  1. Altough CD is IMO a masterpiece it won't stand the test of time as a classic album - cause it's not.

So I guess most radios will never play CD songs again, but will continue to play AFD & UYI songs cause they'll always be classics. That's the way it is...

  2. There's definitely one lead guitar player too many - but for the record I'd keep DJ onboard as he fits the best the style Slash used to have.

Sometimes I wonder if Axl chose to have all these guitar players just not to have a prominent lead guitar player (like Slash) once again...

  3. This is my first time posting on this forum; i have been an observer for over 5 years now and it has been an interesting experience.

I only want to add my 2cents on the "Reunion Topic" without getting into the politics of who is right or wrong regarding Axl and Slash or who is my favourite.

I tend to look at things from what is possible across an entire range of things and what is not possible; as it stands i cannot see a Reunion happening for many reasons that people here have already stated.

The current lineup seems happy performing (all be it some unhappy comments made by BBF about the late starts). As has been said, Axl has control and does not have to really answer to anyone, plus the current band has stood by him for a pretty long time now, so i don't see him dropping them to recreate something that ended badly the first time around.

A Reunion would totally change everything and honestly i cannot see Axl or Slash meeting half-way; it's either one way or the other and that is really the answer; it cannot happen.

What i can see is a slim (and i stress slim) possibility of a one-off show, very small in length that will cost whoever wants this thing to happen an amazing amount of dollars with the original lineup.

Just a one-off would propel the band back into the spotlight like nothing we've seen since the early 90's; it has great positives for Axl in that he will kind of be back in the mainstream, but once he would return to the new lineup i think the problems of people saying that they want the original lineup would be coming from every direction and would more than likely destroy what he has worked so hard to build for the last 10-12 years, so for this reason only i don't see it happening.

This is just my opinion, i'm not trying to put this across like i know anything that Axl and Slash are thinking, i could be completely wrong, but i just really wanted to express my feeling/opinion on this topic with everyone. Thanks for reading...

    Great post! Agree 100%!

  4. Nothing against Richard Fortus personally, but Guns N' Roses don't need him.

Seriously, DJ Ashba and Bumblehead could manage the songs quite easily and three guitars are just too much.

Richard Fortus is embarassing because it is obvious he tries too hard on stage. I cringe everytime I see him try to thrash a guitar.

    Yep!

  5. Is it just me or did Axl and Duff's interaction seem more awkward then anything else? Don't get me wrong--it was really cool and Axl and the band sounded great, but I'm talking about mainly Axl and Duff's interaction. Except at the end Axl barely acknowledges Duff.

It's not like when Izzy came on stage, you could tell Axl was happy about it--I was at the first concert when Izzy came back, back in May 06 and it was just electric. There just seems to be some coldness between Axl and Duff, much moreso than there was between Axl and Izzy when he guested.

Maybe Duff just gets a bit confused by so many musicians on stage at the same time...

I mean they're just everywhere - it's hard hard to get around the stage without bumping into someone... :shrugs:
