  5. Hey,

I've just contacted the "BI-LO CENTER" which is supposed to host tomorrow's GUNS N ROSES concert in Greenville. Here's what they had to say "We have not received word that it's not going to happen sir". Ticketmaster is still selling tickets for the event. On one part reliable news sources such as MTV says the tour is off and on another part it seems to be business as usual.

  6. Hey,

Now that the Philadelphia, Washington, Albuquerque, Phoenix, Sacramento and San Jose concerts have been cancelled, everybody now expects some king of official statement from GNR or Clear Channel Entertainment (tour promoters for Guns N Roses).

  7. Hey CIVILIAN,

I agree that the Toronto concert was better. The sound system was very well calibrated. It also has to do with the fact that the Air Canada Centre in Toronto is a new building built with accoustics in mind. the song Welcome to teh Jungle did not get dephased in Toronto, but it does get dephased at other venues in the part where Axl says "You know where you are, you're in the Jungle.. you're gonna die......".

Don't get me wrong, I would never expect a live band to never get dephased. This is live stuff, shit happens, unexpected things happen. Remember that these concerts are not recordings, and considering how much running arround Axl does while signining, I'm superised he can keep up so well. [He did have trouble speaking to the crowd at some point in Boston cause he had trouble catching his breath, but that's totally understandable].

  8. Hey,

I don't care what reviewers have said, the Toronto concert was the best concert from this tour that I have been to.

    Here's why:

    1. The sound was AMAZINGLY CLEAR, no distortion, no echo

    2. Axl was in a great mood

    3. Lighting was good

    4. The crowd was the most responsive (screaming when Axl is sitting on the piano and looks sideways to the crowd, he did it more times in Toronto than at any other place because teh crowd intsntaneously responded every time he looked sideways).

The concert is completely worth it. At the end of the concert, all the fans seem extremely happy to have seen GUNS N ROSES.

  9. Hey,

Just got back from the Boston concert.

    SHORT REVIEW:

As usual, lots of girls showing their tits in the monitor before GNR takes the stage. Some girl even took her pants off (front) and showed off..

The Boston Fleet Arena was SOLD OUT! No empty seats (seats at the back where intentionally empty because of the stage is set up).

GNR went on stage at 10:42. The sound quality was ok, but not superb. There was some of echo bouncing in the Arena. I think GNR did their best, the sound can never be the same from one arena to another.

(The clearest sound so far in my opinion was in Toronto at the Air Canada Center which is a completely new arena with special accoustics).

Axl was in a great mood. Some songs got out of phase sometimes but quickly came back ok. I've noticed two difficulties in the current tour:

    1. Middle of Welcome to the Jungle (dephased)

    2. Strange guitar notes Patience (Axl sometimes nods his head in that song at some concerts.

There was no lights focussing on Axl at both the left and right ends at this concerts. So we did not see Axl well when he would go to either ends of the stage. The image in both giant monitors was often very pale, this should be fixed.

At some point Axl's dropped the pole of his mike while signing, and he was running arround. The mike pole did not get picked up and the stage was DARKER than at the other venues. I got concerned that Axl would run back and litterally trip over the pole (at the speed Axl runs, he would have been hurt). Axl did come running back, but noticed the pole and picked it up just as the guy arrived to pick it up. at the end of the song Axl made a comment about "someone not doing his job".

At some point in "Rocket Queen", Axl was signing but no sound was coming out of the speakers. But that was quickly fixed.

The crowd was very responsive. The crowd was signing along almost every song (exept the new songs cause most people don't know them yet).

The concert was a COMPLETE succcess! Everyone seemed happy to have seen GNR when comming out of the arena. Everyone at the Arena had a blast.

If I had more time, I'd start a page to rate the sound quality in the arena's. Personally, in a future GNR tour, I would give the Fleet Center a neutral rating because of the echoes bouncing out of the ceiling and travelling arround the arena.

  10. There was ont rant about the Montreal 1992 concert...

Things for fucked when my plane did not take off from Montreal to Toronto because of the snow storm. I rented a car and drove my way to Toronto. I arrived in the Air Canada Centre at 10:30OM and the GNR went on stage at 10:37PM.

The Air Canada Centre was PACKED! I mean it was a full house and the ambiance was great!

I expected to get the usual intro (voice from the Exorcist) like at the other concerts but we did not get it.

As soon as Welcome To The Jungle came on, I was relieved to see that the sound system was properly calibrated. The sound was great, clear, crisp!

Axl was very talkative, he joked around throughout the show. He joked during his piano solo.

Axl Rose asked: "How many of you people where at the infamous Montreal 1992 show?". Lots of people yelled that they where, some people booed. What an asshole to even bring it up...

The song Chinese Democracy absolutely ROCKED! Axl Rose really seemed to enjoy signing this song. About 5 people asked me how come I knew the lyrics to the song. I noticed that no one in the crowd seemed to know the lyrics to the song.

The most appreciated "new material" was Madagascar, I guess because most people had heard a preview of it at the MTV Music Video Awards. Chinese Democracy came in second and The Blues third.

People behaved at the concert. One minor incident: when I went to the men's washroom, there was a few male security guards helping a female security guard wash hew face from the pepper spray she got in he face. Don't know how that happened. The use of pepper spray by law enforcement agents is very common in Canada, so there's no surprise there.

The Toronto concert was as good if not better than the Illusions concerts. Axl did say something about people trying to put him down all the time, and I have a feeling that has been the case with the concert reviews of the first concerts of this present tour.

This is DEFINITIVELY a concert not to miss! If you don't have tickets yet, click here to get your tickets!

  11. Hey,

You are NOT allowed to take pictures!

Security guards WILL confiscate yoru equipment if they see you taking pictures.

I've seen security guards dressed up as GNR fans trying to find people who take pictures.

Oh and they don't just taky your camera away, about 3 guy's ask you to follow them. The people that I saw get caught missed some part of the concert. One lady was crying cause her digital camera had been confiscated.

  12. Hey,

What a great concert last night! Too bad they would not sell any more beer after 10:00...

The new songs they played are:

    -Madagascar

    -Chinese Democracy

    -The Blues

    (in that order)

I'll finish writing my review for the London concert in an hour. I'll be online in the concerts section then.
