Did they really? I heard the gnr crowds didn't take a liking to NIN, but that's cool to hear that the band at least treated them nicely.

On a podcast I listen to, one of GN'R's old engineers from back in the 80s/90s is on it and he talked about when NIN opened for GN'R back during the UYI tour for a handful of shows. You are correct that the crowd did not really like them (that's coming from Trent) but the engineer talks about how Axl was a huge NIN fan and there was no bad blood between them. Mind you, that was then...anything could have happened in the following years. But when they toured together, everything seemed good between them

Doesn't Reznor dislike Axl? I thought I had read that somewhere but it was most likely a decade ago, if not longer, so he probably feels differently now.

Well, Robin left NIN for GN'R, but has returned to NIN. I don't think he hates him. When NIN opened for GN'R back in the 90s, they got along.

I'd love to see them collaborate

  3. They practically have zero fan interaction. There's really no connection to their fans, like many other bands have done, especially older ones that have embraced it  (ie: social media)

No interviews, no new album don't help...this band just doesn't seem to really want to connect with their fans

I'll always be a fan, but I just find it odd how they really don't try to connect with the fans more

NIN have embraced it, Metallica, so have Pearl Jam and many others

I definitely wouldn't say they aren't professional though, at least since they have reunited

The old guard getting shaken up about every new GNR member post-Dizzy, especially those with stand-out talent is always hilarious to me

right because all the new members asked for stuff like chicken coops in the studio

    so hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't understand why some people have it against Bucket.

He has more skill in his left little toe nail than half of the other GnR members put together.

He was the best thing about CD and really moved the 2000-2004 version of the lineup into a new sounding fantastic direction that, in my opinion, was one of the biggest ever missed opportunities in rock music.

On a personal level he comes across as an honest kind individual.

He is also very prolific and releases what he wants, not what some board of marketing directors are telling him to do.

I just don't get it. He is a unique true genuine artist.

There's no denying his skill...it's just his look that's the dumbest thing out there. His whole gimmick is just a joke and I'm glad he's not in GN'R anymore. Wearing a KFC bucket on your head and the stories about needing an actual chicken coop in the recording studio....yeah, no thanks

Interestingly enough, the '99 demos do sound like a drum machine. Pity

Freese would be the guy I would hire if I had an open drum seat and needed a pro to sit in. He hits like a knife.

A couple years ago, he was offering album packages depending on how much cash you wanted to part with - he had some downright creative offers:

    https://www.theguardian.com/music/2009/feb/23/full-list-josh-freese-album-package-deals

People may think he was taking the piss with this, and to a large extent, I'm sure he was, but I have to believe he would follow through had fans offered $75 grand to buy an album.

    $75,000 (limited edition of 1)

    - Signed CD/DVD and digital download

    - T-shirt

    - Go on tour with Josh for a few days

    - Have Josh write, record and release a 5-song EP about you and your life story

    - Take home any of his drum sets (only one, but you can choose which one)

    - Take shrooms and cruise Hollywood in Danny from Tool's Lamborghini OR play quarters and then hop on the Ouija board for a while

    - Josh will join your band for a month … play shows, record, party with groupies, etc.

    - If you don't have a band he'll be your personal assistant for a month (4-day work weeks, 10 am to 4 pm)

    - Take a limo down to Tijuana and he'll show you how it's done (what that means exactly we can't legally get into here)

    - If you don't live in Southern California (but are a U.S. resident) he'll come to you and be your personal assistant/cabana boy for 2 weeks

    - Take a flying trapeze lesson with Josh and Robin from NIN, go back to Robins place afterwards and his wife will make you raw lasagna

lol I remember that...I wonder if anyone bought any of the more expensive options and if he actually came through
