  1. Izzy would never rejoin the band, you don't have to worry about that. The few times Axl has talked about him he has mentioned how spontanous he is, such as flying to Mongolia for a pilgrimage or something of that nature. Also Izzy replacing BBF!? You have to be kidding me. The only member Izzy could really replace would be Richard and that will never happen.

Fortus is the best new GNR guitar player! Izzy would easily replace Ron or even Finck. Best solos are made by Fortus, the only one that have enough chemistry to be compared to old members, Izzy included. However there isn't any guitar player in the worl capable of replacing Slash! Slash is unique and his solos are unmatchable. He is the real rock soul and heart, still living in this planet!

Is he the dipshit that bangs down on his guitar every so often? Like he's hitting it real hard to play a note. What the fuck is that all about? To me, he's a waste of space.

  2. GNR as a brand only exists with Axl AND Slash, not either or...they are equally important.

    Wow.

Its remarkable that we can hear you all the way from 1998 or so, when this argument was at all relevant.

Their legend, legacy and best music was done with these two in the band, as well as Izzy. Right now GNR as a name are sellouts...Axl bought the name thinking it would help but it is backfiring because EVERYONE can see this isn't real GNR, except the Axl ass-kissers.

You can't take 4/5 of a band away and still think its the band. Come on, use some common sense. I'd have more respect for the man if he used a different name, and shelved all the real GNR 'aura' (until the reunion tour kicks off in the Fall of '07).

  3. adjective

    1. of the nature of or made or done as a trial, experiment, or attempt; experimental:

    2. unsure; uncertain; not definite or positive; hesitant

    3. Not fully worked out, concluded, or agreed on; provisional: tentative plans.

    4.Uncertain; hesitant.

March 6th doesnt sound too definite to me....

    This is a worthless post.

  4. what would be interesting is if Izzy played on any of the new songs

Well a certain member on here who seems very reliable said Izzy co-wrote some of the songs on Chinese Democracy

I find it strange that the day after he posted that, Izzy comes on for maybe 3 or 4 songs (I don't know if he did the encores too), and has his own solo. And Ron didn't have a solo, not even Don't Cry.

When asked if Izzy's appearances in Europe were intended to help Axl, Beta said "Axl doesn't need Izzy".

Funny thing is that Axl DOES need Izzy...and Slash if he wishes to return GNR back to what they were in the early 90's. With the current lineup, it won't happen...too many delays, too many unknowns (band members included), no identity and not enough time to make it work with them.

Some of you can be content with what GNR has become today, but just realize it won't be anywhere near what it once was.

  5. Yes it is pathetic and it is all about the music which is why all these new guys are playing all the old guys music and can't release a goddamn album you total fucking moron. :fuckyou:

Oh, you know why it's delayed then? Good for you. Care to share with us?

They've played 8 new songs so far. Go to the show and invest on brain cells.

If you are impressed with substandard music, sound problems, poor ticket sales, cancelled shows, a non existant album, excuse-ridden letters and hired guns, then more power to you - I can see why you love this new 'GNR' so much!!

Bottom line: Without Slash, Axl isn't relevant. Please do not drum up an argument against this because you will not win.

  6. Actually it isn't that revolving door. Axl is an original, Dizzy has been in the band since 1990, Robin has been in since 1996, Tommy since 1998, Fortus since '02, the only newbies are Ron and Frank. Compare that to Black Sabbath, a truly revolving door lineup

Still, 99.96% of the population don't know who the fuck any of these guys are and don't/won't until at the very least Slash comes back - that's the reality. The board shouldn't exist inside a vacuum.

  7. lets get things cleared up:

every member except AXL, is replaceble or can be fired.

This is half-true since Axl bought the name and could technically fire anyone, but you are a fucking idiot to think Slash is replaceable...he CAN'T do it without Slash. Use this tour as an example, it has been truly pathetic with Axl trying to do it on his own.

Actually, Slash is replaceable. He himself was a replacement and was succesfully replaced by: Paul Huge, Robin Finck, Buckethead and Bumblefoot.

When did Slash become a replacement? 1985? Who the fuck heard of GNR then?

And define the fact that he was successfully replaced? What a load of shit. Better music, more album sales, more fan appeal? On those three fronts, your statement is wrong. You mention 4 guitarists which contradicts your thoughts - Axl needed that many guitarists since Slash and still nothing equal to him.

And Raw Power I agree, I'd rather see Izzy with those guys, seems they'd get along better and would take VR to the next level...Izzy helps new 'GNR', but they still all those unkown revolving door musicians.

  8. It's sad - I read all these truly idiotic anti-original GNR posts (and the lack of respect given to the band) and it confirms my thoughts that this band did in fact die in 1993, and that someone is trying to put it back together with the wrong pieces - and it is not working, in fact it's failing miserably.

The GNR legacy is unfortunately being tarnished by a bald, middle-aged, neurotic rock star who can't even get it together to put out a new record. What happened to Axl? He was SO good back in the day...now he's a joke to everyone except his most loyal of ass-kissers.

I see this latest letter, a pathetic attempt to try and calm the masses, and everyone falls for it hook, line and sinker...keep believing.

  9. lets get things cleared up:

every member except AXL, is replaceble or can be fired.

This is half-true since Axl bought the name and could technically fire anyone, but you are a fucking idiot to think Slash is replaceable...he CAN'T do it without Slash. Use this tour as an example, it has been truly pathetic with Axl trying to do it on his own.

  10. I agree with you Patience4Axl. Izzy is doing this for fun. He has nothing to do with the new band, there's no pressure at all.

Maybe he's been talking about a couple of things to Axl... Like the possibility of a reunion in 2 or 3 years...

One can only hope...perhaps Izzy is the only one that could bring this up to Axl for legitimate consideration...they are the closest of all the members.

Would be interesting to see if a reunion would consist soley of a reunion tour, or a legit reunion writing new music and stuff...I'd take either of the two.

  11. One last comment, notice I said the 'face' of GNR. I do not in any way want to discount Izzy as a songwriter/member, because he's written some amazing songs and I think he's a vital member of the band...its just that he's always been more in the background, and only the diehards recognize him for the amount of fantastic material he wrote, myself included.

But ask 100 music fans who GNR are, and they will ALL say Axl and Slash.

  12. IZZY coming back should end the "not the legit-GNR" bullshit.

Wrong, only Slash would end that...

Why would he? He's not even an original member.

There are only TWO people that are the face of GNR, and its Axl and Slash. Debate over.

  13. Izzy will be replacing Bumblefoot...you will be seeing that happen in the new year!

robin and stinson are boring rockstars....they havent a boss charisma and character like axl, slash, duff and even matt...they're bosses ! in new gnr are many tools

    fuck off.

Robin and the general got as much as charisma as Slash and Duff, maybe more.

And ALOT more than that muppet Matt

Robin is one of the coolest rockstars out there

Do you have any fucking recollection of a 1985-1993 band called Guns N' Roses and what they brought to the table?? And you have the nerve to make charisma comparisons of this new 'GNR' to the original GNR?? There's a reason they're called 'hired guns'...

  14. I know GNR is usually rumored to play almost every major awards show as well as the super bowl, but the Grammys are scheduled for 2/8/07 and this date would fit well with the album release. This would be a good opportunity to debut the first single live. I have not been able to find a perfomer listing on their website so I doubt all of the performances have been scheduled yet. Does anyone agree that this could happen?

    no

  15. I can tell you when I saw them in Worcester, and they had sound problems, that when Axl's mike wasn't working properly he was clearly screaming and NO SOUND was coming out - so I don't believe there are any backing tracks or lip synching going on.

  16. BBF let me play his guitar and I told him ''i love you'', he said ''i love you too brother''.

    U R GAY

    U R JEALOUS

If it were Slash, then yes I'd admit I was jealous...but jealous of Ron Thal? Yeah, right.

And about the Metallica/GNR thing - these two bands DID hate each other...it all stemmed from the Montreal show where Hetfield was burned and Axl had to quit the show 2 songs in to their set list because he couldn't hear himself (a good amount of equipment was burned). GNR walks off and a riot starts, Lars blames Axl.

I have a bootleg from New Haven '93 and Axl dedicates Double Talkin Jive to "Lars". These guys can make up (having no reason to) but Axl and Slash can't? WTF?

And yes Lars is a bit of a wanker because of the whole download/napster thing. That and Metallica haven't produced a GOOD album since 1991 (take Load and Reload for whatever they are - good music but NOT Metallica).
