This might have been said before but the opening scene/chapter of Inglourious Bastards is one of the most finely crafted moments of recent cinema.
totally agree, its an amazing scene, you can just feel the tension slowly building.

Seeing The Fighter tomorrow night.
great performance by Christian Bale
Aye. It was brilliant. I thought Mark did a great job as Mickey too.
Kind of surprised at how much I liked it tbh. Ahh
Yea it was a good movie, Bale has some great acting chops. One of my favorites of his is the Machinist. To me Walberg is a little overrated as an actor. He can be a solid in certain roles, but I don't think he pushes them past that.

Fucking garbage.
wasn't really impressed either, I mean it was ok

Saw the social network.....meh, not as good as the fighter or even true grit in my opinion.
Did see the other guys, was very pleasantly surprised.
eek other guys? that was horrible, the two best characters sadly to say were samuel L jackson and the rock, and you never saw em again after their first scene.

anybody else going to this show on Friday? would love to see and meet some other guns fans

The one thing that makes me doubt this is that Adler would have told this story a hundred times by now.
you nailed it

when you really think about it, the (the oakland raiders, jerry rice #80 jersey), pretty much the main jersey that Axl wore when he burst back on the scene at the VMA's and all, actually makes sense.
I dont know if he was going for this message, but Jerry Rice when he was aquired by the Raiders, was pretty much written off as being done, too old, washed up, and should of given up on football. Next thing you know, Rice does great for them and propels them to a superbowl. I always figured that maybe Axl found some kind of similarity with Jerry Rice's situation and to his, and wanted to show this. Maybe I am going to deep into it, but it could make sense.
Out of all the jerseys he wore, the raiders jersey was def the most badass, thats the only one that should ever see the light of day again.
THIS.
Always made a lot of sense to me.
I do get that, BUT he also LOVES the Raiders. I remember at the Oakland 2006 show he said something to the effect of Oakland is home to my beloved Raiders.... Also, the Raiders were playing in LA in the 80's and early/mid 90's.....
Yea that could be it, I never heard that before, it would make sense then, cuz LA had a real love affection for the Raiders, it really hurt the city when they moved.
But then again we could also say, why did he pick Jerry Rice, he had Tim Brown and Rich Gannon to choose from lol . Either way the raiders jersey is one of the most badass and classic uni. He chose well.

It's the most efficient mechanism (in terms of Axl) for getting a new song out there. With no new record in sight and an evident reservation about displaying new songs for the first time live, a soundtrack is the perfect means of satisfying a music hungry fan base.
yea it would be a nice bone that GNR could throw us, I don't know if they realize how much something like that could hold us over during these long breaks of silence
Philly Guns I want #45 Shelley in your sig pronto.
hahaha someone a few months ago told me I needed Leino in there, I am running outta room , maybe I will switch someone else out with him for ya

yea I really thought this was the reason he wore that specific jersey, so I kind of looked past the whole idea of being cuz it was a hip hop thing. If I remember correctly didn't he wear both the white and black raiders jerry rice #80 uni at all the shows/festivals before they hit the US in 2002.
Axl's all about symbolism and metaphor. I had never pondered why he chose that jersey, but damn it makes sense.
two men, who were beaten and worn down, ready for round 2

Axl is gonna wait for Atlas Shrugged 2, for the re-re release of CD

Saw Black Swan today. Better than I thought. It was something a little different. Worth a watch IMO.
Saw that tonight with my girlfriend...
I had absolutely no idea what it was going in to the theatre (hadn't seen any previews or read anything about it, only heard her mention it), and it didn't really occur to me to ask what it was about til we were in the seats, aha
Not bad, though. Not really my type of movie and it was pretty predictable, but it wasn't too bad...
I went without knowing much about it too but liked it.
This is just me being weird but a lot of the way it was filmed and edited made me feel uncomfortable. Like the emphasis they put on certain things and nosies (don't want to go into detail and spoil the movie for others). A few times I thought I was going to pass out
Yea I hear what your sayin about how it was shot, but I think it really helped allow you to experience what the character was going through, see through their eyes.

Saw The King's Speech. Wow. Colin Firth has some fuckin' chops. Hilarious banter between the two. Really like this film.

around 4:40 during the guitar solo frank starts playin the drums like the original style

I think it would be cool, maybe for a solo album or something along those lines.
yea that would be sweet, just think if he did something where he had someone film him playing all the piano parts to some old and new songs, in his home on a grand piano or something. That would be insane

we need to make a new section for complaining.
but ia.
it would be the greatest thing to happen to this forum, one section, one place, one hell hole for all the "what shirt color brings out the sparkle in axl's eye more" stuff.
