  1. Axl going on Jimmy Kimmel next week to talk GnR

Hey, finally Rolling Stone shows up to the party!

"Axl will appear and address these rumors" is a lot different than "Axl will appear to confirm these plans"....

Yeah, sure. He's gonna to be in show and say that it's bullshit... Right like so many times before... ;)

    So I'm nervous. Sue me.

  2. I find the idea of a hybrid line-up without Izzy uterly depressing. There would never have been a Guns N' Roses in the first place without him.

Well, millions of people were happy to go see an Izzy-free lineup on the UYI tour and accepted it as GNR. If they can do it in 1992, why can't they do it now?

Comments like yours really baffle me. I mean, what do you expect them to do? Millions of people want to see Axl and Slash perform on a stage again, are they supposed to turn it down just because Izzy doesn't want to do it? That's on Izzy. Don't hate on Axl and Slash for Izzy's actions. I'm certain they would have him their in a heartbeat if he wanted to be a part of it.

Some people will complain no matter what.

Axl-Slash-Duff? They will complain there is no Izzy. If they get Izzy, they will complain that there is no Steven.

If they do Festivals, there will be complaints that they aren't doing a headlining tour. If they do a tour, people will complain that there is no album.

If they do an album, people will complain it doesn't sound like AFD. If it sounds like AFD, people will complain they got lazy.

Yeah, this is even more appropriate today.

  3. So who thinks they will hang together? Do you think they are friendly enough for that or will it be the only time together is on stage?

I think they are more likely to potentially spend time together now than if they had never broken up. Look at how Aerosmith operates now.

But with Axl and Slash not having spent much time together at all until recently, I would think that once they talked in person that a lot of bad feelings dissipated. They might not be best friends, but I can see them spending some time together.

  4. I donno, to the few who are talking about Axl's appearance... How was your morning run?

I get your point, but are any of us about to charge people $275 a head to watch us do our jobs?

Depends on the job though right? If I figure out an hourly wage for my work I sometimes charge $250 / hour (not that my job is by the hour, it just works out that way)

I do what I have to do to make sure I can do that job, being approx 40, I can no longer do that same job exactly like I could at 20 though :)

Can you perform it well enough to justify the hourly rate? I think that's all anyone is really asking of the band.

Yes I can. I feel that Axl will and can as well. Keep in mind we are months away from anything live... I think? Anyway I don't really wanna discuss this because at the end of the day he can do more cardio than I can :)

I'm actually in agreement with you on this. I think he'll take it seriously, I think he'll be in shape, and I think his voice will be fine.

  6. Anyone whining here that this should not be called reunion because there's no Steven or that it should not be called a reunion because Axl is too fat should be banned.

Jesus, people, what's with you? Is Axl's gut or no gut the most important thing to you? Well, maybe you just made a major mistake and should have followed NKOTB or some Justin Bieber in recent times because GN'R was never about whose ass looks better to a bunch of weirdos.

And, no, weight is not directly correlated with voice. Axl isn't weighing 250 kilos and with his few extra kilograms he could still be very fit if he worked on his physical condition.

So stop analyzing his ass for goodness sake and rejoice.

This is the best moment for all of us fans in decades!!!!

Turning it into a Axl's ass disappointment thread is a disgrace!!! If anyone from the camp is reading this they must be thinking real hard now where they went wrong to be cursed with such a bunch of psychos as so called fans...

He doesn't need to look like he did in 1991.

He does need to be fit.

  8. Am I alone in thinking that the speculated reunion, in its speculated format defies credibility?

Both Slash and Duff have made it abundantly clear in the past that they would not go back without the full original line-up. Duff has stated that he views Izzy as the most important member of the band, and that his departure was the catalyst to the band breaking-up. I know the offer of a big pay day can have a big influence, but still...

Is it possible that Izzy just isn't interested? If was asked but didn't want to do it I could could see that changing Slash and Duff's stance on it.

As far as Adler, I'm wondering if promoters are willing to take that risk given what kind of money is going to be on the line. Are Slash/Duff going to scuttle a multi-million dollar pay day over Adler?

  9. I know everyone is dubious that Axl is going to get in shape or take this seriously, but imo this is the only thing that is going to motivate him to get in shape and perform.

Is he really going to show up to this thing and let the story be that Slash did great, but Axl was out of shape both physically and vocally? Is Slash going to do this without some assurances that Axl takes it seriously?

  10. My sister in law suffers from addiction. Before her habit, she was one of the kindest, sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure of being around. She is my wife's stepsister, and we both loved her as if she were our own flesh and blood. She was a wonderful niece to our daughter. She loved and helped rescue animals.

Unfortunately all of that changed when she became an addict. She disappeared for months at a time. She stole money and possessions from various family members, including her grandmother that was suffering from dementia. She blamed her grandmother's illness for her thinking she was stealing money. She began to treat her young daughter very poorly. She hooked up with a drug dealer and began selling herself for drugs. Her drug dealer threatened to shoot me for trying to help her get clean. She's been charged with multiple crimes related to her addiction, including assault and theft. She's had multiple kids with her drug dealer boyfriend, contracted STDs, and lives in a house with no power because they can't, or won't, pay the power bill before buying drugs. Her boyfriend cut her ear off for not turning enough money in. It was blamed on a dog at the hospital but the cut was too clean for it to have actually been a dog. She no longer sees the child she had with her one-time husband.

I get where Mary is coming from. The choice is to either walk away or let the addicted person drag you to hell with them. I'm sure she's not perfect, but she has every right to be angry and every right to be sad that her children have been robbed of a father. I was a big fan of Scott's. He was an incredible talent. But for those of you criticizing his ex for ever getting involved with him while absolving Scott for his faults, remember that he was one of the most charismatic people in music. Of course people were drawn to him. As much as we enjoyed his talent, Scott was not the person we saw on stage entertaining us. We can enjoy his work while still understanding that his addictions made him a terrible husband and father.

His kids will go throw life hearing how wonderful Scott was-a characterization they will not be familiar with.
