I think that the Ozzfest may be the only way that GNR will get any major promoter to back them in the States. At least with Ozzfest, you have many other bands that could step up and fill-in if Axl went crazy and decided to take the night off. I think it could be a huge draw and tickets will be twice as much as last year.

I've seen them several times in Atlanta. They are pretty much Guns N' Roses.

I've also seen a band in Chicago called Nightrain, but I think they broke up like the real band.

IMO, lack of emphasis on lead guitar. A lot of bands now have two guys playing the same chords. I think there is too much emphasis on making the lyrics more meaningful, but this too many times result in stupid lyrics that are difficult to understand. Younger people may think differently, but growing up in the late 80s and 90's, I developed an interest in bands that had great guitar players. Until Green Day, Nirvana, etc. released hit songs, having a guitar player who couldn't really play was a liability. Good guitar didn't completely leave us when the 80s bands became unpopular, many of the bands that were considered to be "alternative" in the early 90s had decent guitarists that probably grew up idolizing the same guys that Slash did.

It can't be that big of an announcement to be on at 2:30 in the afternoon. Off the subject, but I am beginning to hate U2 more and more each time I see that damn Apple I-Pod commercial. It is annoying.

Nelly's alright compared to most artists doing that kind of music. He is talented at what he does. Of course we're supposed to be rock fans here and not be "down" with rap and all, but I think he is okay. I grew up around St. Louis and everyone, I mean just about EVERYONE is into Nelly there. Even the old people are familiar with him because he is a local celeberty. I'm sure all of the people in nursing homes in West Lafayette, Indiana know who Axl is also.
