the way, I'm not surprised of what GNR manager said. I knew Axl wrote most of the lyrics and melodies. I know he's a genius!!
The only way a reunion ever happens is if they start to run out of money. That doesn't seem likely, given that the back catalog of CD's still sell well, especially Appetite. The royalty checks will keep pouring in.

I can't figure out why the fuck Weiland was ever considered for VR anyway. Great rock and roll plus shitty alternative lead vocalist equals mediocrity.

These threads are just attempts to get people rilled up, people you are desperate. Quit making stupid pointless threads. Madison, you should lock this thread up. Whoever made this (too lazy to look) is one desperate fan.
Hey asswipe,
I don't have the time to sit around watching TV all day. So when I see the GN'R Behind The Music on at 5:00 on a Wednesday afternoon and hadn't seen it in two years, I raise questions.
Go fuck yourself.
-
GNR Behind The Music is on at least once a week on VH1.
OK, sorry. I hadn't seen it in a long time.
-
-
I just found it a little interesting that with the recent GN'R buzz that VH1 would air the Behind The Music from two years ago. The program wasn't updated (it still says Chinese Democracy is scheduled for November 2004 release ) but I wonder if it's a prelude to something much bigger. VH1 doesn't air these Behind The Music shows all the time like they used to.

I don't believe a fucking thing Clear Channel says.
They are desperately trying to keep people from jumping to satellite radio, as I have, so they'll make up some bullshit to get people listening.
FCC= Fuck Clear Channel
-
It would make ZERO sense to tour without new material, as Axl hopefully learned from the 2002 fiasco.
I still believe the record will be out by June.
-
Maybe Chinese Democracy will be released on the same day as the VR record, that way GN'R will sell four times as many copies in the first week. I know for certain I won't be buying VR's record, because 1) Scott Weiland is an anorexic douchebag with limited vocal talent, and 2) Contraband wasn't all that good.
-
I'm surprised if Axl and Lars are hanging together.
-
I can definitely feel the Queen vibe, but I don't know about Linkin Park, because I don't listen to them. By the time those leaked songs are polished up in the studio, they might sound considerably different.
-
i really hate rap in general. it doesn not qualify to be considered music.
Yeah, agreed. I do hope Axl isn't trying to compete with Eminem, especially since that piece of white trash seems to have a weird fixation for Axl. Jealousy, or something.
-
Perhaps Axl said something to Lindsay like this:
"you get nothin' for nothin' if that's what you do
turn around bitch I got a use for you
besides you ain't got nothin' better to do
and I'm bored"
-
I was in an F.Y.E store earlier today and asked the manager about the status of Chinese Democracy. He told me they have not heard anything about a release date, though he did hear the rumor about the possibility of a three disc set. He added (in his opinion) that Axl has become an industry joke due to the decade long process and still nothing to show for it, and he believes it will never come out. Anyway, I'm a little deflated now, though I wasn't really expecting it this month. I'd like to think it could be out by June, shortly after the touring begins.
-
He seems to travel alone a lot. Poor guy needs a girlfriend.
-
Sold nearly 3 million copies in US.
The only album to spend more than 100 weeks on the Billboard top 100.
Sold 15,000 copies last week alone.
There's definitely still an audience out there for GNR, just so long as Uncle Axl actually releases the thing. There are NO other bands that could have had such a long time off and still be in such high demand. FACT!

All it proves is that there is an audience of the old guys and the old material. Just because it sells, doesn't mean that anyone will buy CD.
And as for bands still being in such high demand after being gone for so long. The beatles and led zeppelin spring to mind.
Yeah, it's pretty good company when you mention GN'R with the likes of The Beatles and Zeppelin.
-
Aside from the flurry of the leaked songs being played two weeks back, I haven't noticed an increase in the old stuff being played. Old GN'R has always gotten good airplay here in New Hampshire. Once an official new single is released, I expect most of the rock stations here to go Guns-crazy.
-
Not sure I believe Axl would attend the Oscars, though he has collaborated with Elton John before (VMA's, 1992). He did mention in the Rolling Stone interview a couple of months back that his favorite book was being made into a movie with Keanu Reeves, so maybe he's angling to meet Keanu.

Yeah, man, some jerk-offs got on my case about a week ago because I commented that VH1 aired the GN'R Behind The Music and I openly wondered if it was a hint of a lot of forthcoming Guns news.
Those people criticizing you probably don't work or peddle drugs to make a living because they have an awful lot of free time on their hands.
FUCK 'EM ALL
