If we get really desparate we could do some testing, if all of us just search for something specific for the next few days. Something like "Roll On 2 U Guns n' Roses". If it starts showing up GNR results at a certain point, the myth is debunked.

Someone just go on the Spotify chat forums and ask the question on how their search works and see what answer you get

  2. You have to wonder if some people that have unreleased stuff(which i 100% believe exist and theirs more then what we think) that sit on it cause they don't want to hurt the band are ever going to get to the point where they are like screw it their never going to put anything else out i should just leak this and make the fans happy. Just a random thought or maybe wishful thinking.

So do you think I'm wrong?

In which case, you think songs we haven't heard will actually come out?

Or you gonna say you don't know, maybe not - but I'll still be wrong?

I'm aware I'm offering an opinion.

What's your opinion?  New songs or Atlas/Perhaps?

Glad that your  admitting it as opinion, instead of trying to allude that you know more than the rest of us. The problem is that  your so adamant that your opinion is right and everyone else is wrong that you come off as a troll even though as you have just admitted it is just your opinion.

The more i listen to this sing the more i dislike it, im really not sure why? Iv always thought the demo was ok but after hearing the new version abut 5 times iv decided i dont like it, iv said it in another post that to me it feels like it should be in an episode of horrid henry or denis the menace with the school bell at the start.  Just my opinion and im glad others are enjoying it

Man i am the opposite, i really thought i wouldnt listen to it that much cause i listen to the demo to death and at first i wasnt all that impressed with the new version, but whatever reason i think the chorus just sounds better and more angry not sure why it does.

Unfortunately yeah, if what I'm saying is right, we all lose.

I feel we are almost being trolled right now by a guy getting musicians to record over his 20 year vocal demos and calling it new GNR songs.

Like I've said - it's Stockholm Syndrome at this point.  You're all happy with this so why does he need to write/record anything new?  Looking forward to the next 'new' song Atlas Shrugged?

Holly definition of glass half empty kind of person right here

They wouldn't have to worry about CDs until weeks after the surprise digital release.

Taylor Swift, Eminem, Beyonce and many other artists have had huge albums in the last few years that were surprise releases on streaming. Then they released the CDs weeks later and the vinyl after that.

Pretty funny i brought this up a couple of years ago when Eminem was doing it and got laughed at. Then other artists started doing it and now it seems funny that it is a more believable scenario now then maybe actually getting a release date.

Demos or discarded mixes still have some value once they are officially released in some form.

Like pre-Bumblefoot versions of CD tracks we have not heard, and pre-Buckethead CD takes as well, etc. Silkworms and OMG 2002, etc.

Oh for sure, maybe we see nothing, but I think we will see some things come out. There’s always going to be that guy that will want to show off the fact that he had something no one else did

The other thing to point out is it's likely Rose had virtually noting to do with these instrumentals.  They were submitted by various members and are likely left completely untouched,

This I Love is obviously his.  Madagascar organ is his.  Maybe some of the Prostitute/Street of Dreams music.

    • Chinese Democracy - Josh Freese riff
    • Shacklers - Buckethead demo
    • Sorry - Buckethead instrumental
    • Better - Robin riff
    • Silkworms - written by Dizzy/Chris
    • Going Down - Tommy song
    • The General - Brain song (according to Dizzy)

For the abooce, these were existing songs where Rose added lyrics.

Discussions about the songs we haven't heard paint a very clear picture that Rose isn't creating these songs.

    Ides of March

'Ides of March' was a working title of one of the songs that came from a loop name that Dizzy came up with: I think they kept the name, but it's been years so I'm sure everything has changed by now." (Dave Dominguez, Sp1at, 02/07/05)

    Seven
"...we were writing all these songs to try and turn in. Xtract is sort of this old school DJ type, he’s a bass player but he loves old school break beats and you know, cratedigger type of guy. So, the shit we were putting together was crazy. We were going ‘OK what sample should we find for Axl? Well he’s sort of like Julius Ceasar’ so we were trying to sample stuff that reflected that. We were looking for old school, crazy shit and I think we sampled Ben-Hur, chopped it up, cut it up and that became a jam, I think we called it ‘Seven’."  (Brain Interview)

Interestingly, Ben Hur was filmed in Circus Maximus so it's likely that is that song.

    Down by The Ocean:

"In '95, Duff and me recorded songs for the band. We made a tape that went nowhere. Then, a couple of months ago I have a message on my answering machine: 'Yo! It's Axl, I need a copy of the songs that you did.' There was one called 'Down by the Ocean' or 'Down by the Sea', they may have used it, I haven't come back to know nothing." (Izzy, Popular Magazine, 2001)

    As it Began

This became 'Goodbye' by Saivu (which was a collaberation of Richard Fortus and Norwegian musician Lásse Kvernmo), so likely untouched by Rose and passed on to Richard.

I think it should be obvious to anyone that PRL, Moustache, Zodiac, Tonto, Real Doll dot com, Billionaire, Dub Suplex, Devious Bastard, Dummy, D-Tune, Curly Shuffle, The Rebel etc were submitted by Brain, Bucket, Robin etc and completely untouched by Rose.

Marco Belrami said none of the songs he worked on had Vocals.

Axl played Oklamona for Rolling Stone - it had no vocal.

Wasn’t the only instrumental that had No Vocals beside it on the Village Discs Zodiac? The rest of them just said Instrumental right? Makes me think there is a version of Zodiac out there with Vocals

  9. Its funny i feel the people that trashed this song never gave it a fair shake to let it grow on them until it became an official release because it was so different, not that i blame anyone i thought it was trash the first time i heard it as well, but it did grow on me the last couple years and played it regularly and enjoyed it. The official release i really enjoy with the new guitar and more rock feel to it!

    I......think I like it?

    What is happening right now??

Haha ya it’s funny, even though I liked the song, was disappointed that after all this time it was our first official release but more I listen to this new version the more I like it
