  1. I want to see the UYI Documentary footage. That must be some amazing footage. I don't care about the MTV rehearsal. Way over-rated. He rehearsed, I don't see what the big deal is.

    +1

That's on the top of my list too. I don't give a fuck about a Fake GNR documentary, it would be too boring anyways. I wanna see Guns N' Roses in their prime days partying like hell, in the same style like Pantera's "Vulgar Videos" rock3

One day I'm sure it will come, but probably not in another 10 or 20 years...

  2. "What you see is what you get with Axl. The guy is a legend and a Black Label brother. He's the shit. I played with Guns N' Roses [in the mid-90s]. I was in Studio B and they were in Studio A. So I played Axl some of my shit, like 13 Years Of Grief. And he was like "Zakk, what fuckin' market are you trying to reach with that?" I told him "I dunno, the fuckin' farmer's market?"

So we ended up hanging and jamming together - me, Axl, Slash, Duff [McKagan], Matt [sorum] and Dizzy [Reed]. And I was like Axl, when are you gonna start singing on this shit? Let's quit fuckin' around here!" And that's when Black Label Society was born because I had all these riffs hanging around, and I thought, "Fuck it, I'll do it myself." But it's not because Axl is hard to work for. It's because he cares. He had so much passion. And I'd rather have that than some douchebag who doesn't give a fuck."

Is that a real Wylde quote?

i think so.. it's sourced: Classic Rock (March 2009, Issue 129)

It's just that he talks like a friggin cartoon character :rofl-lol:

    yeah he's a fucking goof

Zakk fucking rocks!!! He's actually a really down to earth guy, and is very cool to his fans. Have you ever been to a BLS concert? It's fucking intense rock1

  3. 1.musical direction. AFD transformed into UYI, transformed into CD. seems a logical progression IMO.

Exept that CD didn't have Izzy, Slash or Duff to contribute with the song writing. They are all essential to make a real GNR product, don't you get it? Steven is also essential of course, but they did survive with 4 out of 5 gunners on UYI, even though Matt's drumming is very boring and uninspiring at times. But when it's just 1 out og 5 left, there is just no point to use the name Guns N' Roses anymore, not matter how great you think CD is...

This is true he has a vested interest in the og lineup, could even be right from a purists perspective but it's not his band. I would say 80% of fans are totally happy with GNR today. The lineups issues are for the obsessed really and people involved with the band.

Bullshit! 80% of fans on THIS FORUM are happy with it. In the real world it's the complete opposite.

  4. "But if I were Axl, in NO WAY would I call

that band Guns N’ Roses. The kids know

GN’R. No need to explain to you, just listen

to the albums we recorded. You can’t

    argue with that."

    - Duff McKagan

Damn fucking straight! You Axlites don't understand that just because Axl forced himself to own the name back in the days, doesn't mean that this "band" is Guns N' Roses. To me and most of the real GNR fans, the name Guns N' Roses represents a unit of five guys from the streets who was an equal gang. A gang who helped each other build the most dangerous and badass band in the world. A band who was a democracy and not a dictorship (at least before Axl made himself the "boss"). But you fanboys are just too blind to see the name for what it really is. You guys just say "Uh, it's just a name, get over it mullethead. And BWT, Axl should grow back his goatie again 'cause it roxx" etc.

  5. "Well, it's obviously not Guns N' Roses. I think

all the fans know that. It's not even right that he

uses the name, because he's the only guy left."

    - Izzy Stradlin

At least somebody agrees with me...

Or did. That was way before he very willingly joined the wrongdoing on stage with Guns N' Roses in 2006...

He still does. Just because he played some gigs with Fake GNR, doesn't mean he believes that band is Guns N' Roses. Of course he doesn't, use your brain.

  6. I'm so lucky I consider this lineup to be GnR and that I like CD cause I still have this band to watch today. I don't have to go to 20 year old videos on YouTube to watch what I consider to be GnR.

25 years guys. GnR is a band that evolves. Always has been, always will until the end. That's GnR. You can prefer an album over the others, but to prefer just one lineup is \to focus on one small range of time in the long history that is this band.

Why are you lucky to do so? Because you're fooling yourself?

I can still watch Fake GNR. Hell, I even saw them to times this summer and they rocked. But when I watch concert clips on youtube, I will of course watch the real band, simply because they are much better and they have a real rock attitude and an INSANE energy. I was lucky enough to see the real band, and once you have seen the real band you know in your heart that there can only be ONE Guns N' Roses, and that's the original.

If you wasn't there, you should just shut the funk up. It's like I should start a discussion with a war vetaran, I can have all the info and watched all the documentaries in the world, but it would just be silly because i wasn't there.

    R.I.P. Guns N' Roses

  7. Alan Niven: I think we’re looking at coercion and unpleasantness and meanness of spirit that elicits a negative response when they see a ‘Guns N Roses’ banner over a crowd at Leeds which is exacerbated by a Slash look-a-like who is doing the same moves and wearing a top-hat. Where there is a guy who looks rather similar in haircut and body language to Izzy and plays a hollow body guitar and you look at the bass player and think ‘well, that’s the closest they could find to Duff. I think that’s a tremendous deceit on Axl’s part. I think it’s an incredible insult to the people who made Guns N' Roses what it was… to Izzy, to Steven, to Slash, to Duff and I think it’s very callous and arrogant. I think it’s foolish for Axl to do it and I think it’s foolish for an audience to accept it.

Just my point! It's just crazy to keep that look when you replace a rock icon like Slash. A very bad move.

This band is NOT Guns N' Roses. I know all you Axlites smart asses always say things like "Uh, how come it says Guns N' Roses on my concert ticket?" etc, and it's fucking bullshit! Guns N' Roses died in 1990 as Alan said. I like the CD album as a Axl solo album, but to call it Guns N' Roses is very disrespectful to the GNR lagacy, because it simply doesn't reach up to the GNR standard. And please save me for that "It's better than AFD and UYI because This I Love makes me cry every time I hear it". Pussies.

If you dont like it fuck off, its plain simple.

Fact is : The current gnr are more exciting, have better songs, have more fans, put on better concerts, are in more demand then any of the old ex members currently (velvet revolver anyone? LOL fucking EL OH EL).

If you dont like the current gnr, then theres something wrong with you and you should learn to grow the fuck up and accept that things aren't always 'clear cut' and that in music, there is no rules, and politics aside, this band has proven themselves that they are more than capable of creating and performing music that not only pays homage to the gnr legacy, but surpasses it on many levels.

so if you dont like gnr in 2010, go enject yourself with some cool drugs and drink some jack like your old 80s guitarist and reminisce on the old band whilst the rest of us can accept and love this band for what it is and enjoy the music and the concerts while we still have them.

I like it, but i think it's bullshit that they are called Guns N' Roses (like the majority does), plain and simple.

You think the current "GNR" surpasses the real band??? How old are you, kiddo? As I said, I like Fake GNR, but they are NOTHING compared to Guns N' Roses! Not a damn thing. Guns N' Roses doesn't exist anymore, and you know it. Punk.

  8. 9. (Admittedly, I was a believer in the DJ-copies-Slash-lolz bullshit only a month or two ago, but I've done my research and grown a liking for him in the past month)

I did some research too, and now I feel sooo embarrassed  OMG, what will the DJ fanboys on my GNR forum think about me now? I'm so sorry :violin:

Please just forget what I wrote in this thread, I don't want my reputation to be destroyed... DJ is one of the most original and influential guitar players of this generation, and I kinda wish he was an original member of Guns N' Roses...

    0.jpg

What the hell was I thinking, calling him a Slash wannabe?

  10. Sure, some of you forum-fanboys will stick up for him no matter what. But the majority of the people that see him live thinks the same as me; "Why does he try so hard to be just like Slash?"

And don't give me the same bullshit answer like "have you talked all all the people who attended?" etc because you all see my point.

  11. is he allowed to wear pants or are those slash territory as well?

people complained cause bucket looked to different, now ashba looks too familiar.

WE NEED LESS BLANKETS AND MORE BLANKETS!

You joke about it, OK. But it's not hard for anyone to see that DJ is copying Slash BIG TIME!

Everyone should have their own style, even if that means putting a bucket on your head...

  12. yeah cigarettes are off limits now because slash smoked them first.

Top hats, cigarettes, flannels, Les Paul guitar's, etc

Clearly he patented all these things and were never done before..

That's not my point and you know it. My point is that when you replace such an icon as Slash, it's just silly to copy his style so much. And as I said, only the DJ Ashba fanboys will argue with me on this.

At least Robin had his own identity (even though he was mr. sloppy).

  13. Why does this guy have to copy Slash so much??? It's completely unoriginal: Same guitar, top hat, simular skirts, and he even has the same standing position with his legs and a sigarette in his mouth :rofl-lol:

You have to be a real blind fanboy if you don't think this is just a little too embarrassing :rofl-lol: The song was cool enough, but very Slash inspired.

  14. CD is a solo record. Doesn't matter if it is called GNR.

Surely all the apologists can admit that.

Can somebody please ban this Axl-hating cupcake?

My copy of Chinese Democracy says it's by Guns N Roses. Yet, I have some no-name internet cupcake telling me that it's a solo album.

Hmm ... I wonder who I should believe?

Oh please! Of course Chinese Democracy is a solo album! Simply because Axl is the boss and has the last say in everything that happens. And we all know why this "band" is still called Guns N' Roses...

  15. I think we're about to see the end of Fake Guns N' Roses. It seems like it has almost become a sport to throw shit at Axl on stage, just to make him go away. Maybe they think it will break up the band if it happens at every show? But if somebody in the crowd next to me did something like that, I would have beat him senseless.

  16. Pretty cool, but Korn are not what they used to be (kida like GNR). The new drummer has no groove unlike David Silveria (kinda like Frank compared to Steven, only worse).

I remember when Korn guitarist Munky were asked on the radio what he thought about having Axl appearing at their release party in 2006, he said something like "Uhm... My mom always said if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all". I wonder what happend...

  17. if Axl teamed up with Rihanna for a kind of If The World/RnB collaboration type song, then I think it would do very well on the charts, not to mention gain a lot of exposure for GnR as collaborations are more common and popular now more than ever.

Oh yes, anything for the mighty charts... Let's hope they do what's "popular" with the kids these days
