  1. Sorry, I never liked them much. But then again, I don't smoke dope.

Bad comparison to the Crue. Yes, Crue is full of crap these past few years, (with the re-releases) and getting to be as bad as Kiss in ripping off their fans. But the original albums were good, and still are today.

Wow you're an idiot, I've never smoked anything in my life and I've got most of Pink Floyd's albums, a couple DVDs, and a couple posters, they're my fucking band. And the motley crue thing was referring to how Pink Floyd had a lot of talent and don't need to market one or two of their songs to bring in the money when they've got albums full of better music. They're one of the highest grossing bands of all time and they've only got like two "best of" collections, one from the 70's and one from not too long ago (that is what he meant right? cause it's how i interpretted it).

Anyways... Pink Floyd's the best. They maybe weren't the best live but they sure as hell made up for it with their studio performances. Most of David Gilmore's solos are the most beautiful things I've heard from a guitar, I've always wanted to learn to play "Marooned". I love how both Gilmore and Roger Waters switch up on vocals, it adds a lot of variety to their music. "Comfortably Numb" and "Run Like Hell" are probably my favorite songs ever, of course the "The Wall" is my favorite album ever, followed closely by "The Dark Side of the Moon" which I have 3 versions of :D . I just love this band! I don't even talk about GNR like this and look what forum I'm on.

  2. Um...I don't know how to say this...but........

    LED ZEPPELIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plant is maybe worst than Axl live but they are after all champion world rockers.

And I only know Wish... from PF and song is mediocre

That Pink Floyd song isn't a good representation of the band at all, I don't think there's any song that represents this band. And what's a "champion world rocker"?

  3. What a horrible question! Horrible in the sense that I can't decide! Fortunetely... I'm a heavily devoted Pink Floyd fan so my vote goes to them, although after watching Led Zeppelin Live (that 2-disk DVD set with the picture of the desert and the zeppelin shaped cloud in the background) it's still a hard decision.

  4. Where's Bono (the guy on this forum, not the singer guy)? I wanna hear his rebuttle to this, I was waiting for someone to diss the album after hearing everyone suck up to it on Bono's thread.

  5. I don't think they needed to go as far as to sue the band, they prolly coulda just asked. I'd love to hear the band's side of this, I bet the kids won't get shit since they were doing it under the direction of their teacher and they weren't asked individually. Oh well, I doubt they're gonna get what they're asking for since it's like 25 years later and Pink Floyd isn't known to cheat people like that, they've given a lot to charities over the years, maybe a couple of dollars each and a signed album.

  6. Grunge mostly sucks with the exception of a few Pearl Jam and STP songs.

I try to find excuses to leave STP outta the grunge category, they're way better than that shit.

  7. If any of you have the audioslave album, open the insert-thing to the big picture in the middle of all the band members, and going left to right tell me who is who? I know who Chris is now but that's it.

  8. I'm not much of a fan of U2 but I thought that performance was pretty cool. I didn't like the song much but I loved watchin what Bono was doin, he's awesome! The lady he lap-danced looked turned on and distressed all at the same time, and I thought it was funny how he was playing with the cameras. Gotta love stuff like this, makes all those panzy bands who just jump in the air when they're on stage look like shit, it's somehow made me think better of U2 whether I like their music or not, you just gotta love what Bono was doin.

  9. Physical Graffiti is the best album out there. I'm workin on collecting all of their albums, the band members are worth millions already but I think they deserve a lil more from my messed up generation.

  10. Oh, yes!

Ehrm...songs? Hmm, you should try albums :P

Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here and Animals.

If you wanna go for songs first....Echoes, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Money, Dogs, Pigs On The Wing, Wish You Were Here...the list goes on and on :)

thanks dude, ill check them out

Yea I agree, check some of that stuff out. The Wall's my favorite Pink Floyd album but there's not a whole lot of anything you could call being a duo off of that album. Animals seems more of a duo-like thing than any of their albums. Oh how could I forget... just get Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd. :D

  11. I've listened to "Soundgarden: A-Sides" before and the song "Hands All Over" was my favorite, I haven't listened to anything off of them in a while though. Audioslave won't be put aside too soon though.

  12. ^ interesting animals seems tempting maybe i'll go for that one since the wall is pretty expensive

Animals was what really started me on Pink Floyd and now I've got 9 or 10 of their albums, The Wall movie, the movie about Dark Side of the Moon, and a couple posters over my bed. I'd still recommend The Wall since I think that's their most radio-friendly album and more focused on single songs rather than the album as a whole, although the concept behind the album is still very strong. The Wall's #1, both of the posters above my bed are from the movie.

  13. Animals was the album I bought right after I got Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd, Animals is very good. I love how the music escalates more and more after each song until the sheep finally rebel against the dogs. I think it's the dogs they rebel against... damn now I wanna listen to that album all over again. That's just one of those albums that's a movie in its own little way, it kicks ass.

  14. #1 The Wall - my favorite album of all time! Comfortably Numb and Another Brick In The Wall, Pt. 2 are unparalleled. And the whole concept behind the album just lets you take so many directions in trying to interpret it all. I think it's also #3 on the best selling records of all time in the US! Of course, Dark Side of the Moon is in close second place.

    PINK FLOYD RULES!!!

Edit: And don't forget the movie! You might be like me and only watch it all the way through once, but I love skipping to the animated scenes... those are the best.

  15. I know this question was for people outta the US, but I hate Wisconsin sometimes, it seems like half of the white girls have a favorite country singer then the rednecks blast the stuff like there's a revolution unfolding. Country's gotta be the only popular stuff I dislike more than Hip-Hop.

Edit: Don't make me start about the old people and the small towns...

  16. I'd probably fall back onto my old favorites like Pink Floyd. If I wanted a more GNR-feeling song then I'd listen to Slash's Snakepit, I think it sounds more GNR than VR does.
