  1. Hi everyone- Outtagetme here writing from Gate 38 at the San Juan International Airport. That was me who posted the Axl quote from last night. He didn't specifically say either forum, but he obviously directed his comments toward all of us. Both HTGTH and here are the two biggest forums and maintain a message board that frequently has play-by-play updates from the concerts. We also have a large handful of complainers (myself included to an extent, but for selfish reasons. I understand that this is a quality set-list that gives the average fan what they want).

Axl also appeared to be kicking someone out of the show, but then after the song, he said that some guy passed out and that's why they needed to pull him off the floor.

I was surprised in the quality of the venue. It was a nice, new, and relatively large arena that appeared to be mostly full. The crowed out-rocked any audience I've seen from the 3 other shows I've been to this year. There were more people here decked-out in their GN'R t-shirts than anywhere I've been. The T-Shirt stand was about sold out when we went through to buy more shirts at the end of the show. The stage was similar to what we've been seeing only there were no verticle video screens behind the band. They must have left those in Florida for the Jacksonville show on Tuesday night.

The band was staying at my hotel because I saw Beta and someone who I am guessing is her daughter. I spoke to them and told her to tell Axl thank you for touring North America and for putting together the best band I've ever seen live. She was very nice and the girl with her was friendly also. Just before I came to the airport, I saw and met Frank in the lobby and spoke to Ron and his wife out by the Pool. No Axl sightings though. I'm sure he was sleeping or back in Miami getting ready to go out tonight (I thought I went out a lot- Axl's making up for lost time while he lived his life as a hermitt all of those years). I've met Ron three times now and this is the first time I've met Frank. It's amazing how nice all of these guys are and it is cool to me that my favorite band, are not a bunch of punk fuckers younger than me. These guys appear to be just cool guys who seem fairly intelligent and represent the band well.

I'm taking a break for awhile and will head to Chicago next month for the show there. It's been fun. Now more than ever, I'm looking forward to hearing the new album.

  2. I attended this show the other night. From speaking with an Arena information lady outside the place, they sold 7,000 tickets prior to 5:00pm day of show. The Tampa paper's review the next day said that there were over 10,000 people at the concert. This means that 3,000 + interested fans without tickets showed up that night to see what Axl was up to.

So the place probably holds 16,000 people for a hockey game. It looked full enough even with the upper-tier empty. Everyone left happy and ready to tell the world that Axl is back. I didn't think I would be happy unless their tickets were hard to come by and each stop sells out in minutes, but after going the other night, I don't feel this way anymore.

Instead, I find it impressive that Axl, with a new band, no album, no promotion, no nothing, can show up in a small city like Tampa and put 10,000+ fans in the seats. The word will eventually get around that this is the best show out there. I'm looking forward to seeing the band again in Puerto Rico this weekend.

  3. I'm tired of listening to Sebastian kiss Axl's ass in the press like he is dying to fuck him. Having said that, I like how he has a big mouth and talks about the secret shit. I especially like the possibility of there being another song. I used to to think that the album wasn't out because Axl didn't have enough material for an entire album.

  4. I'm pissed because I just cleared my schedule so I could go. Fuck off Axl. You dickhead. I'm tired of the shit. Either put out an album and do a real tour or go away and quit fucking with us! I know you are reading this you cocksucker!!!!

now, that I got that off my chest, I just wish he would get things right. I've been pulling for him for years and am tired of things falling apart or never happening. I can't complain as much as a lot of people because I am 3-0 for being at a concert that he hasn't cancelled nor no-showed at. I hope he uses this extra week to promote the album or something.

  5. This thread is hilarious and I think Kaneda is the best poster on this board- negative or not. He speaks what I view as the truth. Does that make me any less of a fan? No. I am frustrated with the way this band handles things just like all of you. I have been disappointed by this band countless times because I realize its potential to be the best band ever. I believe Guns N' Roses is the greatest band of all time, but I want the general public to believe that too. I get pissed when they make little or no effort to get that level of respect from people outside of our community. I should be more pissed because I feel that he has taken advantage of his real fan base over the years, but I'm not because it is our fault as we continue to follow what he does and buy his concert tickets. I would like to say "let the music speak for itself", but we have no new music!!! Kaneda just expresses the beliefs and frustrations that I think 80% or more of us feel. He not only complains, but he complains and makes his points in a way that is entertaining. You can tell he is a smart guy from the way he writes. I only hope he is immortalized in an AXL rant somewhere on this tour. He deserves such an honor.

  6. I witnessed this on Saturday night when the Mic landed just behind me. The Security guys were already in the crowd looking for it when the thing hit the ground. They had their flashlights out and were scoping out my area before anyone came up with it.

Hi sunglasses landed by me as well, but nobody went after them.

  7. I was thinking about that yesterday when I was at the Hard Rock and saw that "Supernova" has sold out their NYE show there in Vegas. I thought- who in the hell would want to go to that? Then I thought AXL better do one in Vegas, LA or NYC or he won't sell out (that is if he keeps the show in the United States).

Amazing concert Saturday night by the way, even if Axl acted like a bitch during Paradise City.

  8. If they play the VMAs, I think they should play "Better" and then Axl should do a walk-off interview saying "We just played our new Single of the new album that will be out during the first week of November". "We've scheduled some dates in parts of the country so I want to encourage everyone to come out and see this band".

  9. Just as most of us expected, it looks as if the North American Tour ticket sales haven't started out so well. Minutes ago, I checked and there are still floor seats available in San Diego, Sacremento, Fresno, and Bakersfield. I didn't check the Sunday Las Vegas concert, but I am assuming tickets are still available for that 1,500 seat theater too.

This is what I was afraid of- I still feel that he should have played theaters to the smaller cities and Arenas in 4 or 5 big cities (including Philadelphia). I hate how Axl's critics blast him for playing to half-full arenas. I hope they do play MTV on Thursday, and I hope the voice holds up and they play well. Maybe this will help sales or boost interest. There are not enough forum members out there to sell out all the seats in these places. He should have released the album by now if he wanted to play in Sacremento or Fresno.

At least the Vegas show I'm going to is sold out. Anyone else feeling the same way after checking ticketmaster this morning?

  10. The beginning of Paradise City is the only part I can recall keyboards being used. All it is is synthesizers sustaining 'G', 'C', and 'F' chords.

  11. They aren't selling fast becaue Vegas is a fucking rip-off that weekend. Most hotel rooms are expensive and flights aren't cheap either. I paid over $400.00 to fly there from Atlanta. I've been going out to Las Vegas infrequently over the past few years and used to be able to fly there for $200- $250 or so. This trip will cost me at least $1,000.00 before the gambling. Hopefully, I'll win at the tables that weekend and recover the money spent on the show.

  12. He probably was drunk. Axl is my inspiration for knowing how to be when I am in my 40's. 44 years-old, drinking every night until the sun comes up, banging model-types often. Seems like a good life to me.

  13. I'm going to say this now- bad move AXL on Sacremento- Dumbass. He shouldn't have empty arenas on this tour. He should have stuck with the club model that he appearded to be starting with- Warfield, Hard Rock, etc. Most cities have 3000 - 5000 seat theaters that would be great venues for him to come in and sell out 2 or 3 days in a row.

Last time I checked, Vegas wasn't sold out yet.
