  1. and you are supposed to be people who should be supporting robin because he's the lead guitarist in their supposed favorite band.

Why should people support him if they don't like him?

I support Tommy, Richard, Brain, Chris and Ron as they are competant enough to replace their respected predocessors. Robin does not fufill the position he has been given. He is not Lead Guitarist material. Changing his image from Cyber Goth to Hippie Tramp was a form of selling out for me, and I do not support shit like that.

    :rofl-lol:

You dumb shit - Robin has ALWAYS changed his look. Over the past 10 years hes changed it about 7 times. Its part of who he is. Go look at some old pictures of him.

no he hasnt. i just looked at him. he went from punk, punk mixed goth manson style (or all fucked up), to circus freak, to now so thats like 4 but 3 of those are very hard to notice much difference. so really freak and now.

Im sorry but who are you?

To prove my point here are some pictures of him over the years..

Before NIN he had his band "bat Your Lashes" which he dressed in a 'rock' kinda style but with his own twist.

Hes not a guy whose trying to be a 'goth' or a 'hippie' - he chooses his style from a range of cultures and influences. Like for example he likes to wear clogs which is dutch and bandanas round his neck which is very southern. Hes known to wear Sambreos (sorry bad spellings) which is Mexican.

  3. Wow Mandy completely OWNS P4Axl! rock2 rock2

And its kinda of funny how most of the posters here who claim to dislike Finck - have pictures of Slash in their avatar or signature. Looks like they are still pissed at Slash leaving and being replaced with someone 10000 times better! rock3

Robin not only fills Slash's shoes...he pisses all over them!

If Robin ever writes guitar work anything near Appetite, I'll drink a pint of my own fucking piss you ignorant bint.

Great! I ll be looking forward to that! Better start practising

  5. bad argument. its not a matter of needing someone else to pick up robin's slack. its because the band is awesome with 3 guitarists who each have their own style and bring their own thing to the table. gilby cited this as one of his reasons for quiting/getting himself fired was because he didn't want to play in a band with 3 guitarists.. and this was 1994.

The only thing bad about the argument here is that you needed to bring up Gilby and 1994 to try and justify a point. Of course 3 guitarists will have their own styles and each bring something different to the table. Having 12 guitarists will do the same thing, does that still make it a good thing? Fact is, he either can't or won't play all the material on his own. I do give him credit for one thing though. Most "lead" guitarists are just that, lead. Not sure how many would feel having 2 others in the band do their job for them and not take it as a slap in the face. He's taking it like a man. :)

So maybe there is some people on this board who don't like Finck but it doesn't seem to matter because critics are diggin' him so fuck 'em.

Oh, so now it only matters what the critics have to say, not the fans?

OK, I'll remember that the next time the band gets a shit review...

At the end of the day the guys reviewing them for newspapers and magazines are gonna be the ones who influence a lot of people in the general public, so if a large part of them are saying the new band are good and Robin 'in particular' is very good, then it's excellent for the band.

So a minority of fans on this forum dislike Robin Finck, fair enough but when the record comes out a lot of minds will be changed. You only have to listen to his work on the demos to know that the guy can take the reigns that Slash dropped years ago. His solo in 'Better', 'There Was A Time' and the new solo in 'I.R.S' live demonstrate that the guy has an obvious song/solo writing talent and is more than just a chord basher for NIN.

Your original post seemed to be directed towards the people on this board, who by the way are not in the minority when it comes to their dislike of Finck's playing. If you were referring to the general public, well then of course positive reviews from outside critics would be a good thing for the band.

I will say that I do hope you're right that minds will be changed about Robin once the record is released. Being compared to the original member who wrote and performed the music he now has to play was inevitable and came with the job when he was hired. When the album drops he will finally be judged on his own merits.

A quote from Robin to you..

"smash everyone on every pedestal you hold above yourself and make a sound from the beginning. listen with total disregard of how you think any may judge you. know to your core that it will not be the last noise you make. listen. keep on. do it over and again. love it."

  6. I think it was amazing... a full band version would be incredible. However it proved Robin's skill as a rhythm guitarist rather than a lead ( he played a lot more chords n stuff) whereas Richard can shred and doesn't screech notes for all they're worth. This is why I think their positions should be switched... It's entirely Axl's choice however it's just my opinion. I'm not hating on Finck i just admire him more as a rhythm artist than a lead and fortus vice versa. Sossego rocks!

Oh shut up - do you always have to turn it around to a FINCK vs Slash/Buckethead/Richard/Bumble thread.

And let me guess - the guy who said "Oh yeah its a good song but its in Portuguese' is American?

  7. STFU.

    Cry me a fucking river.

Be happy he didn't cancel the show.

You people bitch and complain about everything fucking thing Axl does. First you people bitch and moan that the CD isn't out, so the guy postpones a few fucking shows so they can get the CD ready for release....and what do you do in return??? You bitch and moan because of the shows being postponed!

Well guess what....you can't have everything done your way.

    Fuckin a.

    wow..

do you feel all better now..

do you need your bottle of milk..

    what the problem is..

if you set the show up on a date, it should be on that date.. :drevil:

she had every thing all set up to do this show, and it gets moved...

maybe your rich, and dont have a job or kids..

and, dont have to worry about stuff like that..

    but, sounds like she did...

Sorry, I'm not rich, and I do have a job and go to school.

I don't know what you're trying to get at.

If the show I got tickets for got postponed, I wouldn't cry. I'd adjust to the situation and get ready for the new date.

Life's a bitch. Shit happens. I'm pretty sure there are more important things in life than worrying about when you're gonna get to see GN'R.

Yeah but in the world of GNR and Axl Rose shit always seems to happen. Coincidence? I think not.

  8. never imagined that he would stage dive someday in a concert.

Greatest member of this band after Axl.

Well considering he was nicknamed "Sick Motherfucker" back in NIN days - I would say stage diving is just childs play to him now ;)

  9. Thank You! Im glad you assholes enjoyed it! Come back anytime.

If you weren't some indiscriminate bitch on an internet forum with the IQ of a slug, I might actually give a flying fuck. But I have to admit, I do enjoy reading ridiculous posts on here, too bad you also showed us what a dumbass you are too. Yes, come back anytime. :)

Im the indiscriminate bitch? Thats a fucken good one Slappa. Your the one who comes here and spews your bitter shit on anything thats to do with Finck and the new gnr. YOu need a fucken life man - instead of crawling the internet sites for excuses to share your theory that the sun shine and sets on Slash's arse. Im sorry lady - Slash dont want ya to suck his cock. ;)

    Your boring :sleeper:

  10. this is just gonna turn into a "he's shit compared to slash" bashing thread.

    I don't see why.

If it's a comparison on Slash playing his own material and Robin trying to cover it, that's one thing, but this thread is about the new songs. It would be impossible to say if Robin plays them like shit compared to Slash...

Funny how die-hard Slash fans are accused of turning a thread into something else, yet case in point, they're not always the ones who bring Slash up.

As far as hair standing on end with the new songs, just doesn't happen with me. I like some of the new songs, but they don't take my breath away. Hearing the opening notes of the Blues doesn't compare to the feeling that comes over me when I hear the opening to NR. Or the intro to IRS compared to the intro to Brownstone. Judging from the crowd reaction and the reception the old songs get compared to the new, I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Yeah and now your continuing the argument. Go back to the VR section. We dont need Slash's cock groupies over here. BYe ;)

  11. Wow. Bad obsession, that was some serious pwnage. lol. Good work.

I've got respect for all new Gnr members and all former Gnr members. So far they've all mad music I love. Although new Gnr hasn't released any yet. Which is an escuse people often use to justify there bashing of the new band. I don't take it personal when I hear someone say "slash sucks" or "finck can't play" I just let it slide. If thats the way the feel thats the way they feel, as long as they don't go over board with it.

    Tbizzle

P.S. That was a horrible post. Fuck.

Hehe no it wasnt. It was the most intelligent one in this thread. I like you.

  12. AD, your cool man - I like how you defend Robin. We all know Robin's got what it takes.

However - your just stirring the pot there - saying Slash is overrated. The guy is one of our most influential guitarists of our time. You can like Robin but it doesnt mean you have to hate Slash. And that also goes for the people who love and respect Slash - you dont have to hate Robin. I mean Slash and Robin dont even hate each other so why must their fans?

    PEACE.

  13. I have nothing against him. I just think the band don't need him at all. He is quite..humm... useless. he was even booed by the crowd. That was the first time in my life I saw a guy beeing booed onstage, lol. To be honnest, i hope the band will return with 2 guitar players: Richard and Robin...and that's it :)

Honnestly that's it, I didn't really pay attention to bumblefoot, once again nothing against him, but the band absolutely don't need him (or a 3rd guitar player whoever he/she is). Axl, Fortus and Finck were the 3 guys I watched more. Richard and Robin ARE the GN'R current guitar players. Bumblefoot is just an "additional musician". Kinda like pittman.

dude grab the "normal" album, you can even grab the torrent if you're too cheap, best album since... fuck, the last bumblefoot album i guess.

to prefer robin over ANYONE is just ignorant as hell, he is like the paris hilton of guitarists- just a no talent freak that got money and fame handed to him. axl was probably high as fuck when he decided he wanted robin, i mean, the main reason that anyone goes to cirque du soleil is usually because they're high as fuck

In no way has Robin come close to the level Slash is at. But that is beside the point because I dont think Finck is interested in being the same. I think Axl hired Robin because he saw in him the musical attributes that Izzy has. His artistry, and ability to write catchy material. Finck doesnt want to be another entertainer. He wants to be an artist. You can say what you want about him - he does have something that will not make him a Slash replacement - but something of his own. You guys totally have the right to criticise how he plays Slash's notes but lets not write him completely off before hes had his chance to prove himself. Hes given up nine years of his career for this project I think he deserves that dont you?

  14. Axl never says "and this one was a Slash song." Reminds me of what U2 said about helter skeleter "Charles Manson stole this song from the Beatles, we're stealing it back"

"We stole this song from Slash when he was drunk, he still hasnt sobered up, this is called Nightrain"

Maybe Slash can't play guitar. It was just a secret FBI plot to take down the government from inside. It's a riddle wrapped in an enigma inside a mystery, even the band don't know how they did it.

Axl said Coma was 'Slash's baby.

And why does a song have to be complicated to be good? The simpler the better I say
