I'm quite amazed at how little attention and press this info seems to be getting. I used to get texts from people about e.g. New Guns tour announcements. Haven't heard from anyone.

Most bizarrely, Rolling Stone have NOTHING on their homepage about Slash returning! Their bit about Coachella has been dropped down. Rolling Stone used to have major headlines every single time ANYTHING happened in the last years whether a tour or lineup change or interview.

What's up with that?

I'm still wondering if they are getting an exclusive interview and that's why they've been quiet.

Nothing wrong with giving Steven a chance? He could easily fuck things up before they even really started. With the amount of money at stake there are plenty of reasons to keep him out.

I mean don't get me wrong-I enjoyed Axl's vision for GNR. I saw him live 5 times between 2002 and 2010 (Every time he came close enough to go) and I am still a very big fan of Chinese Democracy. I want anything and everything released from the vault and I suspect I'd enjoy most of it.

But this is pretty special in a way that's hard for me to describe.

As far as oweing anyone anything goes, doesn't Slash deserve a public apology/explanation as to why he's been called a cancer best removed and forgotten and that he should have left Guns after Lies?

And that's coming from someone who has been on Team Axl since '96.

I would imagine there have been some extensive conversations that have taken place behind closed doors. I don't believe we'll ever hear much beyond "we talked, worked through a lot of things, put the past behind us, and are really excited to be working together again."

I'd love to hear all of the details and how fences were mended but I don't think that will happen-which I completely understand. I would imagine a lot of it is private and I get that.

What if the choice was to either bring Slash and Duff back or reach the end of GNR? Would you still be unhappy if those were the only two options?

My thought (well my hope anyway) is that it was a mistake to list him at all and it wasn't supposed to be announced until after Coachella makes their announcement.

My hope is that the appearances are part of the promotion for Coachella and they don't want more leaks until they get their moment tomorrow.

Lineup is Ax, Slash, Duff, Fortus, Frank, Dizzy. Izzy does some guest spots. If a three guitar lineup continues it will be Kushner as the third.

New greatest hits is announced with 2/3 new/unheard songs on it.

The argument against this only being about money is that the money has always been there for a reunion.

Any chance Axl is the "officially announced" guest but they bring out both him and Slash together? That would be the best way to promote the reunion IMO.

The fact that he's appearing on Jimmy makes me think that there is a really good agency behind all this. I'm a marketing/pr person, and this is the first time that I see anything GnR related in an organized way. Very exciting.

A legit promotional agency and push might be a stipulation in exchange the big fat checks the promoters are writing.
