Yes.. it was posted here awhile ago.. Slash played Hey Joe, in honor of hendrix... Check the DL section, there is a video of him playing in there..

Most of their earlier stuff i find to be quite "feel good" until Roger became a cinical bastard
I swear that man borders on the fine line between Genious and Madman.
Beatles and Floyd, man imagine how good would a concert with both of them would of been.
Oh heres somthing in common, they both had 3 Main singers.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Floyd for me too.. And that statement makes Floyd win it for me. Pink Floyd is music that I sadly see myself identifying with more and more.. The Wall.

I like time of your life.. I'm not the biggest GD diehard, but isn't the real name Good Riddance??
Im not really sure, sorry if I'm mistaken.
-
I like CoB, they're pretty much the only Melodic Death Metal band I've been exposed to.. I really like them musically, and the vocals have started to grow on me more, even though I can't understand the guy half the time...
-
In spanish last year we listened to a lot of it.. but I forget the names of them.
I liked it all a lot. I think "Las Orejas de Van Gough" is one.. I like them, the song 'pop' rocks.
-
Not a fan of any really.. but I like skid row the most out of them.
-
Stairway to Heaven deserves the award. That song influenced so many, it deserves to be number 1. Back in Black deserves a mention too.

My brother is an extremely good drummer.. Just practice, and stick with it. Practice ALOT! Learn songs off CD's that YOU enjoy. Then, join a band, start creating your own beats, and make them fit to the music. Don't give up!! Above all, have fun with it, instruments should be fun, not a chore!!!

And about strats, the only thing I don't like about them is single coil pickups, I prefer HB's more.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Oh thats the main reason why i love strats.
Ok single coils are not good for Metal, but hey, you can't beat them for clean tones, blues, rock and almost anything.
When you think about it, all the artists who have the best tones use Strats (SRV, Clapton, Eric Johnson, Knofler, Gilmour)
But yeah, not only that but they are dream to hold and play
Mind oyu the Strat im building has HB's because everyone needs atleast 1 humbucking guitar.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yeah I agree the clean tones are amazing. I love the sounds Gilmour get's out of his strat, especially with all the effects... I love that 'spacy' sound. For the most part I really do like the tone, but I like the HB crunch, and it just suits how I play more. Have you ever played a fat strat? I believe they have a HB and 2 single coils? I was thinking about picking one up in the future.
-
I too prefer a more scooped rythm tone than lead, with mine I usually use a pedal live to boost mids during leads.

Hmm.. this seems familiar of a thread I started a month or so ago.. And Rick I remember you asked if it was with the guy that trys to be slash or something .
But Yeah I like CoCa. They are very progressive, and they're albums tell a story. It's very interesting, listen to "The Suffering" if you want a good taste. They aren't the greatest band now adays, I prefer Avenged Sevenfold, but they still rock. I had the chance to see them in concert, but family issues put that to an end...
Good Band IMO.

I really don't see what's so bad about it.. Sure it's not the greatest, but I enjoy listening to it. I like The Killers, Greenday, Matchbook Romance, My Chemical Romance etc... I don't see what's so bad about it, to me it's enjoyable music.
-
I know we have a lot of guitar players on here, and I was wondering how all of you like your EQ to be.. Do you like the ''scooped'' mids sound? Or very trebley, a lot of mids, or whatever???
For me I prefer a slightly 'scooped' sound, with more bass than treble. I don't like the "metal" tone, but I prefer my mids not to be prominent, if you know what I mean?
So how do you like your settings?
-
Freddie Mercury. He was an extremely talented vocalist, he was amazing. RIP
-
The Floyd boys. I love them, they are brilliant.
-
Awesome! I'm going to be honest with you, the only part I don't really like are the vocals. IMHO I don't like girls in rock bands, and here she seems to not put enough energy into it, or so it seems. Again that's just me talking, I kinda have the same problem with the singer in my band, except live he puts out more energy than in the studio.
-
I think they will if/when CD is released. I do not believe GnR will go on a tour without a CD to play off of with a lot of new material.
-
For U2 I would listen to anything off "The Joshua (sp?) Tree" I grew up with that album..
-
I find it very under-rated and quite good.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I don't think it is that under rated.. to me it seems like it gets a lot of credit.. which I believe it deserves. My favorite Metallica album, I love it.
-
Slash is one of the best guitarists. So he was in.
I belive that ....it's a hard deciscion
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
regardless if you think he's one of the best...this is a guns n' roses forum and therefore biased towards any member on any poll
i mean, for christ's sake, guns n' roses beat out led zeppelin in a poll of who was better
and axl rose beat out bob dylan for better songwriter...
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yeah I'm biased towards slash and I voted for him but... I admit he is not the best on that list, but since it's for your 'favorite' it is him.
-
Ahh okay.. whenever you have something recorded post it here! We would all love to listen to your music.
-
As much as I love Scott, Cornell rocks!
-
Do you have any recordings of you guys?
Randy Rhodes or Eddie Van Halen
