  1. ...

eh, this is like reuniting with a childhood friend and finding out hes queer...

Haha - true he has changed a bit along with the music. But I think DJ is looking hotter than ever - good to see him healthy.

I cant believe you guys dont like Rove!

  2. Wow hv I was just going to come and write a topic on this. I havent heard the album - though Im listening to the link you gave. I LOVE the song "straight lines" its like one of my favourite songs ever - and well for my bday I got a music voucher and Ive been pondering buying the album. Sounds like its awesome! Mmm but maybe Ill wait till Rove to see them and then make a decision.

Isnt it great that Rove is back? Poor guy had such a rough year. What a trooper.

  3. If you have already stated in a previous thread your disdain for the album release date, enough already, dont you people have lawns to mow or something? We get it, it isnt out yet, jesus, how long can you complain about the same damn thing? Dont answer that actually. I really dont want to know.

Try bitching and whining and crying about something else, this is getting old.

Hypocrite. You continue to cry and complain over the people that cry and complain about cd being released.

  4. *rollseyes*

Billy is only holding onto the SP's because it was what made him money. And the Zwan thing failed along with his solo careeer. The last successful thing he did was Mellon Collie and he just wants to tour around again making $$ off playing old material. SOunds like another person we know.

Give up the ghost Billy - you never going to have another 1979 again sorry.

  5. Iam judging you because of the biased judgements you make all the time on someone you dont even know. I think you deserve in turn to be put in the spotlight - especially because Robin in his whole career has never talked negatively about anyone. YOU bit first ok?

He does his own thing. But just because its not recording on a million mediocre albums or playing at the grammys - your little narrow mind cant seem to handle it - so you just write it off as 'circus shit'. If you had a creative bone in your body you would realise that not all 'art' comes from one type of medium and you would also understand that the stuff Robin has produced over the years - the stage productions, photography etc - are pretty damn good. Go look on Robins website for crisssake. Open your mind and do the world a favor and educate yourself. Or are you one of those people who needs a users manuel for everything in life?

And it makes you look like a bit of a loser when you criticise someone elses actions, for getting out there so people can hear music while your sitting on your fat ass behind a computer. :rofl-lol:

  6. 1. Some people say that Finck and the rest of the band has shown loyalty by sticking with Axl for so long, without an album coming out. BUT, some people are criticizing them for doing the same thing - saying a true artist would have left by now, a true artist wouldn't wait around. So which is it???? Do we reward Finck for his loyality??? Or is it a bad thing that he's been loyal and willing to stick with Axl?

Did Robin stick with Axl by choice, or by default?

Dizzy at least kept himself busy with HnB, Tommy put out a solo album and toured, Fortus was busy making a baby and Brain ran a drum clinic and made an appearance on The Apprentice. Even Axl did Grand Theft Auto. Where was Robin? Sitting at home being loyal? Or maybe, just maybe, there are no other opportunities available to him. You think they're banging on his door asking him to perform Jimi Hendrix classics, lend his talent on a movie soundtrack or collaborate on other artists projects? Isn't that what musicians do...make music? Robin did nothing for 4 years and you equate that to being loyal? Does that mean Tommy, Dizzy aren't loyal? None of these side projects were even a blip on the radar screen. None of them come close to performing under the GnR name in front of 20,000 people at MSG. They can only do that with Axl. If you want to consider that loyalty, then so be it. It sounds more like reality to me.

And the bitter bitch strikes again!

Ok you obviously havent been doing your research - Robin has completed numerous projects in between gnr commitments.

He's written and co-directed 3 shows "My Birthday Party"

He has been touring with Led Zerail - an act that is Aerial Dance blended with Led Zepplin music.

Hes also a professional photographer and artist.

He took part in the development of Burning Man. - www.burningman.com

Why dont you get the fuck off his back. YOu havent even met the guy and you pre judge him. Get a life.

  7. its not really new

What is the point of your sig? Trent was a douche bag for saying that..

Its kinda true though. Robin is getting paid a truckload of money (well obviously more than Trent was paying him) so Trent said 'fuck you' probably because he was pissed that Robin would leave NIN for more money elsewhere.

How the fuck can you presume that that is why he left NIN? HOw would you know and how would Trent know. Stop acting like these people are your close personal friends.

  8. I said Robin performed well and the show was great but that the hat was in bad taste.

It's amazing people actually say sarcastic things like: '...right, and Slash is the only person to ever wear a top hat'.

Robin could come out with a wall of curly black hair one day and these geniuses will say 'Like Slash is the only person to have a mop of curly black hair...'

Well in that case someone better tell Robin to stop using Les Pauls. Slash uses them too and therefore it is in poor taste for Robin to appear on stage with one.

Are you fucken serious? Your now saying that hes trying to be like Slash cause they use the same fucken guitar. Alot of people use Les Pauls, duh.

    Ugh. Get a life.

  9. what would be interesting is if Izzy played on any of the new songs

Well a certain member on here who seems very reliable said Izzy co-wrote some of the songs on Chinese Democracy

I find it strange that the day after gnr4tea posted that Ron will be outed and Izzy will join, Izzy comes on for maybe 3 or 4 songs (I don't know if he did the encores too), and has his own solo. And Ron didn't have a solo, not even Don't Cry.

I guess Ron was gonna be outed in May as well since Izzy made the exact same appearances.

I loved the show...I was more than happy to not sit thru the Don't Cry solo again, once in September was more than long enough. Ron's a fantastic guitar player but that Don't Cry solo just killed the energy for me last time around.

I posted a quick review at HTGTH. In a nutshell: I was in 2nd row, Axl and co. sounded fantastic, they were reasonably on time, and it was great to see Izzy. 9.5/10.

It'd be 10/10, but my only complaint is Robin showing up onstage in a top hat. Totally unnecessary and uncool. He doesn't need the top hat, his playing is good enough to where he doesn't need a sad gimmick like that. I felt it was in really poor taste. Other than that, absolutely no complaints. Solid show...I'll be at Wednesday's show...they gotta have some more surprises up their sleeve for that one!

Nah. Robin wasnt trying to channel Slash. So theres no poor taste here cause it is just not his style to copy people.

  10. Axl should never have to work a job. He sang AFD. He's touched millions of people's lives. Anyone who does that - in music, film, novels, what the fuck ever - has earned the right to never work again. People who have the power to move the public in such a deep way should be spending all their time creating more materiel.

true but what he's saying is that axl complains about stupid stuff and that if he wasn't famous and had a normal job he'd have reason to bitch. its like when people bitch about a certain food being awful, but there are people with no food at all

He could eat five lambs a day and take bubble baths with Tom Cruise. If he was releasing good music, I wouldn't give a fuck what he said or did.

    :rofl-lol::rofl-lol:

  11. Im getting annoyed that everyone (including Axl himself) thinks of Axl as the Master of Musical Genuis or some shit. We should just fall all over ourselves to do what he demands when hes having an inspirational moment. When that rare moment arrives anything that comes out of him is pure gold and we must gather around with our recording devices, our cameras and our paint brushes before it disappears. Yeah and doves fly out of his asshole as well. Ok that was a joke.

But truly - ok he wrote November Rain and he was part of making one of the best rock records. But a lot of his stuff in my opinion is over indulged and bloated. Thats why I really really hope CD proves me wrong. Because I think hes a fucken awesome singer and performer but hes never impressed me with his songwriting abilities. YET.

I still think Izzy and Slash created the brilliance of AFD. So flame me.

  12. It´s incredible what you can say of a man you know nothing about... .You don´t know Axl, you don´t work with him, ...

Neither do you, but that doesn't stop you from voicing your opinion.

Yes, but there´s a difference, I don´t act as a know-it-all like some people here do.I don´t act as if I knew the man or as if I knew what´s going on or as if what I say is fact or true.

Yeah but you wish you knew him. Right. I think that little saying in your signature is meant for him. Your hoping he would read it one day.:wub:

Stuck in either Chicago or Indiana due to the storm is my bet. But who knows, I would imagine they could have got in a car and driven in. We all know that a storm was headed for the Midwest, so they should have made their contingency travel plans yesterday. This is Axl, and this is GNR though. Probably was back home in Indiana chilling with his old buddies, and forgot what time it was.

And there you are talking out of your ass. That shows that you don't know nothing about nothing and of course don't know Axl. We did not forget the time, did not even took a chance of waiting to fly. Left Chicago around noon. What would normally take about 5 to 6 hours, it took us 10 1/2 hours. Please know that I am not explainning myself to you but trying to let people know the truth. And, if you were trying to be funny, bad joke.

I appreciate the response, but I was not being serious at all. Moreover, you confirm what many are well aware of and what my post said, that a major snowstorm hit the Midwest, and travel was delayed from Chicago. Why go after me for that, isn't that a little touchy? Trust me, I was in the storm, I know that a typical 5 hour trip can turn into 10 in that kind of weather--that's why I posted what I did. I posted nothing that was untrue, trying to perpetuate a rumor, or insulted anyone. Why that post, why go after that?

I know there will be hundreds of synchopants here to now bash me to death's end, and for what? Half-drunkenly postulating that someone who was an hour and a half from their original hometown maybe went home to recover from illness, and then was caught in an awful snowstorm? It's too bad, in my opinion, that you felt the need to take this on. I think it would have been better left to disapear into cyberspace. The show went

on, and it sounds like without a hitch. So hope all is well, and glad everyone made the trip to and from safely. Oh, and I am not into spreading lies, but am into spreading the "good" word about this GNR. If you notice, I am a big-time supporter, that has spent over $5000 dollars to and from gigs across N. America since 2001. The Replacements got me into rock music, and GNR sealed my love for it---so this combination of players, to me is heaven. I let everyone I know, who are music aficianados like myself, how talented and powerful this band is. I am very disapointed, that whatever GNR is, feels so insecure that they might be threatened by the messageboards. It's just weird. Really sorry to have caused an issue, but was not trying to stir the pot. To be quite honest, I was getting ready to get in the car and head to tonights show, daring the bad roads (6 hour drive--four friends, none have tickets yet, were buying floor). I've waited the the whole tour for these shows, saving my money. It was going to be a helluva a party--but after this, I might have to reconsider. Weirded out by the pure vanity and lock down going on here.

Please, do us all a favor and stay home. Bad jokes, innuendo, double meanings and cheeky sarcasm only leads to online confusion which in turn becomes bastardized into fact. You say you're concerned about the psychophants? You have no legs to stand on or for that matter fingers to type with. Try being on this side of the fence. Oh yeah, you would have to be a responsible professional and not someone spends way too much time being negative on the internet. The band will be absolutely fine without your money and support, especially since what you call support is what we call being a pest so maybe we're all better off without each other.

OMG Axl just threw the mic stand at some kid in the crowd.

Who are you? Where do you come from? You are a LIAR. You know that he did not do that and still posted this shit. You should not be in this site. We had a great show and you are trying to add something negative to it; not cool at all. I know where i would like to put the mic stand. Go look for something positive to do.

    WHOAMIGOD I made that video

I believe that someone posted (on youtube) about how he's using effects on his voice. That makes sense, but when you think about it, why didnt he use the effects during the Rio clip? Plus, I'm sure the echo is because it's an outdoor concert.

Oh, and that clip is kinda shitty...I made it in like 5 minutes before I had to go to my final drivers ed

    Hello!

Sorry! No effects on his voice.

And this one is bad. I mean the guy was kidding for crissake.

I just hope he didn't scream

    'YOU'RE GONNA DIIIIIIE'

    because that would be awkward

And why would you think that? Is that because you did? It is amazing the way you guys think. It is amazing how sick your mind is. And, if that suppose to be funny; it was far from been funny.

But I must say, I think you were pretty lucky that a women and her sick daugther was there, or else Axl wouldn't bother

Hello, to start, Axl did not know that the woman and her daughter were there and had not spoken with Robin, he went there on his own.

It is this type of pessimism or when posters are so sure, convinced even and go out of their way to post and convince others of their cynical views that don't have any reality or personal experience with Axl to base their comments on that if you actually knew him you would realize that they (like with this comment) and in most cases in general do not apply to him.

Guns N' Roses / Guns N' Roses / Re: Tonight's show in Portland, ME is cancelled [press release] on: November 07, 2006, 01:38:40 PM

so what you are saying is that now you want axl to take the blame for shit he had nothing to do with?

Guns N' Roses / Guns N' Roses / Re: Tonight's show in Portland, ME is cancelled [press release] on: November 07, 2006, 01:20:00 PM

there is no winning with you guys. wow...you cant just drop it. the show didnt happen, not bands decision, not axls. if axl would of performed last night and that were no pyro, no drinking and people getting fined for smoking or band members getting arrested and other shows getting cancelled over that, you guys would of complained about that too. its always something to bitch about. i understand the frustation, but fuck...stop it already. lets look foward to the next show .

anyway...im done. most of you are just freaking complainers anyway and there is nothing that can be said that will make you stop. for those of you who are coming to worcester, see you there.

Quote from: illusionone on November 06, 2006, 10:35:45 PM

This is kind of tongue and cheek. . . .

If by chance the rumor of the show being cancelled was because of poor ticket sales, do you think the band owes it to the fans that are traveling from Portland ME to go on closer to the time on the ticket 10pm. I feel bad for the fans that live in the portland area that will travel to worcester and have to start driving home at 2am for a 2 hour drive.

Now before people jump down my throat for posting the above - read my previous posts, I have always supported this band and I never bitch about them going on late. I just feel in this case - if the above mentioned rumor is true, and thats why they canceled the show, I feel the band should do the right thing.

BTW - I have no problem with canceling a show becasue of lack of sales - business is business.

    Anyway - my 2 cents.

Why is it so hard to believe that the show was not cancelled because of tickets sales? The fire marshals and the building made it impossible for GNR to play. Everytime we agreed with something they found something else and that went on for almost 3 hours. Our crew were been threantened every 10 minutes that if they would light one cigarrete they would get a 1000 fine. If any of the fans coming to the show and would be cought smoking they would get a 1k fine. If anyone would look intoxicated they would be arrested. If anyband member would look intoxicated they would be arrested; if they felt that the pyro would cause any danger, they would stop the show and the list goes on. This incident has nothing to do with nybody in axls camp. promotores, our team and management came to the conclusion that cancelling was the right thing to do. Axl and band were not part of their decision at all. so please stop jumping to conclusions. is it better for the tour to continue or hv them arrested and maybe a cancelled tour? is was one show and lets blame the right people. stop jumping axls throat over this. he was going to do the show and got a call from management saying that the show was cancelled.

I thought you all might get a kick out of this.

I was at a club last night here in L.A. called Les Deux. My friend that I was w/ went outside to get some people past the bouncer...as he was doing so Axl walked up to the door with 2 girls ("young and not that cute"). The bouncer wouldn't let him in at first cause he didn't know who he was. He claimed that it was at capacity or some shit. Anyways, my friend turned to the bouncer and was like, "Dude, this is Axl Rose from GNR...you gotta let him in...go in and kick 3 people out". Anyways, the boucner then lifted the rope and let Axl and the 2 girls in. Axl just walked past my friend and didn't even say thank you.

This is Beta and you are a liar. You have nothing to do but try to get some atention using Axl's name. I was not there but it was Vanessa and another friend and whatever crap you just wrote is a lie. Go get a life.

I heard this same story as well from axlrosegnr who also went for the mic after this show and that the security guard was a real jerk.

We need to find someone who actually caught one at another show to see if this is common practice. I am hoping just that security guard was an ahole or something!!!

Hello, Beta here. No mic has never been returned to Axl. If security in fact took from the fan; he did on his own. We NEVER received any mic or anything that Axl had chosen to throw in the crowed. I dont know who named this topic but, my opinion is that it is pretty fucked up. I am sure that security has the mic.

Do me a favor; DON'T BUY THE RECORD. People like you should not even been able to post. Yes, it has to be right. What is wrong with that? Just because you probably you don't care having things right it does not mean that everyone should do the same. He is not making a record for people like you. Don't spend your money on it.

If Izzy can accept the new guys as Guns N Roses surely a few disgruntled fans and ignorant members of the press can?

    Source ?

Imo, Izzy is doing those shows to help his friend Axl, not because he considers this as "Guns N'Roses". In 2001, Izzy said that Axl's band wasn't Guns N'Roses. Did he change his mind ? Not confirmed yet.

By the way, nobody knows what kind of music we would be hearing if Guns N'Roses had stayed together.

    Probably better than Better.

That just proves that you don't know shit about anything. Do you REALLY think that Axl needs Izzy's help for anything? Izzy is the one who called asking if he could play couple shows. Better is a great song. Izzy himself said that he was so proud of the new band and that they are amazing and, by the way, he loves Better. I honestly think that you can care less for GNR; all you care about is to bring the negativity. If you don't know what you are talking about it, because you do not, why are you writing shit? why are you posting statements that are not true? Do you know Izzy? Did you guys talk? I don't think so. If that is your opinion, post as your opinion, not like it is fact.

The European Tour is over. Bye-bye Axl !

Come back with Guns N'Roses (Slash, Duff, Izzy and Steven) next time.

You are very rude. If you dont like the new band, why are you in this site? The new GNR is what it is, just accept it.

I agree with Maddie - she is allowing her emotions to come through and not controlling herself.

Though I dont blame her really. The one we should be mad at is Jarmo - hes not sticking up for the people who are loyal to his site and hes allowing this woman to speak whatever she wants and hes censoring all retaliation. Bad.

  14. Haha AussieAxl you crack me up. :rofl-lol: And yeah it is Axl and the bands fault that theyve never been to Australia or New Zealand so you and I can see them! Bout time they bloody came down under aye mate..

  15. I want to make a point to Madison. You like this bakery right. YOuve been going there for years and theyve got really nice food. Sure they dont owe you any kind of courteousy or manners because thats not what your buying - but its good business and good PR that they do treat you nice and they do keep their promises - like when you expect your favourite beef pie to be there every morning - they dont have to have it ready for you but they do. Thats respect two ways. You are loyal to them - so they return the favour. Its the same in this situation. Axl sells and product that we buy - and we keep buying it because we like it but also because we are loyal. The feeling SHOULD be mutual. Big lesson needs to be learnt here.
