  1. Hmm... I actually really like his voice. Not all of their material is great but they have a handful of songs which I really love - Disarm, 1979, Zero, Bullet with Butterfly Wings. I like his voice on Disarm the best.

I simply adore Disarm. 1979- all time classic, probably my favorite Smashing Pumpkins song.

I cannot wait until this album comes out.!

  2. WOW.

Absolutely fucking awesome pictures right there.

    Axl LOOKS GREAT!

Oh, and to youknowwho. This is Axl's First Photo Shoot since God-knows-when and people are having a discussion about it, what's so goddamn hard to understand about that?

  3. ^^ oh. I picture dubai as all desert with a few camels and a couple pakis.

Some would find the use of the word "paki" as very insulting. Me included.

    not cool at all.

Paki isn't offenisive at all. It's just a abbreviation sort of word. Easier to say.

Just like calling a telephone- a phone.

yeah...kinda like calling someone spic - short for hispanic. or heeb, for hebrew. or jap, for japanese person. just easier to say, right?

    Those could be offensive.

    But...

Palestinian/ Palastean/ Palistiaean or whatever is way to hard to spell.

    Paki is much easier.

So was it Palestinian or Pakistani that you were trying to say?

Because both of them are slightly different.

Anyways ontopic: Dubai is a great city, and this is very exciting for anybody attending it there.

  4. Nirvana were a better band than Guns...this i can back up till hell freezes over. n then some after. citing any rock star for being arrogant/self glorifying is laughable. kurt was the least. i have enormous respect for him. always will.

This I want to hear.

  5. If you hate GNR so much, then why are you here and not on a Sesame Street message board?

Because great artists can make stupid career moves. Because great artists can still treat fans like shit. Because Axl has enough people to feed his ego already. Because constructive criticism doesn't mean you hate the band, it means you're not blind or naive.

Axl is a great singer, an awesome frontman, and a top-class entertainer. He is one of the most interesting songwriters in rock. The gigs I've seen have all been hugely enjoyable. The fact that people still want C.D. is testament to what a compelling guy he is. He has managed to put together a great band.

    There, that's my praise.

I like the way you put that.

  6. Tough to summarize music history in all genres within 100 albums but a better job could have been made. Alot of mediocre albums that I had not even heard of are up there- and this has nothing to do with my personal musical taste but how much of an influence they had made. Alot of the music up there is good listening music but had not shaped or influenced their time. I feel at times, Time had neglected the true meaning of their list- which was not of the better albums, but of the more influential one. How can I be sure of this? Well, AFD not being up there is good enough proof for me. Not to everyone's taste but had made of huge influence. Oh, and Floyd? Don't get me started on that. <_<

  7. If you asked me this question last month or 2 months ago I would have probably told you "Hell yes, I do have faith in the album coming out this year."

But after so many dissapointments, it doesn't hurt that much anymore.

Have I become as emotional about the album as those who I have put down for being emotional about the album?

I'll wait for it- and keep on waiting. But no more expecting.

  8. I'm probably gonna get flamed for saying this but- what happened to the days when you'd save up months worth of allowance to get a GNR concert ticket- or work your ass off at some crummy low-wage store every day after school in order to afford a ticket to this band's performance. It sickens me how a GNR ticket is now the reward or the treat to one who "surrenders their weapon". I mean, where is the will now? This takes away the beauty of owning a GNR ticket- it lessens the value of it...

    Are you for real?

If a GNR ticket gets even one person to surrender a weapon that may have been used to take another person's life, it's priceless. I can't think of anything more valuable in the world than a human life. So, I think this initiative enriches GNR's image - not cheapens it.

Well there are different ways of thinking about it. But I guess just reading that article has got me feeling nostalgic. I don't even know what GNR's image is nowadays. Hopefully there will be more people like you that look at this in a beneficial way and less people that look at this as a give-away of leftover GNR tickets.

This has got me questioning the value of a GNR ticket and well. I'm just not sure anymore.

Relax. GnR's participation in this program has dick to do with cleaning up the streets. It's just a desperate attempt to get rid of all the unsold tickets for their floundering tour.

Hah. Wow. That's even better. ;) I think that re-enforces my point beautifully.

  11. This is not the usual moaning or bitching but a plea to the band and management:

GnR are without question a great band with loyal fans, fans that deserve a degree of respect and or interaction from the band.We understand the concerns over commenting on issues where the results may change, but it is time the band and management interacted with fans and chucked us a bone.We are not asking for a release date though it would be nice but simply asking for a status/progress report on the band future plans and CD.Some of the comments that have come from people connected to the band regarding fans have been a discrace. We are not just people that sit at computers bitching and moaning about set lists and Axls clothing but people who pay good hard earned money to see the band we love.We are not owed anything from the band but this is no longer an issue of being owed, its an issue of GnR realising what a loyal bunch of fuckers they have fighjting their corner, and trust me we are fighting. We are more than aware of this bands potential but the band should also be aware of the fans potential, we have the potential to help turn this band into the biggest rock band on earth again. It is us that will be standing in line to buy CD and tour tickets, it is us that will be buying crap rags just to read articles relating to GnR.We are loyal and ever patient but enough is enough.Show the fans some respect and throw us a bone.Repay the loyalty that we have given to every incarnation of GnR.While the internet is a big carbage can for most of us it is the only way to get news but because of the lack of official contact we have hoaxes and false hope aswell as crappy rumours designed to mock fans.We are your fans, maybe you may want to make us less open to hoaxes by giving us updates and allowing the band to comment as indeviduals instead of trapping them in your cult like contracts.

Ooops turned into a bit of a bitch :o

Not meant to bitch but just a long term fan who feels very unappreciated.

    Great Post.

    You should definitely send this.

I'm not becoming negative- I'm just beginning to give less of a crap. And I find that worse.
