Alright for instance
Queens of the stone age - 4 albums and two side projects being the (sessions qotsa albums)
Eagles of death metal - two studio albums (relatively new band also featuring josh homme)
Dave Grohl - 6 albums, Three Foo Fighters albums, drummed on QOTSA album "songs for the deaf" , drummer for "Tenaceous D" album...released a solo album called "Probot"
over 12 albums between them in under ten years, not bad
All of these bands did not get thrown off the tour. The EODM did. Just because there were the same people involved in these projects does not make the EODM better. Good musicians sometimes make bad albums.
Hell, it doesn't even make Axl right, he wasn't. Someone in the public eye should probably take more care with their words.

From what I am reading Dave Grohl doesn't even play in this band any longer. I don't even see how he is part of the argument.

me and a friend who also like GNR are into Eagles of Death Metal, they have the swagger of the stones but they also have a sense of humour .....very enjoyable live band too, you havent heard of them because maybe you havent had the exposure and your just saying that to defend Axl which is understandable on a GNR message board
Actually, no I really never heard of them before this. I clicked a few links and listened to some songs when they were announced to be on the tour. (I mean EODM not the Foo Fighters or Nirvana, btw). Because this is about the EODM not the other bands mentioned who obviously everyone knows.
Axl was wrong to handle it the way he did. I don't think anyone can dispute that. But what's done is done.

Funny, if EODM have released all of these albums full of quality material why have I never heard of them before this?
What I did finally hear sucked big time. Granted Axl could have handled this more professionally but they really do suck.
Even a "fun time band" should sound good. I listened to 1 minute of 1 of their songs and got a freakin' headache.

On the Contrary...I LOVE Guns N Roses....but just calling this group of fill ins "GNR" doesnt magically make them Guns N Roses...sorry but the members are what made the band....Axl and company...not JUST Axl as Axl would have you believe.
And sorry waiting 4 years to hear Better in Concert is not my idea of a worthwhile wait. You can't be a TRUE fan of GNR without having seen them in their prime (which I went to every show in the NY area) after seeing that and comparing it to what exists now...its pathetic. Anyone who says otherwise has never seen the original members live. Its was the most amazing 3 hours you will ever experience.

This is all pointless banter....after seeing the SAME set for the last 4 years with nothing new..GNR is dead...
Face it Axl Rose (although once great) is now nothing more than an insecure spoiled brat who will never be able to get over his inner demons and release an album already.
The problem with this new band is there is NOTHING interesting about any of the other members, they try to ROCK OUT the old songs like they actually had something to do with writing them..WRONG...and it just feels wrong.
Sorry but without Slash the gig is not the same.

I think its strange to call in sick 2 days before the show hahaha. Its like im gonna be sick in three days I can feel it yeah right. Why can't they tell the real reason for it.
It's not strange at all when you have strep. It takes 3 days just for the antibiotics make you not contagious to others. Same with the flu or any other bad virus like that.
Axl has been fighting something off since September when I saw them in Vegas, he blew his nose the whole time there too. Obviously whatever he had he ignored it until it got bad. Best to rest now before he winds up hospitalized with pneumonia.

I mean past their prime strictly on a performance level in 2006.
Obviously by level of full career, they have most bands beat now AND 30 years ago.

hey dude, you are wrong here, we werent complaining, and the comparison was salient. Axl and Mick are very similar in that they are energetic front men, and have both been at the top of their field. This sint complaining, see Jakomo, Dead Flower, Old Skool etc for that.
I know you are right, this thread isn't that bad as far as complaining goes (at least not yet but they all seem to get there after a few pages these days no matter how innocuous the topic)....I guess I vented in the wrong thread. I just really hate all the negativity.
The Stones in their hayday were great, I don't think anyone can dispute that. My main issue with them is that they charge up to $400 bucks for a ticket to see them here in NY. They obviously don't need that kind of money.

Actualy, in fairness, they are probably one of the 3 best live acts I've ever seen and arguably the best band ever.
Call them old, but these guys seriously rock like very few others ever have.
I just don't see how this is in any way relevant to GnR.
It isn't. People just want something to complain about so they pick any stupid thing to compare GNR to.
It's just fucking sad to me. If you don't like GNR just find something you DO like...I don't get why people can't just move on if they have so much hate for what GNR is now....
